Chapter 7

Tamao was training with Star'Gazer again. He had to stand still, taking all the hits.

They weren't as bad as they were yesterday, mostly since Tamao worked on increasing his defense.

Star'Gazer seemed upset though and took him to town by a bus stop. "Listen here. You aren't a great training partner, so, you start getting better, and I won't kill your sister, deal?" Star'Gazer growled.

Tamao was hit with paralysis from the growl, but he made it clear that he was nodding. Star'Gazer smirked, and bit Tamao. "You better. You know the consequences if you don't." Star'Gazer hissed, as he took the paralyzed eevee back to the den.

Tamao didn't think this is what friends did. He knew this isn't what friends did.

------

Days passed. Tamao had been sneaking out at night to train himself properly. Tonight, when he went out, he saw a legendary pokemon. He was surprised, especially since he has had bad luck throughout his life. Or- he at least thought he had bad luck.

The legendary was Mewtwo, and there he was, staring right at Tamao.

"I see what's happening. You need better training than that." Mewtwo spoke. Tamao nodded.

He learnt that Mewtwo wanted to help, likely because he was a guardian of pokemon, and that included protecting others, or training those capable to protect themselves.

------

It was morning. Tamao was worn out and had just reached the den. Star'Gazer was already up, and glaring at him. "Where were you?" Star'Gazer demanded.

"I was out training myself so I could be a better training partner." Tamao responded. Star'Gazer nodded. "I'll be back in a few hours; don't you dare move or I will kill Sakura." Star'Gazer hissed.

Tamao nodded and watched as Star'Gazer left.

He stayed exactly where he was until Star'Gazer returned, which was around afternoon.

He took Tamao out to their training area. When Star'Gazer finished 'training' with Tamao, he walked away. When Tamao knew his friend was gone, he used Moonlight. He had known it for a while now but refused to use it until now.

Star'Gazer was not pleased when he saw Tamao's wounds healed when he came back to the den.

Star'Gazer took Tamao out to the bus stop, it being rather busy now. Star'Gazer roared. "Your sister will be dead the next time I see you or he-"

Star'Gazer was cut off with a shriek. Tamao had lunged at him and bit his leg. Star'Gazer tried to get Tamao off, but Tamao kept a firm grip, letting go only when the bone had started to show, and when the pop of the ligaments breaking was heard.

The leg was torn clean off. Star'Gazer roared, houndoom barking in the distance.

Tamao lunged for Star'Gazer's throat, Star'Gazer tried to use quick attack to get away, but Tamao was quicker.

------

Blood soaked Tamao's paws, and his jaws. He walked over to his little sister, who was watching a butterfly drift by. "Hey Sakura!" Tamao greeted. He hadn't noticed Sakura's shaking, but he did notice the bloody ear.

He dashed over and started to clean the ear. There were some small holes, nothing that couldn't be covered up though!

"Am I gonna be okay? I don't want to be covered in ugly scars!" Sakura whined. Tamao nodded. "You'll be fine, let's get you something to cover those scars."  Tamao responded. He reminisced on what the scientists always said whenever they were near. His sister must have learnt that scars are undesirable from them, back there.
