3rd POV
Stepping into the chemistry lab, Y/n took a moment to scan the room. A few students lingered at their stations, though their faces were unfamiliar. She hesitated, glancing from one side of the room to the other, weighing her seating options. Just as she moved to sit, she sensed someone looming behind her. Turning, she found herself face-to-face with a pair of striking burgundy eyes.
"What?" Carpaccio's voice held a frosty edge, brow arched in mild annoyance. Y/n shook her head, unbothered by his cold stare. After a few silent seconds, Carpaccio broke the gaze and hummed, turning on his heel to head toward the back of the room. But then, he paused and looked over his shoulder.
"Well? You coming or what?" His irritated tone caught her by surprise, and she murmured a soft "oh" before following him to his workstation. They settled in just as the professor entered the room.
"Today, we'll be working in pairs," the professor announced cheerfully. "We'll begin by dissecting rats!" The room responded with a chorus of groans, Y/n's included. She glanced at Carpaccio, only to find him oddly delighted at the task.
As the professor handed them their specimen, Y/n's face twisted in distaste. Frogs were one thing, but rats? She eyed the rodent, half expecting it to spring to life like a miniature, furry menace.
Carpaccio snapped on his gloves with ease, and with a reluctant sigh, Y/n followed suit. Their quiet setup, however, was soon interrupted by several eager voices.
"Luo Yang? Can we partner up?" one girl asked shyly.
"Oh, Luo Yang, I don't have a partner either!" another chimed in.
"Me too!"
"And me!"
The high-pitched pleas seemed to grate on Carpaccio's nerves, his face betraying his annoyance. "Partner up with each other, then," he said with a scowl. "Can't you see I'm already paired with someone?" He gestured at Y/n, who watched the scene unfold in amused silence.
The girls backed off with sheepish apologies, leaving Carpaccio and Y/n to their work.
With the rat dissected, the sharp, unpleasant scent of chemicals clogged Y/n's nose, making her stomach twist. Breaking the tense silence, she muttered without looking up, "I never agreed to be your partner."
Carpaccio scoffed, his lips twitching into a smirk. "I heard you're a bit of a loner, so I did you a favor."
Y/n's head snapped up, meeting his smug gaze, his chin resting lazily on his hand. "You little—"
Before she could finish, Carpaccio clapped his hand over her mouth. "Quiet." His exasperation turned to confusion as her face went pale. "What's with you?"
Y/n lifted a trembling finger, pointing at his hand.
Realization dawned on Carpaccio.
He still wearing his gloves.
Before he could pull away, it was too late.
Bleargh!
Y/n's stomach rebelled, and Carpaccio found himself splattered with vomit. A loud curse slipped from his mouth, drawing the attention of their classmates. "You—get up!" he growled, hoisting her by the arms.
"Luo Yang, take her to the infirmary," the professor directed, grimacing at the scene. Carpaccio sighed and guided a woozy Y/n out of the lab.
Once they stumbled into the infirmary, he let her collapse onto a bench before attempting to clean himself. "This is your fault," Y/n grumbled, rinsing her mouth.
"My fault?" Carpaccio spat, frustration lacing his words as he furiously wiped at his stained shirt. "I thought you were the rat."
"Me?! A rat? I'm suing you if I die!" she shot back, toothbrush jammed in her mouth.
"Oh, please," he muttered, rolling his eyes. "I should sue you for ruining my clothes."
"Please! I could buy you 100 of those." she said, tossing a mint at him to which he caught and bit into it exact;y as the bell rang. Carpaccio scoffed, getting out of his soiled shirt. "Better start with one right now, then."
"You can't be serious!" Y/n gasped, turning away only to catch a glimpse of his bare torso. "Not here!"
"Well, I need something to wear, and now!" he retorted, taking her by the arm and turning her to face him.
"Give me a second—I'm thinking!" she stammered.
Just then, the door swung open, revealing the student council members.
"Oh my," gasped Sophina, covering her mouth as Orter's face remained stoic. "WE BOUGHT—" Ryoh's usual grin faltered, his gaze shifting between them. "clothes..." His voice faded, holding out a fresh set.
"Please don't misunderstand." Y/n started.
"We're trying, sweetie." Sophina replied, trying not to laugh.
Orter gave Carpaccio a steady look before noticing his hold on Y/n. "Sophina, please help L/n freshen up." He instructed. Carpaccio reluctantly released Y/n, and with a small sigh, He allowed Sophina to lead her away as Carpaccio accepted the clothes Ryoh offered with an exasperated groan.
As the door clicked shut, Sophina let out a small sigh and turned to Y/n with a gentle smile.
"So, what exactly happened back there?" she asked, helping Y/n lift her shirt to clean off any remaining mess.
Y/n rolled her eyes, exasperated. "Luo Yang wants me to buy him a replacement for the shirt I ruined," she said, a hint of irritation in her voice.
Sophina raised an eyebrow, her expression mildly amused. "Is that all? Just a new shirt?"
"Yeah, pretty much," Y/n replied, frowning at her friend's reaction. "Why? Did you expect something else?"
Sophina's lips twitched as she tried to hide a smile. "Oh, no reason."
Y/n narrowed her eyes, sensing something beneath Sophina's calm demeanor. "You're acting strange. What's going on?"
Sophina let out a soft laugh, unable to hide her amusement any longer. "Never mind me," she replied, brushing it off with a wave of her hand. "By the way, weren't you supposed to bring pizza today?"
Y/n blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the sudden topic change. "Right! I did. but I was planning on picking it up later."
Sophina nodded with approval. "Good, good. Well, all set here," she said, giving Y/n a final pat on the shoulder. "Just be careful next time. You're lucky Luo Yang was calm enough to not fight you."
Y/n let out a scoff. "Yeah, maybe remind him of that instead. He's the one who started this whole mess."
True to her word, Y/n arrived at school with a large pizza box in hand, attracting curious stares from those unaware of the bet she'd made with a few specific haters. Near the entrance, Margarette spotted her and shook their head with a chuckle.
"I've got to give it to you, babe. You actually brought pizza," they remarked. Tron and Cello quickly rushed over, taking the heavy box from Y/n's hands.
"I just want my $90," Y/n said with a shrug, to which Margarette sighed knowingly.
"I heard you had a spat with Carpaccio?" Margarette asked, amusement clear in their voice. Y/n groaned, crossing her arms.
"Don't remind me," she muttered, while Margarette chuckled, teasing, "You're adorable."
After a bit more chatter, they reached the student council room. Tron pushed open the door, revealing a group already gathered inside.
"Y/n-senpai!" Dot was the first to spot her, calling out loudly. In a flash, Mash was by her side, clinging to her arm.
"Where are those haters? I'm ready to shove this pizza right down their throats!" Y/n joked enthusiastically, ruffling Mash's hair and making him beam. Cello placed the box on the table, opening it to release a warm, mouthwatering aroma of melted cheese, tangy tomato, and a hint of sweetness. Inside, the Hawaiian pizza was picture-perfect—its crust golden and slightly crisp, the mozzarella cheese still gooey and melted. Juicy pineapple chunks added a bright contrast to the thin slices of pink ham scattered across.
"Man, that looks good enough to make me combust," Renatus commented, eyes fixed on the pizza. Y/n grabbed three plates, sliding them over to Luo Yang, Wirth, and Orter.
"Eat, chew, and swallow!" Tsurara joked as Wirth, rolling his eyes, snatched up a slice and took a big bite. Luo Yang followed with a more reserved nibble, while Orter took a small, reluctant bite, glancing around the room.
Everyone held their breath, waiting for their reactions.
"Well?" Y/n pressed, hands on her hips, her gaze settling on Luo Yang.
"It's... fine," Luo Yang admitted, taking another bite, which made a small smile appear on Y/n's face. He quickly turned away to hide it. "HEY, WIRTH ALREADY FINISHED HIS SLICE!" Lemon pointed out, noting Wirth sitting back with his arms crossed, crumbs still near his lips.
"I didn't. I threw it out," Wirth claimed, though Sophina just smiled. "Whatever makes you happy," she said with a grin, while Y/n's cocky smirk grew.
Turning to Orter, Y/n asked, "And you?"
"Still a no."
Y/n's smile fell, incredulous. "You're kidding?"
Orter put his half-eaten slice back on the plate, dusting off his hands. "I'm not. It's unconsumable."
"His loss. This is good," Lance muttered, chewing. "IT'S SO SOFT!" Ryoh chimed in, already halfway through his slice. "I agree, it's perfectly balanced—a bite of smoky ham and tangy-sweet pineapple," Abel said, nodding in appreciation. Abyss, seated beside him, silently agreed with a nod.
"You have to tell me where you got this, L/n," Kaldo said, clearly satisfied. "She made it," Mash declared confidently, eating his slice, since he enjoyed anything Y/n brought.
"You're still convinced she made it?" Rayne scoffed, eyes glued to his phone.
"Why wouldn't he be when she DID make it?" Margarette cut in, raising an eyebrow. They closed the box, revealing the GG Pizza logo.
The room went quiet as everyone stared at the logo in disbelief.
"I worked hard on that," Y/n sulked, her shoulders slumping in mock defeat.
