That day in February had constantly been on repeat in her head. Kiana was so close to having Julien back in her life, but like always she fucked everything up. It was second nature at this point. But the one thing she hadn't yet messed up was her new album, Kiana was determined to make every detail about it as perfect as she could.

Kiana sighed and opened instagram since it was the only platform she was publicly on. Her finger hovered over the plus sign at the bottom of the screen. Kiana hesitated for a moment, she felt as though the album wasn't ready despite Jack and Tony saying otherwise, but anyways she clicked the plus sign and made a new post.

Kiana put her phone down and leaned back on the couch as she sighed. The album announcement had made the brunette anxious, she couldn't seem to calm herself, but Kiana knew something that would. Kiana ran to her bedroom and rummaged through her drawers but found nothing.
"Fuck fuck fuck" She pulled the drawer out and dumped everything on the floor. "Shit, not now!" Kiana itched her neck and paced around her room muttering curses under her breath as if saying them would make drugs appear out of thin air. It occurred to Kiana suddenly that she could simplysimply text her dealer. So she rushed to her phone and did just that.

"You owe me $200" Brenner was leaned against the door frame while swinging a small plastic bag.
Kiana reached into her pocket and tossed two crumpled up 100 dollar bills at Brenner. "There's your stupid money, now give it to me" She reached for the bag but Brenner held his arm away from Kiana. "Brenner I am not doing this shit right now"
"Don't you fucking die on me, alright? Last thing I need are the cops at my door"
"Yeah, whatever" She took the drugs from Brenner and slammed the door in his face. Kiana sat on her sofa and dumped the white powder onto her coffee table.
Kiana sat on the couch, the air heavy with the scent of sweat, perfume, and something sharperโfaintly chemical. She tapped her nails on the table, her gaze locked on the neat line of powder in front of her. Her pulse was already racing, and she hadn't even touched it yet. A crumpled twenty-dollar bill sat in her lap. She rolled it between her fingers, her movements deliberate, almost slow, though her mind buzzed with anticipation. It was just her and the powder, the promise of escape sitting within arm's reach.
She pressed the bill to her nose, her breath hitching for just a second. Then, with one swift, practiced motion, she inhaled sharply, dragging the powder up in a single, burning line. The sting was immediate, sharp and electric, making her eyes water. Kiana blinked through it, head snapping back as she wiped her nose with the back of her hand. For a moment, the world felt suspended, everything moving in slow motion. Her heart skipped a beat, then took off like a bullet, pounding hard enough to make her chest tight. She swallowed, tasting the bitter, chemical bite at the back of her throat.
Then it hit. A rush of adrenaline and euphoria coursed through her veins, drowning out every other sensation. Her limbs tingled, the noise around her receded, and suddenly the room seemed brighter, sharperโtoo sharp. She blinked, her pupils blown wide as her hands began to tremble. But she didn't care. Kiana let out a low breath, her lips twitching into a reckless smile as she wiped her nose again. Everything was clear now. It all made sense in a way it hadn't moments ago. Her pulse was still racing, faster than ever, but it felt good. Too good. She leaned back in the chair, throwing her head against the cushion with a satisfied sigh. Whatever was waiting for her tomorrow didn't matter now. She was untouchable.
Kiana stumbled to her feet, her heart still racing. She rummaged through the kitchen cabinets, in desperate need of alcohol. Finally, she got her hands on half a bottle of vodka. I popped the top off and downed what was roughly about four shots. The burning sensation brought her a sense of satisfaction and joyโsomething she rarely ever felt without drugs in her system.
Kiana grabbed the bottle and stumbled into her bedroom, collapsing onto the mattress and spilling the remaining vodka across her clothes and the sheets. She didn't seem to care; she tossed the bottle aside, letting it roll off the bed and shatter on the floor. Her eyes were fixed on the ceiling as if her favorite movie were playing up thereโa welcome distraction from the frantic pounding of her heart. Gradually, her vision began to blur, her eyelids growing heavier with each passing moment. She didn't resist the pull of sleep. She surrendered to the drugs, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. But just as quickly as her heart raced, it fell silent.
At that moment, Tony knocked on the doorโonce, then twiceโover and over again until he'd finally used his key to let himself in. Kiana's apartment was eerily quiet, it was unsettling. Tony lingered in the entrance for a bit before wandering around the apartment. The cabinets were left open from the rummaging Kiana had done, and the coffee table still had residue on it. The state of the apartment worried Tony.
"Kiana?" He called out, but there was no answer. He walked around the living room, noticing the white powder on the coffee table. "Kiana come on, this isn't funny!" Tony went into her bedroom, hoping he'd find her there, and he did. When he walked in Kiana was unconscious on her bed. She looked sickly pale, her skin was almost gray. Tony ran to her, glass from the vodka crunching beneath his feet. He felt her wrist for a pulse, but there wasn't one. He reached into his back pocket for his phone, his hands trembled and struggled to dial 911.
"911 how can I help?"
"I think she's dead," Tony said in between sobs. "We're at 10000 Santa Monica Boulevard, you have to hurry"
"Okay sir, someone's on their way,"
Tony felt his chest tighten, it was as if a piano had fallen on him. "I can't breathe, I'm gonna throw up"
"Sir, breathe with me okay? Can you do that?"
Tony nodded despite the 911 operator not being able to see him. "I think so"
"Breathe in," Tony breathed in just as the woman did, "then out."
"I'm okay now, I think." He said. "But Kiana- please are they almost here?"
The front door burst open suddenly, Tony hung up and dropped his phone. "In here!" He shouted.
The paramedics burst into the bedroom, nearly shoving Tony aside as they rushed to Kiana's side. They carefully laid her on the floor, working diligently to revive her. Meanwhile, Tony sat against the wall, his knees pulled to his chest, trapped in a relentless loop of memories with Kianaโeach moment replaying in his mind like an unending film.
