Tamao was now older. His sister was just taken away from their parents and placed with him. Tamao decided to call her Sakura, as that was the name of the tree painted on the walls. The humans grabbed him and placed a muzzle on him. They knew Tamao would bite. They took him into a separate room, and injured him, trying to get him to use a healing move. 

When Tamao didn't use it, the humans took him back, wrapping the wounds and healing them. Scars were undesirable to trainers. Tamao was placed next to Sakura, and when the humans left, he immediately went to taking care of her.

He hadn't felt familial love since that moment, and he didn't want his younger sister to go through as much as he did. Perhaps one day, they could escape together, and evolve into what they want to, no trainers, no pain.

"Yeah. That sounds nice. Sakura, I promise, no matter what, I will keep you safe, so you don't have to go through what I did!" Tamao determinedly promised. Sakura was still too young to understand- let alone remember, but Tamao would still be determined to keep that promise.

He took his sister to the back of the pen and laid her down to rest. Her fur was still wet, just like his was when he was separated. He rested his tail over his baby sister and closed his eyes. He knew the humans would be back to check on them, so it was best to fake being asleep.

When the humans walked by, he stayed there. When the humans left, he got back up, and started to talk to Sakura, hoping she knows how much she is cared for.
