Chapter 12: Not A Kiss

Elizabeth's POV

What is wrong with me? I couldn't stop thinking about Blake and I being together. It was just like when I had a crush on Nick in middle school.

Every word, every smile, every touch was remembered. I got chills when he grabbed my arm. I felt butterflies in my stomach when I heard his voice. I never thought I would feel this way again.

"Liz!" Blake yelled, shaking me out of my thoughts. We were laying down in the pool chairs that surrounded the Wave Pool.

"I'm sorry. What happened?"

"What's your favorite color?"

"Light blue. Why?"

"No reason. I was just making conversation." He looked out into the gigantic pool Xavier, Abby, Cici, and Angel were. All the couples.

"Well, what's your favorite color?"

"Dark blue." I saw a glimpse of a smile on his face. "Uh, what's you're favorite animal?"

"A unicorn." He gave me a full smile this time.

"Mine's a dragon."

"Why are we talking about dragons?" Max asked when he made his way over to us. He had gone to get a hot dog with Sophie.

"No reason." Blake got up out of his seat and held out his arm for me. "Let's go to the pool. The waves start soon."

"'Kay." I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up, resting his arm on my shoulders when I stood up.

"I want to come!" Max whined, flailing his arms in the air.

"You just ate, Max. You need to wait thirty minutes," Sophie informed, patting him on the back.

"That's a myth! I'm goin' in!" He ran towards the pool, almost ran into a little kid, and purposely fell into the water.

"He's so silly." Sophie walked then waded towards Max. I shook my head in amusement.

"Come on!" I yelled after a moment, pulling Blake's arm. He smiled and I guided him into the water. The waves had just started and everyone started to cheer.

"They're artificial waves, people!" Blake started to shout.

"Blake, stop." I started to laugh.

"What? It's not that serious. You don't cheer when a wave crashes at the beach." I loved his humor.

"You have a good point."

We started to play hide-and-seek since there were a lot of people until someone got annoyed by our yelling. After that, we saw that the gang had all come together so we joined in and talked for a while. I kept seeing Blake glance at me every once in a while as we laughed and played around. It was weird. I never had that happen to me. Or at least in the way Blake did it.

"Ahh!" I screamed when Blake pushed me into the hotel bed.

"I could of gotten screwed up!" He joined in on my laughter.

"But it's just funny, Blake. You slipped off the tube!"

"I'm not going to get through to you, am I?" He was now on top of me on the bed, my arms pinned down by his strong hands.

"Nope." I gave him a small smirk.

His face was once again, super close to my face. I didn't know what to do. What do you do in situations like this?! He closed his sparkling green eyes and leaned in closer. I felt his warm breath on my face. Our foreheads touching. It was like a movie until he closed his eyes harder and threw himself on his back. I sighed inside. Why didn't he kiss me? Did he like me? Why'd he do that?

But he just got up and left. I closed my eyes and shook myself out of my hopes.
