Should I Continue?
Tragedy. You'd think that after enough tragedies in your life the universe would give you a break, right? Wrong. It had been just a week since both Landon and his family were caught in the middle of a car crash. Everyone had turned out ok in the beginning, thanks to his over protective sister Carrie and her obsession with seat belts, but the strangest thing had happened afterwards. After the tug of the seat-belt kept his family close to the backs of their seats, the taxi that had been barreling down the wrong side of a one way street opened. Out came a muscular man sporting a ski mask, followed by two other men. A duffel bag was being tugged behind them, and while Landon (and his father, he was sure of it) began to squirm in our seats in order to be free of the one thing that saved our lives, one of the equally as sweaty men grabbed the duffel bag and in one motion slid it into the shattered window of the Honda. All five members of the Bohr family jumped in fear, including 13 month old Sasha, for the bag had landed into Landon's lap. The man stood in front of the mutilated car, holding eye contact directly with him, motioning towards the bag. Despite the repetitive alarms ringing in his own head, Landon held the silver zipper and began to unzip the dark green tote. And in that moment, he held enough money to last him 5 lifetimes over. Unsure of what to do, he let go of the zipper as if it'd burned his already tender hand. Looking up at the obscure vision of a man in front of him, the boy let out a squeak, intended to sound more like a grunt. Much like a failed version of Simba from The Lion King. Clearing his throat and gradually closing the bag, he put on his best poker face.
"What's this for?" He asked. The man quietly shrugged, either unaware or entirely too aware of the police sirens steadily increasing in the background.
