Guild Quest (Part 1)

Zack POV

As the event transpire yesterday, the three of us are walking to the guild to continue the same routine.

"So, why did a god that eat shell visit us?" I can see that Lisa was thinking for a few second then turn her head and said in a serious matter. "She visited me for a few second asking me about my tribute to her, then she smell your cooking and stayed for a while" "What tribute did you give her?" Lisa went to her inventory and pulled out a special god tribute token that that was only available to her cultist faction. "She asks where I got it since she haven't received it in a while. Since this world mainly focus on worshiping on Nesta who help this world during the war against the demon king, finding my god's temple was harder then I though. I spend most of my time going one black underworld to the next until I found the temple that worship her." "why don't you just not do it?" I can see Marcus turning his head at me and I knew I messed up. "Zack you do know we are bound to the laws that Dis-unity had? It's the main reason that we know things that we never experience before. Like you with your melee weapons, Lisa magic, and my engineering skills. Since Lisa was part of the "Keepers" faction, they have to pay tribute to their god or they won't get any benefits with their skills and the might get the Detach debuffs that restrict them from activating ability with that god. Same goes for me, since Dawn Stars faction came from space and not from the planet, I can't understand the language here. Also our weapons and equipment gives us boost to our sta-" "hey look were here." I though Marcus will keep rambling on forever but near the distance we can see the adventure guild

We walk up to the front of the adventure guild, as I turn the nob of the door, I detach the door to the wall again. Sadly, the Guild Master was standing on the other side of the door talking to Justino.

"I thought we talk about this." I can see that the guild Master was pissed at me. "how many doors do I need to fix before I start charging you? Do you know how much they cost?" Justino put his hand on the guild master. He took a deep breath and told us to go the room in the hallway on the left. Not sticking around to see him about to kill me the three of us went as we were told and quickly went to the room.

As we enter the room, there was nobody in here. Judging by the desks and chairs, it looks like a meeting room. We went to the very back of the room and we waited there until something happens. I see that Lisa took her black book out along with a pen and begin to write magic formation and formula on it. Marcus did the same, but instead of writing magic he is practicing his lettering on this world language. I truly feel sorry for him. As for me, I got a nice view by the window as I can see the training ground outside. As time pass by, we can see a few people entering the room. Some of which look at us and sit in the front, Others exit the room and reenter. As more time went by we see people entering as group. A group of mix beastmen and humans enter, some have dwarves in the group, others odd bag of groups enter. There was a pure female group, one of them being a dark elf that I accidentally bump into one time. She waved at me, so I just wave back. I can see that a few people were looking at her so she turns to her group. Not long after, the Guild Master enter the room.

"Alright everybody is here, I just get straight to the point. We received a special request to deliver supplies to Fort Olin. The journey is a about a weak and some groups from the capital are on their way. They should be arriving tomorrow early morning. I can understand if you want to deny this request, I won't count it towards your failed record." I can see people talking to each other and debating. Going by their reaction, some of them are leaning towards refusing so I have to step in. "what's the payout?" The guild master smiled at me "The payout is 50 gold now, 250 when its completed...each." The entire room went into frenzy and someone said something out loud. "I can see why most of us are here, but why are there kids here?" Half of the room sided with him while the other half who witness our fight were explaining to them. The Guild Master raise his voice once more. "The may be kids, but don't let it fool you. They have talent to be at least C or B rank." At this point, the entire state of the room began to shout both each other and the Guild Master. This went on for about 30 seconds or so until Guild Master shock the entire room. "Well if you don't believe me, why not have a practice match with them." The guild master looked at us and I knew he has us at checkmate we needed the money and I kind of want to increase my fame. "Ok Ill beat anybody in this room." Most of the room were laughing while some who witness the fight were staying quiet. An older gentleman who is carrying a spear with a green ribbon tied to where the pole and blade meet stood up and accepted the Guild Master challenge. Just by looking at him, I can tell he is about 6'4, wearing heavy looking armor with chain-mail underneath it, and he is left handed. We all left the room and went outside to have a match.

As we got outside, there was some people who were fighting. Apon looking at the guild master, the immediately stop fighting at went to the sideline. Both me and the spear man went to our respective side. Some of the group were taking bets with each other some were betting on the spear man while some betted on me the bet was 1 in 10, and our ref was the Guild Master. The spear man wraps a cloth around his weapon while I set my Halberd down and I took a wooden practice spear from the wall that have been dull down. "Alright rules are simple give up or knock out you lose. Also, no killing. The guild master looks at me when he said that for some reason. We both look at each other and when the guild master started the countdown, My opponent took his stands while I was resting my arms with the spear.

As the Guild Master said go, we both rush to the center and swing at each other. As my opponent swing at a diagonal motion on my right side, the swing was going in a slow motion. I move forward closer to him, so I can duck under the spear. With a quick motion, I jab the blunt side to his neck with a bit of force which in turn made him step back while having his hand on his neck gasping for air. I knew this my moment to demoralize him. "C'mon, is that all you got? I fought goblins that were tougher then that." He looks at me then chuckle to himself. We both rush and attack again. This time his attacks were much faster and was focusing the center of my body. Then the mad lad tried to kick me. I grab his leg and I tried to sweep him with my right foot and twist his leg. As I was going for the sweep, his eyes widen, and he jump to do a spinning heal kick. I quickly block the kick with one of my arm by doing so he free his leg and he took some distance. "I give up, he has proven me that he is ready to come with us. "The people on the sideline were agreeing with him while others are debating on getting their money back as they have lost the bet. "Guild Master, I do not know where you find them. If the match goes any further, I will surely lose in a painful manner. I got to respect the guy, wouldn't mind fighting him again. As we are about to leave, someone ask about Lisa and Marcus. Of course, the debate happens again. Then someone volunteer to go fight Lisa. I pray for them.

Again, Lisa and another person enter the arena. The countdown by the Guild Master began and the match didn't last as long as mine. Lisa cast a ball of light which was in an instantaneously and blinded his opponent. The next thing everyone witness was Lisa opponent on the ground with Lisa holding a dagger towards his neck. The match was over, and many people was satisfied until they mention Marcus. Many stayed quiet because Marcus has a reputation on healing people. Guild master told them if were good to go. Many stay quiet and with that Everybody prepared to gather equipment for the trip tomorrow. As we left arena, a few people got back in the ring and began training.

A quest appears in front of my face. Usually I got used to it because it happens all the time when I went to kill goblins for the guild. I can tell that both Lisa and Marcus got the same message because the same window appear in front of them. Luckily for us, nobody doesn't seem to see what we're seeing when someone walk through it from the sides. I close the window and enter the building. When we enter the building, Justino was talking to the guild master.

"You can't be serious Guild Master. Sending the kids to Fort Olin, have you heard the rumors?" Looks like we enter the conversation in time "Justino I know what I am doing. Believe it or not, Both the kids wearing rusty armor and the girl with blindfolds took down rank C with no problem. Also think about it, the church is still here in the city. We don't know what plans they have to take these kids away. Besides you told me that the one in armor wants to live his life with freedom." I can see Justino was ready to punch him, but he regains his posture. "If they're going then I'm going as well." "It's fine by me." When Justino turns around, he saw us and began to smile. "Well looks like Guild Master ask me to come with you guys. Now let's make sure we get ready for tomorrow." Before long he picks all three of us and we were force to do shopping for tomorrow supply run.
