Chapter 10: Champions
"Heads up!" Xavier yelled just before a volleyball slammed into my face.
"Ow!" I screamed.
"I'm so sorry." He started to laugh.
"It's not funny!" I snapped back.
"Hey, can we take a break? I. Need. Water," Nick exasperated.
"Yea! Let's take a dip!" Blake yelled out. We all, except for parched Nick, ran towards the refreshing waters of the ocean. It wasn't too hot but it wasn't freezing. It was perfect.
"Aha! Angel!" Cici yelled when she found herself on Angel's shoulders.
"You guys are so cute," Sophie squealed.
"I know, right!" Cici yelled back right before Angel threw her of his shoulders. "I hate you," she said while she tried to fix her wet, messy hair.
"Aw, love you too," he said. "This is our way of communicating," he said to the rest of us. We all nodded.
"Oh, shit!" Blake yelled before we were consumed my a massive wave. We all started laughing when we saw what A hot mess we looked like afterwards.
"I don't want to die. I'm short. I'm leaving," Abby said walking out of the water. Xavier and Samantha followed her out.
"Well, that leaves us crazy people!" Max yelled before he plummeted under the water. Sophie giggled.
I decided to swim out a little more so I wouldn't smash into the waves. All the others didn't notice and were laughing, having a good time.
"How relaxing," I thought as I floated in the water. It was so peaceful. I could only hear muffled talking since my ears where submerged in the water. I thought about how we would walk the boardwalk and buy snow cones. I wanted this trip to be awesome. I also wanted to know why Blake was spending more time with me. We clearly had fun together. We liked singing. We were both wacky. What could go wrong? I knew I had to stop daydreaming. It got me in trouble.
"Hey, Rivers," I heard someone say. It was Blake. He only called me that.
"Yes?" I asked as I get out of my floating position.
"There's a big wave coming." He pointed to a gigantic wave that was heading straight to us. I looked at him and smiled. Right before it hit, I crouched under the ocean and heard a big crashing sound. When the water got settled, I popped my head out to find Blake staring me down with messed up hair.
"Oh, it's on!" He yelled, smiling. We backed up and waited for a big wave to hit.
"There's one!" I screamed. Blake pulled me right in front of him and lifted me out of the water.
"Aha! No!" I yelled, blocking myself from the impact. It didn't work. I still tumbled in the water and slid against the sand. When I was washed ashore, I witnessed Blake laughing his ass off at me from a distance right before a wave went ahead and slammed into his back. He found himself laying feet away from me on the shore. We both laughed at each other.
"You're crazy," I said, pulling him up next to me. We both sat up at the same time.
"Hey. At least I'm not the only one." He gave me a goofy smile and pulled me closer to him. I saw this as an invention to lay my head on his shoulders. He didn't seem to mind. I didn't even realize how late it was getting. The sun was almost about to set. But none of that mattered. I was with Blake.
"There's a karaoke place near hear. We should go," Blake finally said.
"Man. I thought I could get out of singing with you again."
"You never will."

"I've payed my dues," Xavier sung. All the guys were up on the stage. They'd had a few drinks and decided to sing We Are The Champions by Queen. "Time after time. I've done my sentence, but committed no crimes."
"And bad mistakes, I've made a few. I've had my share of sand kicked in my face but I've come through!" Angel yelled into the microphone. They were so drunk. It's funny to see what fake IDs can get you.
"We are the champions, my friends. And we'll keep on fightin' til' the end," Blake sang. All us girls were dying of laughter.
"We are the champions. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! No time for losers 'cause we are the champions of the world," the three of them sang. Blake came down, pulled Nick off his seat and dragged him up to the stage while he sang with them. Nick was very shy. I didn't know how Blake was going to make Nick Masters sing in front of a full house.
"I've taken my bows, and my curtain calls," Max started to sing. Sophie cheered vigorously. "You've brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it. I thank you all."
"But it's been no bed of roses. No pleasure cruise," Blake and Xavier joined in. Blake had shoved a beer down Nick's throat and he was getting pumped up. Nick took Blake's mike and put it up to his mouth.
"I consider it a challenge before the whole human race, and I ain't gonna lose!" Nick screamed. Everyone cheered and sang along. I literally couldn't breathe from all the laughter and cheering I did.
"We are the champions, my friends. And we'll keep on fightin' til' the end!" All the guys, Nick, Xavier, Blake, Max and Angel were now all singing along with their arms on each other's shoulders. Everyone was having a good time. Especially Blake. He had brought us here and had made all the guys get on stage and sing karaoke. And, every once in a while, he looked at me and smiled.
"We are the champions. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! No time for losers 'cause we are the champions..."

"You're drunk," I said to Blake who was hanging off my shoulder.
"No, you're drunk."
"Whatever." I smiled.
Once we got in the hotel room, Blake ran to the bed and laid down. I did the same thing.
"You know, I like you, Elizabeth." He said drunk-seriously.
"Me too." I chuckled.
"No, like, I want to kiss you. Now." My eyes soon widened. He liked me? No. He was drunk. He was just saying random stuff...
"Yea, right."
"No. I'm serious. Come here and kiss me." He pulled me towards him as we sat crisscrossed on the bed.
"Don't do something you'll regret."
"I won't remember this." He whispered. I hope he didn't. It was weird.
He looked at me in the eyes and drunkenly smiled. He closed his eyes and kissed me on my forehead. I was confused but relieved. I wanted him to kiss me but it wasn't right. He was drunk and I was the only one who would remember it. But he still kissed me. Oh, Blake kissed me, on the cheek. It wasn't that big of a deal. Or at least I though it wasn't.
