"Uchiha Madara huh?" Hiruzen said after a long silence. Teruya grimaced.

"I...don't really want to say anything much. From now one, information I have wouldn't be so accurate. The times are changing already."

Time passed as the time-traveller started explaining various important events that would happen during this time.

"...and regarding the 3rd Shinobi War, it ends."

The two men took in a breath, expecting some twist. And of course there was.

"You'd sign a peace treaty with one of the villages. One thing I would say is that the Kannabi bridge mission is the turning point of our entire history."

'Hey kit, are you sure about this?' a deep voice growled, taking the blond away from reality.

Teruya froze.

Was he really sure about this?

Was this a wise choice?

No.

It wasn't.

But he's a fool. An annoyingly smart fool.

"Our team will take on the Kannabi bridge mission. We don't need any back up either."

"H-huh?" Minato and Hiruzen were a bit surprised at that bold statement. "What do you mean Teruya-san?" the Hokage asked. He was no wise old sage but he knew a speech when it was coming.

"Yeah. Team 7 will succeed this mission." He raised a fist. "I'll protect Konoha cuz I never go back on my word'dattebayo!"

...is what he said, but sometimes, the world just seems to know what you're planning to do and sends some distraction. And that's exactly what was happening.

"You've been with us for a while, but can you really handle a team? From the looks of it, I don't really thing so."

An arrow pierced Teruya's head.

"Well, I guess Bakashi is actually right about this one." Obito agreed nodding his head. 

"Heh as if you ever are." Kakashi shot back at the Uchiha and it seemed to be effective.

"Oh shut up!" the Uchiha retorted with his face a bit red. Rin could only give a small laugh. She didn't mean to be rude, but for this one, she agreed as well.

'Seems like the great Uzumaki Naruto has been downgraded by some mere children.' Kurama snickered.

A second arrow pierced his head.

"Oh just be quiet Kurama." Teruya mumbled under his breath. Of course he had absolutely ZERO experience in handling a team. 

And very much like a cliché situation, there were a lot of holes in Teruya's plan. Why did he think that it would be easy?

"Why does Minato-sensei have to have another mission today." Obito mumbled.

And a third arrow again. Blood dripped down his mouth alarming Rin.

"Teruya-san! Are you alright?!" Rin shook the teen by the shoulders while a little ghost left his body.

Teruya quickly regained his composure and got up from the ground. "Ahem! Anyway, we've been assigned a mission so we gotta have a plan first!"

"So what's the mission?" Obito asked.

"I was getting to that." he said giving a small playful glare to the younger boy. "So seems like there is some suspicious activity going on in the borders of Konoha and Kusagakure. I don't really know much about the country but its suspected that the Iwa nins have set up a secret base there. We should confirm its existence and return to Konoha." Teruya explained.

"And we are ordered not to engage in battle no matter the situation." 

"And why our team particularly?" Rin asked this time. 

"Hmm well I'm not really sure about that." the teen replied, he himself not knowing the reason.

"Hmmmm, I actually wonder what these weird looking balls do Kurama. Any idea?" the blond asked looking up to the giant fox sitting in the middle of his mindscape.

'I'm not sure either Naruto. They very much look like the Truth Seeking balls but I cannot feel any intense chakra from it.' the fox answered. It was strange for him not knowing it either since he was created by the Sage of Six Paths blah blah blah.

"Real strange..." Naruto hummed before sighing. "So why did you call me? Getting lonely eh Kurama?" he teased.

'Shut up Naruto.' 

Naruto chuckled. Ahhh, when was the last time since he'd had such a warm conversation with someone close to him?

The blond got up and held one of the orbs.

"Maybe it'll work if I send some chakra into it?" he tried guessing and he did exactly. As soon as the chakra touched the surface of the orb, it lit up with bright colors.

'Hey Naruto! Don't do anything weird!' Kurama growled as he got up from his comfortable position to shield his Jinchuriki and himself from the light.

The cries of a baby filled the place.

Naruto gasped from the sudden surprise.

"W-What is that Kurama?" he asked cautiously. Was it a ghost? Did he finally lose it?

"Stay healthy Naruto. Eat your vegetables and stay away from Jiraiya. He's a real pervert." His eyes widened. Those words. That voice!

"Kaa-chan...?"

Kurama was also slightly surprised by the visual image right before him. What was he seeing right now? It was like a television. But the images seem to be floating on the air. Like a Genjutsu.

"What is this Kurama?! Why are we seeing this??" the teen asked, not understanding what was going on.

'I think I know what's going on here Naruto. Just do as I say alright?' Kurama replied and received a nod from Naruto.

'Go fill it with chakra but think of something else. Like your teammates or the war.'

"Alright'dattebayo!" Naruto did as he was told, focusing real hard on the people he thought about. Sakura, Sasuke, Sai Team 7. Shikamaru, Choji, Ino Team 10, Hinata, Kiba and Akamaru, Shino Team 8 and Neiji, TenTen and Lee Team 3, his friends from the village.

"Poor Hinata-sama." Neiji said out of pure worry for the girl. "But why are we both separated from the others and tied up tightly like this to the boot?!"

"I do not know." the eyebrow guy answered. "Apparently we, especially you Neiji, gives Sakura-san the chills if we're near her."

"What have I ever done?!" Neiji burst. "This is outrageous!" TenTen walked up the Neiji as she blindfolded the Hyuga.

"I'm sorry Neiji but apparently this is necessary too." Neiji grit his teeth as he let out a small whisper.

"Why God? Why?"

"Oi, are you sure this is gonna work out Ino?" the concerned boy asked. More like concerned about his dignity. 

"This is all to help Sakura!" the girl replied with a huff. The first voice sighed. 

"Hmmm, why don't you put this on Choji!" the pink haired girl exclaimed as she seemed like she had remembered something. She pulled out a mask with a red "X" on it.

"I'm sorry Shikamaru but when you swing, could you smile like an idiot as well?" Sakura asked. The Nara hesitantly looked to his teammate.

Ino looked to him with a glare. "Come on Shikamaru!" She violently started pushing the swing the boy was sitting on.

"Aghhhh!!! I can't believe I'm taking so much psychological damage..." the bug user collapsed as he let go of the Venus flytrap he was holding.

A small voice spoke to Shino.

"H-Hang in there Shino-kun. We're all in the same boat." Hinata stuttered slightly out of embarrassment. "But it's all for Sakura-san's sake." she reasoned as the view slowly panned up to reveal the Hyuga heiress with her rather revealing clothes.

"I'm the Hidden Leaf's top canine handler. I know this is all for a friend. But being demoted to a cat handler?!" Kiba cringed.

Akamaru whined as he slid down the slide with his "cat" head band.

"Hey, is this when Sakura-chan told me that apparently another Sakura appeared or something?" Naruto asked as his eyes widened at the similar situation Sakura had told him about a long time ago.

'So I was right.'

"What do you mean?" Naruto asked. 

The fox sighed. 'Dumbass.'

He slowly started explaining everything with great detail, the theories and the formula behind it. But being the idiot he was, Naruto of course did not understand much. Kurama could only sigh at his foolishness. Even that Boruto kid whom they had met before was smarter. Of course Naruto did not know of this.

His memories were wiped off. But never mind that now.

"So it's a giant TV screen?" Naruto concluded.

'Yes! Uggh finally.' Kurama grumbled.

So those orbs actually allowed him to see events as if it was recorded like the Crystal Ball thing the Sandaime had. Teruya had gone through many of them mostly regarding the missions the Team 7 of this Era had gone through. But this mission never came up.

Why?

Was it because of his arrival?

"Kakashi, Obito, Rin, listen to this noise. If you ever hear it, leave the place. It means mission accomplished." Teruya said in a half whisper as he instructed the younger children. The sound he made seemed a bit melodious but it had a darker feel to it behind.

"But if you hear this," he paused to make a very unique sounding noise. "...all three of you head to 3 'o' clock alright? And if you meet anyone, and I mean anyone, use this."

The blond teen handed over a seal to all three of them. Obito stared at them. "Why would we need this Teruya-san?" he asked as he traced his hand over the worn out paper, a bit curious about the red spots on it.

"It'll conceal your chakra for a while. 15 minutes at most. Keep Rin safe since she's a chunnin medic."

"We'll be meeting up at North-East if I ever sound it though alright? Nothing else." he warned. His eyes stayed on Kakashi a little longer than the other two.

"What?" Kakashi finally asked. Teruya looked to the younger boy.

"You...You're a strong guy and I know that Kakashi but..." he paused to find the right words. "Care for your comrades a bit alright?"

His eyes were glazed with what seemed a thin layer of glass that could be shattered at the small blow of the wind. Kakashi just stared before replying with a small "yes sir". He had no choice. The shinobi rules stated that you had to listen to the orders of the captain, no matter the cost.

Teruya got up and dusted his pants.

"Yosh! So I'll be leaving now! See ya!"

       In a flash, he had disappeared. The other three could only watch in amazement. One day, a boy just pops out of no where calling himself an Uzumaki when the only other Uzumaki in the village was Kushina-san. Then suddenly he joins the team and Minato-sensei was not wary of him either.

And then next thing, he's kicking ninja butts like it's nothing!

Who the hell was he?

He seemed kind, cheerful and he always smiled. But even a child could realize that he was a broken man. When they were going to meet Kushina-san one day, he passed saying he had an important thing to do.

Or the other time when they came across the red head on the streets of Konoha one day but Teruya merely shunshinned away from the place. Minato-sensei hadn't even realized it until at the corner of his eye when Kushina was leaving, he could see Teruya coming back again in a flash.

Why did he do this? They'd thought that he'd be eager to meet another Uzumaki like himself but it was the complete opposite. He'd even rejected the offer of eating ramen with Kushina even though it was his favorite (they found out through some spying in which Kakashi reluctantly (not) agreed to).

It seemed like everyone was thinking of the same thing. The distant look on their faces said it all. Rin opened her mouth breaking the eerie silence of the forest.

"Teruya-san is acting strangely."

Hours passed by. Teruya-san was only supposed to confirm of this and nothing else so why-

A shrill,  sweet melody broke through the forest. All three of them recognized this tune. They had to go north-east to the rendezvous point.

Kakashi made some hand signs.

We'll be quick. Stay silent.

The other two nodded. Almost immediately all the three hurried to 3 'o' clock.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" Obito wheezed, taking in a deep breath before he dropped down to the floor.

"I've never ran this fast in my whole life before." Rin commented before she dropped down to the floor as well. Kakashi also seemed tired but he refused to sit down with them. Because it was-

"That kid really looked like the Yellow Flash there. Really freaked me out."

Obito's eyes widened. Not only Obito's though. Rin's was well. Kakashi? Not so much. But he was equally caught by surprise as well. The team immediately activated the seal Teruya had given to them.

"Hey. Did you feel that?"

One of the enemy's were alarmed now.

"Nah. Maybe you're just imagining it. Anyway lets go. We should go to our back up plan now." the other replied cooly. He really let his guard down.

"Well yeah maybe I guess. But I'm still not really sure." The enemy said narrowing his eyes down to the very rock the chunnin were hiding behind.

Obito's breath hitched. He was getting scared. He's never been so close to an enemy nin and he's not even fighting them. Kakashi was a little confused though. By their conversation, it seems like they met Teruya-san. But did Teruya-san tell them not to engage in battle? So then why did he do that?

         Nevermind that. You should always follow the orders of the captain, no matter the situation. All the three tried hard to hide behind the small rock they were sitting on. They had to squeeze real tight. Although it was a life and death situation now, Obito was still having the time to blush being so close to Rin.

'Ahhh, this is paradise.' Obito thought looking over to Rin with love-struck eyes. But then a sudden though entered his mind.

"Although it lasts only for around 15 minutes or so."

He gasped softly. He caught the attention of the other two and whispered very softly.

"How much time do we have left?" Rin's eyes widened in sudden realization of the time.

"Around 5 minutes." Rin replied back, sounding equally as soft as Obito. 

Kakashi didn't like this feeling. This feeling of helplessness. It seemed so unsightly for a shinobi like him.

He clenched his fist. He was about to take a step forward but the Uchiha stopped him.

"No Kakashi!" he whispered harshly, a bit louder than he thought he would. 

"What do you mean no! If we don't leave, we're all going to die here!" Kakashi snarled at him.

"Aren't you always yapping about listening to the team captains? Why are you going against your precious shinobi rules now?" Obito snapped back at the young boy with a slight hint of mockery in his voice.

Kakashi's eyes widened in realization. He was going against orders. But why? Why now? He's never done this before. Never in his life has he done it! But why? Why did he want to go against this man's orders?

Was it because he didn't trust him? Was it because that man seemed very powerful? Or was it the mystery behind his mask that he hid so well?

 He shook his head. Now was not the time for those thoughts. Obito was right for once. He had to listen to orders. So he stayed there back, not moving the slightest even when he felt uncomfortable being so near to the Uchiha boy.

"I have a feeling that we're being watched. Izui, go check it out."

All the three children tensed.

'A shit we're gonna die!' Obit screamed in his mind. Rin seemed, much more calmer than Obito. And Kakashi? Well, Kakashi is Kakashi. He was wearing his mask so not knowing how he really felt really frustrated everyone. Well mostly his teammates.

Kakashi slowly pulled out a kunai as the others did as well.

The nin was approaching closer now.

The feeling of knowing that you were going to get found out was nerve wracking. A huge pit formed in Obito's stomach. It was confusing though. Why was Rin so calm in this situation? She seemed more focused...As if she truly trusted that blond haired man.

Obito looked up, very slowly.

He met another pair of eyes. His heart dropped.

His eyes widened.

This was not going to end well now-

"Yo! How's everybody doing?" 

Hope.

A small sliver of hope just appeared. Relief washed over the team as they watched the figure at the entrance of the figure. Yellow eyes that seemed to glow in the dark and pupils that looked like the one of a toad's.

But something was off.

His hair...a part of it had turned red.

"I'm glad you guys are alright. I actually ran into some trouble back there..." Teruya drawled, not looking into the eyes of the children infront of him. He had to take a slight detour because of some unnecessary interruptions he came across.

Obito looked at the man with amazement. What was with those eyes? Why did he seem so cool kicking those ninja butt ass? And why did he have red hair? That was the first question that came to mind. It could've been blood...but he wasn't the type to shower on people's blood like a mad man although he did go through that phase once.

It ain't a pretty tale to tell.

"You..." 

Everyone's attention turned to the Uchiha. 

"Why do you have red hair, Teruya-san?"

Confusion flashed in the blond's face. Red hair? What red hair was he talking about?

"You hair on your right has become slightly red." Obito pointed out. 

He instinctively touched his hair and brought it closer to his eyes, but he could not see the red the chunnin was talking about. Teruya just simply shrugged his shoulders before changing the topic.

"Well anyway, we'll take them for interrogation. I've already replaced both of them with two of my bunshins although I'm not sure how long they're gonna last for." he explained.

"So that's why you took such a long time to come back!" Rin exclaimed after having put two and two together. Teruya had to observe their behavioral patterns and speech quirks if they did have any.

"Yep." Obito looked confused. What just happened? Why did Rin-

His eyes widened in sudden realization as he thought of why Teruya had taken such a long time. Kakashi could only roll his eyes in response but thankfully Obito hadn't seen that or else another fight would've begun.

"Well anyway, we should head back to Konoha. We can't be discussing here openly. Even the walls have ears." he said in a low voice and the others agreed before they all disappeared from the cave.

Yellow eyes gleamed in the corners of the cave as a small snake slithered away.
