08 Chapter Eight ~~~

Year 2017, December 08

My feet hit hard on the pavement as I raced towards the bus. I was late as it was, I didn't want to miss my chance.

"Appa! Appa!" I shouted as loud as I could when the bus came to my sight, making the grey haired man turn towards me. Telling something to the man he was with he stepped aside so we could talk alone.

Skidding to a halt beside him, I bent with my hands on my knees, catching my breath. My father patted my back, followed by a chuckle.

"Eun-Ha you need to be a bit more athletic."  He said trying to sound disappointed, only he was laughing at me.

Whining I stood up with a pout.

"Okay, what did you want early in the morning?" He asked me sounding more serious now.

"Ah, here." I said, pulling out a CD from my bag and handing it to him. "Mummy also called. She told to tell you call her back because she has something important she wants to talk to you about. Also Il-Song caught the flu so she asked us not to visit for Christmas holidays, but said she'd send us food through Min-Ajusshi and to spend it together with Ha-Jun oppa."

"Oh, my cute daughter. You finished this already?" He asked taking the CD from my hand looking so relieved. I scrunched my nose, wondering if he heard half of anything else I just ranted at him.

"Appa." I complained making him laugh.

"I heard you, I heard you. I'll call your mother and talk to her." He said kissing the top of my head. "And be safe on your way, alright?"

Smiling I nodded my head, stepping away from him so that he could move on.

"Also, come early to the venue! I'm short on a few hands." He called back as he joined the rest of the crew. I nodded my head in agreement.

"Ha-ya." A voice called from the back of the bus. Turning around I found Jungkook standing on by the back door, waving me over.

Laughing, I walked over to him.

"Morning Jungkookssi." I greeted when I was close to him, giving a bow. Well a month of hanging around and he no longer acted awkward around me. I think it's mostly because I give him space. I mean I had a pretty hands on relationship with the rest of the boys - they really loved hugging and hanging off each other.

Jungkook's and my relationship wasn't the same. We talked and exchanged greetings but it was pretty much hands off for us.

He frowned and flicked my forehead making me cry out in pain.

"Jungkook. Or Kookie is fine too." He told me sternly before grinning at me. "So did you bring it?" He asked hopping where he stood.

Oh, he really looked like an excited bunny.

That was one thing about him I still couldn't get used to. Even Jimin's sudden personality change from sexy to cute was easy to catch on. This boy was always cute - his sexy persona switched on only in front of the camera. And I still couldn't believe how adorable he gets.

Nodding my head, I dropped my bag to the floor, and dug inside until I found the shopping bag. Pulling it out, I handed it over to him.

"Oh, Jungkook-ah, what's that?" Jimin came out of nowhere, peering over the younger boys shoulder. Well, considering he was standing on a step above Jungkook he didn't have to stand on his tip toes.

Grinning widely - showing of his teeth - he pulled a packet of chips out of the bag.

"When did you ask Eun-Ha all this?" Taehyung - leaning over the backseat - questioned.

"This morning, when we were getting ready." Jungkook answered already digging into the bag.

"Oh, when did you two become such good friends?" Jimin asked wiggling his eyebrows at both of us suggestively. Jungkook gave a noncommittal shrug and went on eating. I only just smiled, not sure of the answer either.

"Why didn't you ask me Kookie? You knew I was coming earlier than Eun-Ha." Ha-neul asked appearing from the back of the bus. She ran her hand along his arm with a pout.

"Oh, I didn't think of that." He replied, scratching the back of his head. His ears turned bright red when she touched him, but he didn't brush her off.

"Why Ha-ya then?" V, who was oblivious to Jungkook's crush on Ha-neul, wiggled his eyebrows. I sometimes don't understand how they never notice it. The last thing Jungkook was being was subtle.

"Hmm, she's always picking things for Yoongi Hyung." He replied.

" Yah Jungkook! Find your own errand girl." Yoongi yelled from behind me, his arms wrapping around my waist. "Eun-Ha is only allowed to go shopping for me." He added, squeezing me to him.

My back was pressed against his chest and his chin was leaning on my shoulder.

"Ah, Hyung!" Jungkook protested pouting.

This only made me and the three boys to laugh at him. And that was exactly when the cameraman walked upto us. I quickly rushed out of Suga's arms and out of the camera's angle. I mean even if he does catch me and Suga hugging it could always be edited out, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Just in case it made it to the cut - because Jungkook, Jimin and V were answering the question.

I stayed behind the cameraman, when I remembered that I still had to go to school. Grabbing my phone, I sent a quick text to Suga saying I'll meet him in the arena after school, before racing out of the parking.

I took the bus, because I was late and my school was a fifteen minutes walk from BigHit.

I totally forgot to get a backstage pass from my father earlier, and security wouldn't let me in. Scratching my head I chewed on my lip wondering what to do. The concert will start in exactly six hours.

Their was a lot of work still left to be done. Which meant I can't exactly call for anyone to come and let me in. The boys would be too busy practising last minutes details. Sejin would also be with them taking care of the last minutes details. Same with my father and everyone else I knew.

Argh! What do I do?

And that's exactly when AugstD started playing in my phone.

"Eun-Ha! Where are you!" Suga demanded near me.

"Ur- right outside the arena." I replied contemplating whether to tell him my predicament or not. I didn't want to disturb him in case he was still practising.

"Oh good, then get to the stage ASAP." He shouted before cutting the line. Well, that's Suga for you alright. Now what to do?  And that was exactly when a van pulled up to the entrance. I instantly recognised Soona Unnie, head of the decorations department. She was someone I worked with constantly way back when I first met Suga (before my father became one of the video editors).

"Soona unnie!" I called waving my hand in the air to get her attention. I rushed over to the van before they could leave.

"Eun-Ha!" Unnie greeted me with a smile. "What're you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be helping your father backstage?" She asked stepping closer to whisper.

"I am, but forgot to get a backstage pass from him this morning and security won't let me in." I told, my cheeks colouring pink with embarrassment. Chuckling she handed me two bags of confetti to take in and instructed security to let me in.

After delivering the bag to it's respective place - and getting a backstage employee pass - I hurried to the stage where the boys were practising. Nope, I hadn't forgotten Suga's request.

They were in the middle of a choreography so I walked down the stage and sat down to wait for him to finish. He saw me before the dance actually finished.

"We can set up the Fire background, Eun-Ha's here." He said pointing me out.

Startled that he had just stopped - and interrupted - the one they were practising, I jumped to my feet. I looked around to see everyone looking at me. I hurriedly bow to everyone, even the boys who were waving at me from stage.

One of the workers rushed to me and gave me an in-ear phone. Then explained that my father had kept everyone on standby until I got here to do background set up. Why he didn't ask someone more experienced do this was beyond me.

I was given instructions to stand directly in front of the centre stage.

Nodding head, I fixed my in-ear phone and stood centre stage as the boys got into position.

"Ready?" Someone called and consent came from many sides, along with mine and the boys. Then they started dancing and I just had to tell father whatever was amiss and adjust the big-screen view. Once we went through a set of routines, I had to run all the way to the balcony seats to make sure everything was perfect from their as well.

After everything was set up in stage, which took two hours, most of the time I had to run to stage and back to the balcony. Finally when everything was perfect, I had to go find father so we could go over volume control - which was where I'd be working during the concert.

Once I entered the underground control room, I found my father busy with his partner in editting. Greeting the two, I was then introduced to the two boys on sound control I'd be working with.

They weren't from BigHit, but they were pretty friendly and very patient in explaining things to me when I didn't understand instructions - mostly out of them talking too fast.

We had to work closely with the boys to set the volumes right for the audience and their in-ear phone, so we constantly got requests from the boys and adjusted the volumes according to how they wanted it.

Finally it was six and everyone was released for a rest before the show started in two hours.

Well, though we were released their was still a lot of things to get done before the show started. So only taking a five minutes break - for water, food and washroom - we were back in the control room.

Time sure flew, because before we knew it it was already 8:00. The seats were all filled up, and A.R.M.Y's cheers could be heard all the way here, and they screamed for the boys.

The concert was about to start.
