Prison Break
The tallest grabbed my shoulders and spun me around. "Hold him still, Aki." The little one said. "Then hurry up." His voice was light, like he was making a joke, but the pitch was deep, nearly a baritone sound. "Hi there, Saito. I'm Kito. Nice to be your breakout partner." He mumbled to me as he stepped behind me. I heard a click. Both pairs of handcuffs fell to the floor. "But... I only popped one pair." Kito mumbled to Aki. "Yeah. I picked a cop's pocket and got a pen. It's ridiculously easy to pick these cuffs." I rubbed my wrists and stretched. "Wow. Thanks." I jumped up onto the table and popped the clip off the pen. I started unscrewing the vent. "Woah, woah. What are you doing?" Nishiki asked me. "Getting out." I deadpanned. "We can walk you out. Come on." How do I know I can trust them? I heard a lot of heavy footsteps. "Yeah, let's go." I left the vent, stuffed my hands into my pockets, and followed Nishiki out of the interrogation room. Surprisingly, no one questioned them when they led me out of the department. "Well that was anticlimactic." I said to no one in particular. He pulled out his phone. "Hey Shizu, I have a surprise for you so I'm making dinner tonight to make up for it."
I heard some shuffling. "Make up for what? What did you do?" She asked him. "Nothing, nothing. It's a surprise, so you'll see when you get back from work." She groaned. "Okay. Fine. Love you." She said. "Love you too, Shizu. And no worries, okay?" He mumbled. "Okay. I'll see you when I get home." I waited for them all to leave, to do something other than stare at me. They motioned to the van behind them. I got in and they shut the door behind me. I feel like I'm going to regret this...
