Minki
[Story from now on is no longer in diary entry form but will be in no ones point of view (third person omniscient) Still slightly focusing on Haneul]
"Wake up loser" Jaehyun says as he pushes Haneul his breath smelling of cigarettes.
"Where's Hoon?" Haneul asks looking at the empty bed besides him.
"Waking up the others, who knows what he likes about you if I was him I would've woken you up, I'd give no special treatment" he says rolling his eyes he leaves Haneul alone in his room to get changed into one of the only shirts that he owns.
Haneul gets out half asleep to see Jaejoon and Taebin brushing their teeth next to eachother.
"Move your elbow" Taebin says his tooth brush at the side of his mouth
Jaejoon pushes his body into Taebin's side, "oops sorry" Jaejoon says and they start fighting as they brush their teeth.
Haneul moves away from the door frame and look into the room that has some of the nice members in it also known as Mike and Minki.
"Minki" Haneul says as Minki is in the middle of changing his shirt.
"Where's mike?" Haneul asks him,Minki pulls his shirt down and looks at him. "Already in the van"
"We can go?" Haneul asks confused
"Yeah it's leaving in ten minutes"
"Are you kidding I just woke up, I haven't even brushed my teeth"
Minki takes a piece of gum out of his jean pocket and hands it out to him.
"You're a life saver" Haneul takes it from his hand and pops it in his mouth and both of them beat the rap line out the door as they rush to the van only having five minutes left.
"Now where is the rap line" Jungshin asks
"I heard Hoon trying to pull them out of the bathroom" Minki says with a sigh as they squeeze close together right behind the drivers seat. Haneul's shoulder brushed against Minki's trying not to accidentally push him more towards the window.
"I never did get to take a good look at your hair" Haneul whispers and Minki turns to face him, as best as he can.
"Well the first time you saw it was in dark at three in the morning of course you couldn't see it" he laughs
"Now look who's acting formal" Haneul says as he nudges him playfully, "it looks good on you" he add and Minki smiles.
"Gay" Jaehyun mutters as he takes his hands out of his jean pockets, his old black jacket most likely hiding those cigarettes of his. Nothing's wrong with smoking, Haneul just wishes Jaehyun wouldn't do something that could harm the group especially since they just debuted also Haneul doesn't have the best impression of him so he wouldn't mind if he got caught.
Hoon pushes Jaejoon's shoulder and tells him to get in the van.
"I'm not gay" Minki whispers almost inaudible looking down at his hands.
The ride is silent all the way there except for the rap line still fighting about almost being late and the actor who tells them to shut up so he can try to sleep for a few more minutes.
When they all get out Haneul pulls Minki back as the others move forward, Haneul takes a deep breath
"There's nothing wrong if you were I mean.. um gay anyways he shouldn't have said that" he says finally speaking his mind about what happened the moment Jaejoon opened the van door.
Minki just smiles at him and they both pick up the pace to catch up to everyone else, Minki still slightly behind Haneul.
Minki would be offended but he isn't, he really isn't for one reason, he is gay and he has to hide it and hearing those words come out of Haneul's mouth made him feel safe, made him feel welcomed.
The first day Minki was a trainee he was pushed into a room with a bunch of sweaty boys all having the same dream as him. He was one of the youngest at the age of fifteen. They all danced a dance from a popular idol group over and over again. Being yelled at that they should all know this dance in two seconds since it was popular at the time.
Minki in fact didn't know the song. One day in the middle of practice the huge room of boys was cut down into groups that would be trained separated. He was in a group of fourteen other guys. On their second day of training together a recently debuted girl group walked in.
"Minki, go buy us something to eat" This girl who called herself Candy said and Minki was stunned. Why should he out of everyone in the room have to go and buy food. Because he was the youngest? Because they thought he'd fall head over heals for them?
"No" Minki said and a guy tried to hide his laugh. Candy shot Minki a dirty look, "Buy me something to eat" she said between clenched teeth. She didn't want to be told no to buy a simple trainee. Ironic that a girl with such a sweet name could be the devil.
"I'll buy it" A fellow trainee Andy spoke up. She just rolled her eyes and left them alone. Andy smiled at Minki and mouthed "don't let her push you around" Later Andy and Minki were alone in the dance studio, both laying down on the hard floor.
"Candy, she has been like that even since she was a trainee, she thinks those B cups of hers will make all the guys fall head over heals for her. She actually got a few boys kicked out for being late for practice" Andy said
"Theres only a slight chance we will debut together, but if we do you can depend on me, if we don't, find me, I can show you the way" Andy added and they both sat up and shook hands.
"deal" Minki said and that was the day he grew close to one of the only trainees that would talk to him as a friend. Andy was seventeen when they first met but he still talked to Minki as if they were the same age.
Day after day for a year they worked hard together. Andy protected Minki from getting into bad situations, he knew some of the other tranee he knew what they were capable of. But then they were split up into different groups and later Andy left to go to another company. Minki never saw him again.
The last day he saw Andy, Andy was walking away from the building, he turned back to notice Minki following close behind.
"I'm leaving to go to another company, I guess we won't be debuting together" He said with a small smile. Minki felt like crying, he felt his heart being crushed into a million pierces. He felt like the candy bar he had snuck in to the building, he held the candy bar righter, breaking it as his heart broke.
"We might meet again on stage, deal?" Andy asked walking closer, he put his hand out. A wave of nostalgia waved over Minki as he remembered their first deal.
"Deal" he said holding out his empty hand, they shook hands and Andy noticed the candy bar. "Before I go, let me buy you another one" Andy said pointing to the candy bar, Minki shook his head wanting to run away, run back into the practice room sing out his feelings or dance in frustration. But he followed Andy into a convince store.
"how about a chocolate bar" Andy asked picking up his favorite kind. "this one is the best" He added buying it for Minki and then he smiled widely. "Until we meet again Minki" He bowed lightly a sign of respect towards his friend and then he walked away, his blue sweater hugging onto his body tightly, his black jeans loosely hugging his legs.
Minki realized that over that one year they were together. He fell in love with him, the way he talked, the way he walked. How low pitched his singing was, the way his jaw moved when he had something he wanted to say. After Andy was out of view Minki walked back to the company building, he threw the chocolate bar away forcefully, letting go of the only thing he had left to remember Andy.
He practiced hard, lots of trainees still looked down on him but he didn't have Andy there to protect him, he took the harsh words. But he never ever bought Candy anything. She gave up bothering him and moved on to someone else.
"Will I meet you here Andy?" Minki whispers under his breath
"What was that?" Haneul asks looking back
"Oh nothing" Minki says with a huge smile as he enters the dressing room
