[ (???) Pov.]

I'm currently walking down the street with one of my best friends, who just so happens to be twins. We just finished school not too long, and she's explaining to me her current plan to become an idol. Oh, right! Introductions, my name is (Y/n) (L/n). This young, attractive lady is Ruby Hoshino, who is next to me. She is a little overprotective, but she's supportive and overly sweet. Aquamarine Hoshino or Aqua for short is her older twin brother. He's the most overprotective out of the two of them, and of course, I understand. Their mother, Ai Hoshino, was killed when we were young. Aqua saw it with his own eyes, but Ruby and I were blocked from seeing it at all, only seeing her after she passed.... But let's not think about that. I'm sure Ai wouldn't want any of us to be sad and depressed about her passing. So I won't, and I'll continue to chase my dreams and try to fulfill Ai's last wish.

We make our way home and settle down. Once relaxed, we continued our conversation as I saw Aqua make his way to us.

Ruby: " I'm gonna be like Mama! Eh..." She blurts out in suprise as Aqua then bonks her on the head with a stack of papers.

Aqua: " Talking about your dreams are fine, but high school entrance exams are fast approaching. " As he says this, Ruby waves his arm away with a slightly cocky attitude.

Ruby: " You don't get it, Nii-chan. I'm gonna be an idol! " She then puts her arm on the table, having her cheek in her palm. " High schools with performing arts departments focus on the interview. They only look at academic ability in passing. If I become an Idol, I won't need to study for entrance exams - two birds and one stone.~" Raising her hands in the air as if to say voella, but both me and Aqua look at her questioning her exact logic on it. I was about to say something about how lax she was being about it, but Aqua already beat me to the punch.

Aqua: " Don't gamble your life based on that little factoid." Ruby just slightly grumbled at his words. " You know I don't mind if you dream of being an idol, but don't have illusions about being an idol. " He said with his harsh and almost trademark pessimism. " Essentially, their salary is low, they retire before reaching 30, and their daily lives are under constant scrutiny by fans. Only a small percentage survive in the industry after graduating, and in the end, most take up another line of work. There are very few jobs where the cost is so disproportionate to the return. "

(Y/n): " A-kun [ah~kon], I know her plan was at least shaky at best, but isn't that a little...? " Aqua looks over to me but Ruby suddenly burst out saying something shocking as well as something I could never argue with.

Ruby: " What's your point? Isn't life about doing what you want with it?! You'll never be able to do a thing if you worry about cost and return! Some people go their whole lives unable to really do anything you know? That's not for me! " She says with passion and a hint of irritation. She then crossed her arms, turning away from him.

(Y/n): " Ruby-chan.... "

Aqua: He turns around, not wanting to argue with her as she did have a point. " Whatever, I'm going to the directors place. " Aqua then walks over to the front door and puts on his shoes to head over to Gotanda-san's place. After he officially takes his leave.

(Y/n): Ruby and I look over to Aqua with seldom and concern. " A-kun really has changed a lot, huh.... "

Ruby: " Well, we shouldn't really be too surprised. Mama's death affected all of us, but he really did change the most from it.... He always has a gloomy expression on his face. Do you have any idea what he does when he goes over to the director's place? " She asks me.

(Y/n): " No, sadly.... I don't think he even tells Miyako-san what he does when at the director's.... "

Ruby: " Hey (N/n), do you have any plans of what you want to do yet? " I then think back to a conversation I had when Ai was still alive....

~Flashback~

Ai: " Hey (N/n), what is it you want to do when you grow up? " She asked me when I was playing with Ruby, and Aqua was reading a book on the couch.

(Y/n): " Huh. Hmm... I would say to become an idol like you and write my own music as well! " I exclaimed with excitement. As my eyes shone brightly reflecting my mood.

~Present day~

(Y/n): I smile and look fully at Ruby, my eyes shining as brightly as they did when Ai asked me all those years ago. " Same with what I said back then. I'll be an idol and write my own music. So let's work hard and reach towards the stars! "
