The night was cold but still the figure of a girl could be seen standing on a thick branch of a tall oak tree in a clearing. It was winter and the tree was covered in snow except for the branch she was standing on, it was sheltered by the leaves overhead. The tree overlooked a frozen river that she stared at for a while.

She was wearing an unforgettable poinsettia red jacket, she wore dark jeans and black boots, her ash brown hair in a high ponytail that hung down to her waist, her amber colored eyes were red and puffy; she had been crying.

She climbed down from the tree and sat under it and cried more, but the strangest thing happened, the snow around her melted revealing green grass, white flowers bloomed everywhere, they seemed to be whispering as they appeared.

Just as the girl stopped crying under the tree looked like it was summer, the grass was beautiful and green white flowers bloomed everywhere, it truly was amazing. As she looked around amazed at what had happened, her amber eyes sparkling. As it so happened, a boy with amber blonde hair and green eyes who was wearing a black jacket and jeans walked to the tree, he looked down as he walked. He was holding a bouquet of lilies and lilacs. He looked up and his eyes widened at the sight, he rushed over to the spot where the girl was sitting, that was where most of the white flowers were blooming.

"Reiko..." He whispered tears falling down his cheeks, "you did this? It's beautiful," he smiled tears flowing down his face.

The girl's eyes widened, she stared at him sadly that he was crying and scooted over to him and put her arms around him. The boy sniffed and placed the bouquet against the tree where the girl originally was sitting, she smiled as he set the flowers down.

"I did your favorite, lilies and lilacs," he smiled, he was a florist. The girl smiled even more.

"You know I really miss you," he cried, "I'll see you again next year, ok?" He stood up the girl reached out for the boy, but he left.

That boy, Kazuki Muraoka, knew the girl, Reiko Nakajima, he was her best friend.

But the thing was the only reason Kazuki went to that tree every year was because that was where Reiko and him would usually hang out and it was where Reiko Nakajima was buried.

Reiko Nakajima was dead,

She was a ghost, forever to stay under that tree watching as her loved ones came to visit her but they couldn't see or hear her.

As Kazuki walked away she looked at the bouquet and opened her mouth and as tears fell down her face, spoke. As the wind blew it cared some of the white flower petals and made a whistling noise but to Kazuki it seemed as if there was a voice that was very familiar saying,

"Thank you, Kazuki,"
