always and forever (only applies to the men), pt two

Titania knew better than to go to New Orleans after Rebekah.

She fucking knew.

But she would also be a complete damn fool if she didn't go as a protector, a line of defense for her aunt and this...pregnant werewolf? She supposed?

Truly she didn't quite know if she had the strength to comprehend why in the hell anyone would want to have sex with her rat of an uncle, so she chose to shove that way back in her mind.

Otherwise she'd start gagging on the plane and that would just be rather embarrassing.

The lawyer knew there was no turning back now, however—the landing gear was hitting the runway and she could see the lights of the city reflecting against the window.

Titania straightened her button down as the plane rolled to a stop, deciding to wait until the initial chaos had worn off before she attempted to step out into the aisle.

As soon as it started to slow, she grabbed her bag from under the seat in front of her and slipped out, more than ready to be off the plane.

London to Louisiana wasn't exactly the shortest of flights, and if she didn't have files to go over, she would have been bored out of her fucking mind.

She breathed a small sigh of relief as she stepped off the craft, limbs grateful for the motion.

Her phone began to buzz as soon as she turned it back on, quick steps almost in time with each vibration.

"Yes, yes, I just landed. Please tell me that you are already here, Aunt Rebekah. Otherwise I may turn around right now." Titania huffed as she tried to spot where the baggage claim was.

"Oh perfect! See I landed about...oh, an hour ago? I've secured a car. We can worry about the wanker in a bit, come to the parking lot." Rebekah sat on the hood of a vintage red car, intently watching the doors or the airport.

"Let me get through the damn mob that is baggage claim, I swear there are people running everywhere."

It truly was madness, she supposed that her flight wasn't the only one that just landed.

"I'll see you soon then my darling." Her aunt hung up at that, leaving to weave in and out of people to finally reach the belt that pushed out suitcases.

The witch was glad she chose a bright red one this time, catching sight of it as soon as it passed through the plastic curtains hiding the people loading on the luggage.

Titania power walked right out as soon as her hand was on the handle and wheels were on the floor, possibly a bit too eager to escape the crowd and the noise.

And there was Rebekah, sitting on a cherry red convertible with a proud, bright smile.

Quite on brand for her, if she was being entirely honest.

She kept her pace as she crossed the drop off and pick up lanes, slipping through stopped cars so could get to the parking lot, heels clicking to show how entirely fed up she was–as if she could hide it on her face to begin with.

"Oh sweetheart, you could at least pretend to be happy to see me?" The original's smile only broadened as she slid off the vehicle.

"You, yes. Everyone else? Not so much." Her smile was slightly returned as she got close to the car.

"Well Kol and I were the favorites." Rebekah tugged her into a tight hug, leaving her entire body tense at the surprise contact.

She hated being touched with no warning. The children she worked with were an exception, sure, but otherwise? She hated it.

"You need to relax sweetheart, all that tension is going to kill you again." She teased as she let her go.

"You know how I feel about being touched." Titania grumbled with a half serious scowl.

"And yet you survived. Now come on, I found us cute apartments right next to each other in the Quarter." The vampire took her suitcase and dropped it on the backseat along with hers.

"And people think I get the resourcefulness from my father when you and my mother are right there." Her sigh as she got in on the passengers side made her aunt laugh.

"Please, they would try and argue their way out of a cardboard box and epically fail." Rebekah rolled her eyes as she dropped into her own seat and started the engine.

"The problem is they would not be able to get along long enough to even attempt to argue." She quirked a brow in an attempt to not chuckle herself.

"...god I missed you. You and your mum were the only ones with a sense of humor." The blonde laughed again as she backed out of the space.

"Apparently humor is a Boleyn trait." Titania shrugged, pulled by her phone out of her jacket pocket again.

The vehicle steered onto the street, the lights of the Quarter starting to slowly appear on the horizon.

"I'd like to think I have some stashed away somewhere, I mean since I'm the only one you talk to." She flicked her eyes over to her niece for a brief moment.

Well...she was not entirely wrong. She really did only speak with her now that Kol was gone.

"You are the only family I have left that I can stand, so...yes? About the apartment because apparently I have an emergency therapy session that a parent is requesting for their child...."

Affection was foreign still, even if it was from Rebekah. Klaus had separated them for so long, and Elijah just let it happen. Par for the damn course if she was being completely blunt.

"Putting that psychiatric degree to use finally? Well done. Yes, they are furnished completely, you have nothing to worry about. I promise that as soon as I know this magical werewolf and the bun in her oven, as well as your father, are okay? We will leave." Rebekah promised with a knowing smile.

"Yes yes, I counsel as well as argue in court. Anything to keep the defenseless out of the hands of men like them." The hybrid answered the client's email with a sigh, wanting nothing more than a drink.

The lights continued to grow closer as the conversation slowly dimmer in contrast, the pair rolling into the Quarter with separate senses of dread gripping their chests that were hilariously intertwined.
