Kiana and Jack were at Long Pond studios finalizing the album. They'd already recorded the songs so all that was left was to produce them. Jack spoke about what he thought would be better for the song but Kiana wasn't paying much attention to him, she was more focused on the love song she'd recorded before shit hit the fan. The plan to release it along with her next album had gone out the window, she couldn't exactly fit a love song into a breakup album, it wouldn't make any sense for it to be on there.

"Kie," Jack waved his hand in the singers face, "Are you alright? If you need to go I can do this on my own. I'll send you the songs before anything is finalized and you can let me know if you like it"

"No, sorry, I'm- I'm fine"

"What was I just saying then?"

There was no way Kiana would be able to blindly guess, but it was worth a shot. She wanted to be anywhere that wasn't her apartment, it reminded her too much of Julien. "Something about layering?"

"That was a lucky guess," Said Jack, turning back to the computer. "So I layered and matched yours and Matty's vocals after the first chorus, which gave us this" Jack pressed the space bar to play Kiana a snippet of the song, and she loved the layering Jack had done. "So, what do you think?"

"I love it," She said truthfully. Though Kiana spoke in a rather monotone voice, leading Jack to believe she hated it.

"You hate it, I hear it in your voice"

The brunette sighed and buried her face in her hands, "I'm sorry Jack," Kiana lifted her head and ran her fingers through her hair. "I really do love it but I think I do need to go home after all"

"Alright, I can finish up Be My Mistake and I'll send you the finished product"

"Yeah, okay, thanks Jack"

"If you need anything at all I'm just one call away"

Kiana's lips curved into a small smile, "Thank you"

She walked out the studio and was immediately greeted by a flash of cameras with the paparazzi shouting all sorts of questions at her. Kiana rushed into her car and drove away from the studio. She stopped a couple blocks down to gather her thoughts, ever since her and Julien broke up she couldn't seem to have a single minute of peace and quiet, it seemed like her mind was constantly at war with itself. It was driving her insane.

The sounds of muffled laughter and shouts had taken her attention off her thoughts. Kiana tore her eyes off the steering wheel and spotted two guys โ€” who were clearly wasted โ€” stumbling out of a bar.

"I could use a drink" The brunette thought to herself. "One drink to calm me down and then I can go home"

Kiana left her car and ran across the street towards the bar. She sat down at the bar and waved down a bartender and asked for several shots of vodka. The bartender nodded and placed 7 shot glasses in front of the singer.

โ€”

It'd been two hours since Kiana arrived at the bar, and in those two hours she'd gotten completely wasted. Her speech was slurred and she couldn't walk straight, yet somehow Kiana was still getting served.

"Hey, mind if I sit?" A man asked.

She turned her head to see a man about 6 foot with blonde hair and blue eyes. "Not at all" Kiana replied.

"I got you a drink," He slid a shot glass over to the singer, and took a seat. In any normal situation she would've refused a drink that hadn't been made in front of her own two eyes, but Kiana was too drunk for her own good. So she drank it. "I'm Shawn, what's your name?"

"You- you look like Hercules" She slurred, "You have such a chiseled face" Kiana reached her hand out and gently brushed the tip of her fingers on his jawline. "You're so pretty, you look like a cartoon"

"Thank you?"

"I think I'm drunk"

Shawn chuckled at the drunk girl beside him, "You sure are"

The two continued to talk for fifteen minutes, though most of their conversation was mainly about Shawn and his muscles and his unbelievably super blonde hair.

"I don't- I don't feel so good" Kiana started to stand but the alcohol and whatever else was in her system did not mix well, and as a result she fell to the floor with a loud thud. The bar fell silent and all eyes were now on Kiana.

"I got you," Shawn bent over and slung Kiana's arm over his shoulder. "Let's get out of here"

Kiana could barely move and she had no idea where she was, her vision had begun to blur and she felt tired, weak almost.

"Kiana?" A familiar voice shouted, "Kiana!"

"Why does that voice sound familiar?" Kiana wondered. She tried to focus on the persons face as they got closer but she was beginning to lose consciousness.

"What are you doing with her?" The same voice asked Shawn.

"Taking her back to my place, she's drunk and- "

The same voice had interrupted the blonde man, "Exactly, so she's not going anywhere with you"

"Her and I are old friends," He lied, "I'm gonna take good care of her"

"I'll call the cops and have your ass arrested for attempted kidnapping"

Shawn groaned and had practically thrown Kiana over to Julien and Phoebe. "Whatever"

It wasn't till she was in the backseat of the car laying on Juliens lap that Kiana realized who she was with. If Kiana were sober she'd have thrown herself out the car immediately upon realizing, but Kiana could barely move on her own.

"J?" Kiana mumbled.

"It's okay, you're okay, Kiana" Julien spoke in a hushed voice as she ran her hand through her ex girlfriend's hair. "You're safe"

Under normal circumstances Julien wouldn't allow her ex to lie so comfortably in her lap, but Kiana could barely walk or remember her own name, there was no way Julien could just leave her like that in her current state with some stranger.

"I miss you, J" Her words were slurred together and hard to understand, but Julien knew perfectly fine what Kiana had said.

Those three words; I miss you. Those words stung, had she meant it? Though the longer her mind lingered on the thought the more angry and confused Julien became. If those words were true why had Kiana cheated on her?

"I lo..." Kiana's voice trailed off as her head fell to the side and her eyes began to close.

"Hey, no, you have to stay awake" Julien gently shook her, "You can sleep when we get home"

"Home?"

"Yeah, Kiana," She rubbed the brunettes shoulder and sighed, "Home"

โ€”

The following morning Kiana had woken up in a living room that wasn't her own. Her eyes darted around room in a panic, a part of her wanted to recognize the room but she couldn't. It wasn't till Phoebe walked out her bedroom that Kiana finally realized where she was.

"Morning, how are you feeling?"

Kiana knitted her brows in confusion, "What are you talking about? Why am I here?"

"You were drugged at a bar and we kind of saved your ass" Said Phoebe.

"We?"

"Yeah, Julien and I- "

"Fuck, I have to get out of here" Kiana started to stand but was immediately hit with a wave of dizziness.

"Calm down, I'll drive you home" Phoebe grabbed her car keys and got in her car.

"Can you um, can you actually drive me to the bar again? My car got left there"

"Sure" Phoebe nodded.

They were both silent up until halfway through the drive when Phoebe decided to speak. "Just for the record I still hate you, and I mean that, I really hate you"

"Then why'd you save me last night?"

The Bridgers woman sighed, "You're a huge asshole but that doesn't mean I would want anything bad to happen to you" She spoke, and an uncomfortable silence fell between the two singers.

"I'm sorry" Kiana said softly, looking down at her feet.

"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to" Phoebe turned onto a street and parked behind a black Tesla belonging to Kiana. "What you did to Julien was majorly fucked up. She loved you dude, I don't understand why you cheated on her"

Kiana just simply shrugged, "Life happens"

Phoebe sighed and shook her head at the Stevens woman, the same woman who she once called a friend. "What happened to you?"

"I'm sorry" It came out as almost a whisper. Kiana had been saying those two words so often they begun to lose any meaning to her, she only said them hoping that somebody would believe her pathetic apology and forgive her. But not even her own brother had spoken to her since the whole Leah incident.

"She's better off without you, so don't ever try to get in contact with her" Kiana gave Phoebe a slight nod, letting her know that she understood. "And just for the record, it was Julien who saved you, I didn't even get a word in. She would've knifed that guy just for you"
