01 | For Sure

FOR SURE.

How Hye-in loved attention.

She got numerous pairs of eyes fixating on her, mouths whispering things about her and minds having her inside. Basically everything about her. Her, her, her—and only her.

That 18-year-old girl locked her phone, letting the screen showed only a black blank. She didn't forget to fix her muted-brown hair, technically running her slender fingers through that silky-smooth hair, then tucking some behind her right ear. All of that just to make a single further movement; standing up from the bus-stop bench.

As she stood up, she shifted her gaze on the guy who was awaiting in that black Audi, who was no other than her loyal boyfriend, Kim Taehyung. He had a cool smile on his face, which Hye-in returned it with a sweet one. She started arranging her way to the car, swaying her hips a little bit when she heard the other students continued whispering.

"Is that him? Is that her boyfriend?"

"Yes, it's him."

"Woah, how handsome."

"How lucky to have him picking you up from school. I'm so jealous."

Hye-in's lips slowly curved up, forming a small smirk to hear what were they whispering. She reached in front of the door and waited for nothing to get inside the car.

"You're such an attention seeker, sweetie. Look at how many eyes you got on you," Taehyung uttered once she closed the door.

Like an automatic machine, her smirk grew wider. That was what she always wanted—everybody looking at her, whispering things about her, having her in the minds, admiring her, fangirl-ing over her, envying her—every thing because of her, Hwang Hye-in, because she loved how it felt like, to have the power. The power of perfection. The power of admiration. The power of importance. Hye-in wanted to be someone which every guy would drool over, and someone which every other girl would idolize on.

"And that makes me aware that I'm very lucky to have you," Taehyung continued and tickled the girl's chin, making her smirk faded into a sweet smile.

He returned the smile, then shifting his attention to his Cartier watch on his left wrist. "It's 9:38 pm. Wanna eat something?"

"Yup! I'm pretty hungry now," Hye-in stated.

"Then let's go chew some rice cakes!" the guy announced whilst hands were taking their place onto the steering wheel.

After a couple of minutes on the road, the couple had arrived at the Gwangjang Market, a market that opened from 8:30 am until 11 pm. Taehyung went out to get them some spicy rice cake and some drinks at the nearest stall. Dealing and waiting for about six minutes, the guy came back and settled himself in the driver seat again. He handed Hye-in the medium-sized bowl filled with the spicy meal and placed down the two drinks in the holder.

Taehyung continued to drive off, now heading to the younger girl's house. Some relaxing musics were turned on as they enjoyed the ride, both mouths having the chewy, cylinder-shaped rice cakes that had been drowned in a spicy red pepper sauce inside. Taehyung, being a non-spicy avid he was, particularly because of his low spicy tolerance, took and ate the food lesser than Hye-in.

That girl just kept munching, the salty taste which mixed with the delicious hot and spicy made the food taste even mouth-watering. It was as if she was in her own world; taking another piece of rice cakes without any doubt, putting it into her mouth, shutting her eyes together as she chewed it. The spiciness was heaven. It had always been Hwang Hye-in's second heaven, wherein the first was of course, being everyone's fabulous ideal girl.

They made it to her house, the car stopped right in front of the gate which was securing the huge modern two-floored house. Hye-in finished chewing the countless piece of rice cakes as she turned to look at Taehyung.

He smiled. "Just take it all if you want, sweetie."

Hye-in bubbly flashed the latter a smile. "Okie dokie. Drive safe. Goodnight, Tae."

Taehyung nodded. Understanding the situation that he wouldn't be getting any kiss from that girl tonight because of her full mouth, he began to make the movement. He held both of her jaws as he leaned forward, letting his nose brushed against her soft skin on the cheek, then pecking it long.

"Goodnight, sweetie. Dream me." He winked.

"Of course." Hye-in playfully rolled her eyes, then got out of the car.

She stepped closer to the gate, waiting as it automatically opened, and made her way inside to head to the main front doors. Taehyung on the other side, was still waiting for that girl to safely get into the house. He watched as she punched in the password, pushing the door as it was unlocked, then finally getting inside. With that being ensured, that guy began to drive off to his own shelter.

Hye-in closed the door back and was about to walk straight upstairs when someone spoke out of nowhere.

"I'm so close to getting you grounded, young lady."

She turned her gaze to the voice's direction, making her eyes directly contacted with the other pair, which looked as if it was holding the fire. There were also the two other persons—her mom and elder sister, Yeji—who were watching her from the sofa. She focused back to her dad who was still waiting for her answer.

"I think I didn't do something wrong?" was all she blurted out.

Her words didn't help cure the situation any better. Instead, they made her dad—the guy who was always well-known as the calmest and the coolest CEO of his successful company—for the first time clenching his jaws.

"Hye-in." He paused to sigh, knowing that he was dealing with his youngest daughter. "I told you to go home with Taehee, but you didn't. You kept wanting to come home with that guy, later than you're supposed to even."

"I don't see what's wrong with that, dad," Hye-in spoke with an exhausted tone, knowing how he always wanted to assume bad things about Taehyung.

"You don't? But we do, Hye-in. I didn't know him very well that I can't let you be with him this easily."

"It's okay, dad, Taehyung is reliable. Goodnight." She tiredly smiled, worn out enough to prolong the argument and walked upstairs, heading towards her room.

Being in the senior year made her life become very hectic, considering the fact that seniors were mostly pressured to do their best to get into the top universities. Plus, now, her family was being entirely overprotective of her. However, as if luck was on her side, there was Kim Taehyung to brighten up her days. They couldn't just understand how he could help her relax even though by only seeing his presence.

The moment where Taehee asked her something replayed in her mind.

"What's the preference you look in a guy?"

"One word with infinite meanings; perfect."

"Gimme details, girl."

"Details? Well—model-like handsomeness, hotter than summers, but can still explode me by his lovely cuteness, tall, smart, gentleman, diligent, skillful, sporting, charming, rich and popular. Perfect. A total package."

She had a firm mindset; she would only date someone who had those perfect criteria. And perfect fitted Taehyung. Hye-in smirked a little bit. They'd love him. Everybody would love him, and that was for sure.
