Chapter 3

There was a loud screaming, which jolted Tamao awake. His sister groggily followed his movements, and also awoke.

Tamao looked out the glass and saw another eevee. It was small, and still looked young. Tamao felt bad, and wanted to break the glass to help it, but there was no point. The eevee let out another scream, to which, the scientists covered their mouth to try and get them to be quiet.

Sakura stared at them with curiosity. Tamao on the other hand, glared at the scientists. He wondered what that eevee would go through, what they were doing with the eevee.

Tamao growled, the scientists countered it by shouting at Tamao. Tamao growled louder, and the cycle continued until he was grabbed and thrown to the back of the pen. He whimpered.

The scientists walked past, the eevee still screaming. That was the second time something like that happened to Tamao's knowledge.

A week had passed. Tamao had been forced through more 'training', and some scientists tried to get Sakura to remember Moonlight, but they had no effect.

Whenever the lights went out, Tamao would train himself until he became exhausted.

Whenever food came, Tamao stored some away so he could have a bit more strength for the escape.

He had been plotting it for a while, and he knew it would be a long time until it would work.

The glaceon, the boy, and the girl never came. He heard the scientists talking about how they found a better candidate, and how the experiment failed.

Tamao wondered why it failed, or what the experiment was. He was too naive to believe that the human and the pokemon were killed in the process of the experiment.

It's been months now.

Tamao was still injured repetitively in hopes he would use Moonlight, but he never did.

The injuries weren't helping during training, that's all he knew. Sakura was occasionally taken out of the cage, but each time she was, she would let out an ear-splitting screech until they put her back in with Tamao. The food pile was going good, and Tamao was grateful the food didn't spoil or mold.

His attack, defense, and agility also increased. Tamao was quickly becoming stronger than what anyone thought he would be. Especially since he was still so small.

The escape plan would certainly still take a long time- presumably months more, maybe a year or two. The scientists were talking next to the cage about Tamao.

"S-M429 needs to go. He's showing no signs of having Moonlight, and he's just a stupid pokemon, so he wouldn't know to hide it." One said. "Exactly. We need it gone now." Another responded.

Tamao growled. No. He roared. He was more than mad; he was way beyond mad. In his time here, mercy was never once shown to him. He launched himself at the glass but failed to break it. The scientists hissed at him to shut up.

He launched himself at the glass again. And again. Cracks appearing.

"He's too aggressive, he might harm S-M431." A scientist stated. Tamao launched himself at the glass again, finally breaking it. Sakura jumped out after him, and Tamao ran, telling Sakura to use quick attack to speed up.

The plan was too soon, and they didn't know when the door would be open.

As Tamao predicted, it was closed. He screeched, knowing they would be caught. But just maybe, they wouldn't be.
