Chapter 16: Snipets
Elizabeth's POV
I don't remember much about that night. We got a little, crazy.
I do remember walking into Karaoke Junction with the gang. Angel was already pumped up but Sophie was still sad. I don't blame her. Why should we be celebrating and ignoring the fact that Samantha almost died?
"What song are we singing?" Blake asked after drinking a sip of beer.
"I'm not singing whatever stupid song you guys pick," Cici snapped.
"Nothing Xavier does is stupid," Abby drunkingly said. She was all over Xavier, him laughing at her and trying to push her off.
"Abby. Abby, babe! Get off!" Xavier laughed.
"Get a room," Cici sighed.
I had had a few shots of something Blake made me try (it was amazing) after this. Cici kept groaning every time Abby kissed Xavier. Sophie didn't say much but Max kept trying to get her to talk. He's so sweet to her.
Angel's POV
I love it when Cici's mean. It's who she is. It's who I fell in love with.
"Get them to stop!" She whined. She didn't like Abby and Xavier kissing each other and laughing.
"How about we try it out?" I asked sensually.
"Ew, gross, Angel!"
"Well, I want to have a good time. I'm gonna go talk to Blake and Elizabeth." I didn't want to leave her alone, but she's terrible at partying. I didn't want her to hold me down.
"What was that?" Liz asked Blake, him smiling at her. He was giving her some strong drinks.
"I'm not telling," He stated. I remember the first time Blake did that to me. I ended up waking up next to a dumpster.
"You're gonna get recked," I told her.
"I'm fine!" She yelled.
They were having a good time. I didn't want to interrupt their budding romance.
Nick's POV
I splashed water on my face to try to get the thought out of my head, but it didn't work. It was my fault. It was my fault. I was in the other room. How did I not see the signs? Before she went into the bathroom, she said she couldn't have asked for a better friend over the years.
I remember the first time we met. It was the first day of third grade. I was new to the school so I didn't really talk to anyone. But Samantha had the courage to make the extra effort and say something nice to me every day. And that's how we became friends.
But the day I had feelings for her was very different. It was the first dance of sixth grade. Samantha had been crying because Karen told the whole grade that Samantha had lice. It was the first of many rumors I chose to ignore. To make Samantha feel better, I asked her to dance to Stand By Me by Ben E. King. It is still my favorite song. She told me that I had a good heart and that any girl would be lucky to have me. This made me push the idea of her and me as a thing and started dating Joey for seven years.
"Dude, you okay?" Angel asked, startling me.
"Uh, yea. Just thinking."
"Well, don't think too much, man. Loosen up!"
Sophie's POV
I'm so happy Max looks like Matthew Espinosa. They are like the same person. I think Max is Matthew in disguise.
"Stop being sad. You're emotions are rubbing off on me," he said.
"I'm sorry. I forgot how to be happy." Max looked down disappointingly. I felt bad. But Samantha was laying in a hospital with no friends whatsoever to talk to. This was getting on my nerves. "I'm going to the hospital." I said to Max as I got up.
"Well, let me go with you." He insisted. I didn't want to pull him down like Cici was doing to Angel. They were cute together, but total opposites.
"No. I'm going alone."
"I'm not gonna let you go by yourself, Sophie. Please. Someone to keep you company during the ride."
"Ugh, fine."
Xavier's POV
"Get in the car, Abby." I said to her. I was talking her to my house before she did something stupid. And her mom would have killed her for drinking.
"Ooh, your house? I see where this is going." She had her arms around my neck, kissing it. Any other day I would have gone for it, but I loved her. I couldn't do that to her.
"Stop it, Abby."
"You're no fun. I remember when you were hitting on all the single girls at prom last year and you were dating someone else at the time."
"That's in the past."
"But it's still there." She made me remember about Karen. Oh, Karen. I hadn't broken up with her yet. I had to do it. Tonight. It couldn't go on any longer.
Max's POV
"Tell me how you feel," I asked Sophie as we walked to the car.
"Why?"
"You need to tell someone how you feel. You've been quiet all night."
"No I haven't."
"Yes, you have. I tried to make conversation with you in the car but you just ignore me."
"You did?" I could see her eyes were getting watery.
"Yea." A tear ran down her face before she could wipe it off.
"I don't like it, Max. I don't like it. I've known her for so long. She's so strong. What made her snap? What, Max?! Do you have that answer?!"
"I'm sorry, Sophie. I didn't know," I said, hugging her. I didn't know why. Samantha was the strongest girl I knew. But look where she was now.
Blake's POV
Almost everyone had left. Only Angel, Nick, and Cici were left and only Angel was staying by choice.
"Split second and you disappeared and then I was all alone," Lizzy sang on stage.
She was looking right at me. It was intimidating but, nah.
She walked off the stage, holding another mike in her hand as she sang the song. I really just wanted to hear her drunkenly sing. It was cute and funny. She handed me the mike and smiled. Oh, man. This was my chance.
"So I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna hold you
Like I'm saying goodbye..."
Elizabeth's POV
And when I woke up, I found myself laying next to Blake in his bed.
