The Fight.
Landing on Erik, Hank pulled the man ot the ground and the rolled in the street. People everywhere were screaming and filming th efight with their cameras as Hank slammed Erik into the water fountain and held his head under water. Erik clawed at Hank, swinging his hands around, trying to break free but he'd never encountered anyone as strong as Hank.
"You're Logan, that's my girlfriend, Jax. Don't you remember?" asked Charles insid ethe hotel. Logan was still panting, Charles' hand moving up and down with the man's shoulders. Jax was calming herself behind Charles, trying to grasp the animal inside of her and pushing down so she didn't hurt herself or anyone else. "I'm Charles Xavier, you've spent the last couple of days with us." Charles tried convincing Logan of who he was but gave up and said, "You're on acid." which seemed to calm Logan down a little, somehow. "Somebody gave oyu really bad acid, yeah?"
Outside, fences began to shake, making people step back, car levitated off the ground, all moving toward the fountain where Hank and Erik still strugged agaisnt one another. Erik let go of all the oxygen collected in his lungs and moved the metal statue sticking out of the middle of the fountain to grab Hank's limbs and pull him into the air, his hands and legs sprawled out, putting him on display.
Hank's chest heaved with exhaustion and defeated as he watched Erik walk away and looked around at all the photographers around him, snapping pictures. He roared and wriggled out of his metal restraints, jumping off his humiliating display. Running on all fours, he bounded throught the crowd.
"Professor?" Logan asked. "Jax?"
"What happened to you?" Jax asked, calmed down heself to the point of being able to converse.
"I just saw someone that's going to bring me a lot of pain someday." he said quietly. "Where's Raven?"
"Gone." Charles answered.
"What?" Logan asked.
"We have to get out of here." Charles said, grabbing Jax's hand and running out the door with her, Logan in pursuit behind them. Outside, people screamed and filmed and bumped into one another, hotel security pushed back crowds.
Jax, Logan and Hank makde it back to their car and on the road to the airport. Jax wondered how they got so close, how everything was going the way it shoudl and then it all hit the fan. How could that happen? She stared stright ahead and soaked up the silence as her punishment. Charles' thumb moved over her hand the whole way to the airport and across the Atlantic Ocean and the the mansion. So much silence until they walked through the doors, Charles almost couldn't stand it until it all hit him at once and he prayed for the silence again.
He screamed and fell to the ground. "Jax!" he screamed out ptifully, almost pleading as if her touch could heal his head, make the voices quiet again, she coul be his serum.
"Charles!" she cried, dropping to the floor wiht him. She cradled his head as he screamed in agony. "Shhh, my love." she cooed in a voice that made him turn to liquid. "Hank..." she looked up at him with pleading eyes and, without a word, he took off.
"I-I hear them, Jax, please make it stop!" he screamed. She put her hands over his, which he had pressed against his ears.
"I can't, darling, you know I can't. I'm so sorry. Please, just hold on until Hank gets back. He's on his way, my love, just breathe." she hated seeing him that. "Charles," she held his head to her chest. Logan looked at them in a pile on the floor, Jax didn't look anywhere but his crying eyes, which seemed to soothe him in the slightest, he ssqueezed her ams and shoulders, her body, so hard Logan knew there would be bruises there later so I pulled Charles by the arms off the floor and sat him down on the steps.
"Hey, pull yourself together, it's not over yet." Logan said and Charles got an almost sinister look in his eyes, mixing with the pain and suffereing of other peoples lives.
"You don't believe that." Charles said.
"How do you know?"
"As these go, he tapped his legs, which were completely limp. "This..." he pointed at his head. "Comes back." his voice faltered and he looked back to Jax. "They're all coming back." he rewached out for her and she let him grip her face tightly between his hands as he cried out agian and she helped him out of his jacket, sadly watching as he pulled his hands away from her face to unbutton his shirt sleeve.
"Look, I'm still here, she's still out there." Logan said, pacing away from them. "And we need your help, Charles. Not like this, I need you. We can't find Raven, not wihtout your powers." Logan told him, earnign Charle's attention, pulling him from his withdrawls until Hank came back down the stairs.
"I added a little extra because you missed a dose."
"Charles," Logan began as Charles held out his arm, ready to inject the serum. Hank turned away, so he didn't have to se it but Jax, chest stayed pressed against his knees, her hands on his lower back, holding him as he stared at his veins.
Charles' hyperfocus on the needle and rather the yellow liquid inside it caused him to almost miss the look in Jax's eyes. He never had to read her thoughts. She was pleading at his feet, asking him with the most sinsertiy the wrold had ever seen to put the needle down without saying a single word.
He sighed, in between filling his blood with that drug or dropping it forever for Jax. She blinked and that was all it took for him to press his hand against the floor, with the syringe between his skin and the wood. Her mouth twitched into a smile, sucha proud smile.
