(Bella) 

I stared at the pretty girl standing before us. She was wearing some type of sexy fairy costume that was very revealing. Her eyes never left Jin's face. I looked at him and saw that his expression had turned blank.

"Hi, Victoria," he said in a monotone. He glanced at me. "Bella, this is Victoria, a friend from one of my classes. Vic, this is...Bella."

The girl laughed. "Okay, then. A friend." She looked at me. "Hi, Bella. I love your costumes. Congratulations on winning. I honestly never thought I'd see Seokjin doing something as cheesy as couples costumes, but you all look good."

"Thank you," I replied. She kept staring at Jin, and I could feel a knot forming in my stomach.

"And showing affection in public," Victoria said. "I believe that's something I've never seen, Seokjin. I'm surprised. Is this what the rest of us have to look forward to? Will you finally do something else besides just show us the door?"

"Victoria," he said in a tight voice. "I will talk to you later, okay? Now is not a good time. It was nice to see you, but we were just leaving."

I felt Jin's hand on the small of my back pushing me along.

Victoria's smile changed slightly. "Nice meeting you, Bella. I'm sure that you're going to enjoy yourself tonight. Seokjin sure knows how to show a girl a good time."

Jin's face flashed anger briefly before he returned to his blank expression. "Good night, Victoria." He ushered me out of the room and into the lobby.

I squirmed away from his touch and turned to face him. "What was that about?"

Jin looked away. "It was...nothing. Let's just go, okay?"

I knew he was not telling me the truth, and I felt a hot plume of anger and jealousy rise in my chest. "Are you in a rush to show me a good time?"

He exhaled and shut his eyes for a moment before looking at me. "I knew you would get upset. She knew it, too. That's why she said that. She was just trying to stir things up. Let's just go." He pulled at my elbow, but I refused to move.

"Who is she? Why would she say those things to me?" I asked.

"Bella."

"Did you sleep with her?"

His eyes looked up at the ceiling. "Can we talk about this later? At home?"

I knew then that he had. Why else would he not just give me a straight answer? Of course, I was aware that he had been with other girls, many girls. Cindy had even asked me if I would be upset to find out that he might've gone back to his old ways. I didn't know the answer to that question then, but I knew it right now. Yes, I was upset. Even if I tried to rationalize it by saying that we were not together when he did that, it still upset me. I had to calm down.

"Just her? Just once?" I asked in a tone I hoped sounded a bit calm.  My biggest fear now was that he had slept with countless girls while I was still crying over him.

"Just once," he replied. He did not look at me.

"Jin," I began. "Was it just her, or were there others?"

"Bella, we can discuss this at home." He looked around at a few other people who were out in the lobby. "Let's just go." His eyes looked into mine. Oh, God! He was so handsome! His eyes were hypnotizing. I wanted to just drop everything and go with him, but something kept nagging at me.

I glanced around and motioned him to follow me into a corner away from other people. He did not look happy, but he followed me.

"Just tell me the truth," I said. "Why can't you just be honest with me?"

"Why?" he asked. "The thing with Victoria happened before I met you. What does this have to do with us now? Let's just forget the past and live our lives. I love you, Bella."

"And how many girls after we met?"

"It doesn't matter now. I love you."

I looked into his eyes, and I could see the tenderness and love in his gaze. I could have accepted that love and moved on. I closed my eyes.  They always say it doesn't matter. Part of me couldn't let this go. Why? Why was I doing this? Then I opened my eyes.

"I don't know if I can do this," I said slowly.
