Chapter 13: Almost Dead

Xavier's POV

"Stop it!" I whispered to Abby. She kept laughing every time I kissed her.

"I'm sorry. I can't help it. My life is like a fairytale. It's so magical and unbelievable."

"You've ruined the moment."

"Wait. We were having a moment?" I playfully pushed her away from me and she started to laugh again. Her laugh wasn't a problem. That's one of my favorite things about her. Was a kiss too much to ask for?

I soon heard a furious knock at the door. I faced Abby, gently kissed her on the forehead, and sprang off the bed to answer it. I looked through the seeing hole and saw Blake. He looked like he had a problem. I opened it and he sighed.

"Is Abby here?" He asked.

"Yea. What's up?"

"I need to talk to you. Alone."

"Uh, okay. Give me a sec." I walked to the bed and saw Abby on her phone. She looked up at me and smiled.

"Uh, can you go to Cici's room for a little bit? Blake needs to talk to me."

"Alone?"

"Alone."

"What is that boy doin' to Lizzy?" She got up and slipped on some flip flops.

"Don't know." We both made our way to the the door and said goodbye. Once Abby had left, I darted my eyes into Blakes. He covered his face with his hands in embarrassment.

"I don't know what to do, man." He finally said, throwing himself on the couch.

"What happened?" I sat next to him..

"I almost kissed her. Like, I wanna kiss her, but you know. I don't wanna go like so fast." I signed at this.

"How?"

"We were just messin' around. So I kind of pinned her down on the bed and got really close to her."

"Dude, you can't keep doing this. She has questions, most likely. She's gonna ask where you two stand."

"I know. I know. But does she like me back?! I don't know!" He was really frustrated. So I told him Lizzy's reputation.

"Go for her. When I knew her in middle school, guys liked her. But she never knew it. She never had a real boyfriend. You need to make it known that you have interest in her."

"What if she rejects me?"

"Dude. She likes you. Trust me."

"I don't know, man. When would I tell her this?"

"Not so soon. Give it a week or two. Spend time with her. Take her places. Have fun."

"Two weeks?!" He slumped into the couch. I didn't know what to say. I wasn't an expert on love. Shit, I never felt anything with my past girlfriends. It was always Abby. And Blake was me. I waited years to ask out the person I liked. Or kiss... So I called Abby.

"Babe, I need you, Sophie, and maybe Cici over here. We have a situation."

"I knew it! You do like Lizzy!" Cici exclaimed.

"Don't tell her, blabber mouth," Abby said. It was true. She couldn't keep a secret. But she's read so many books, she might know how to help Blake.

"Blake needs dire help. He doesn't want to come on strong." I said.

"Hmm, I think I know what to do. Girls want a relationship, sure. But, we have high standards. If we're gonna spend the rest of our lives with you guys, not saying you will, you better treat us like a princess," Abby said.

"That makes sense, I guess," Blake mumbled.

"Of course it makes sense, dummy," Cici exclaimed.

"The world is unfair. So the least you could do is make her life with you a fairytale," Abby said.

"Yes! Oh, it should be super romantic with roses and dancing!" Sophie squealed.

"That's it!" Abby started. "We'll make a plan. Better yet, an operation. Knowing Lizzy and many Disney movies, we can make the perfect relationship!"

So we spent the next hour making steps for a fairytale relationship.

Blake's POV

"Go to her!" Xavier yelled to me when we had finished the steps.

"I will!" I yelled as I ran out the door. I couldn't wait. This was it. I was going to have Liz.

As I entered the room, something wasn't right. I turned the corner to see Liz putting her shoes on. But she had a mess of tissues on the bed and on the floor. Her face looked red and she was sniffling.

"Elizabeth? What's wrong?" I asked, walking towards her. Did I make her upset earlier?

"Oh, B-Blake!" She cried. I had never seen her like this before. I knelt down beside her to comfort her.

"N-Nick's d-down there a-already," she stuttered. I pulled her up from the floor. What had happened?

"It's okay. Tell me what happened," I said calmly while holding her out right in front of me. Liz broke down sobbing and ran into my arms and I squeezed her tight. Her tears soaked up my shirt while she pulled on it. I ran my hand through her hair and asked her again what had happened.

"Samantha's sick because of her."

Karenella.
