Lynn woke up, staring at a ceiling that wasn't her own. She slowly sat up, taking in her surroundings until she clutched her left hand. She felt pain run up and down her entire left arm. Looking at it, she saw that it was wrapped in bandages, "W-who did this?" Lynn whispered to herself

"But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either." A man said, causing Lynn to turn. She saw a man, tall and wrapped in bandages and a bullet-proof vest. He carried a tray of food with him and set it down in front of Lynn, still speaking.

"Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. Luke 6:27-36," he said, pulling up a chair and sitting next to the bed.

"Who are you?" Lynn asked, scared of his appearance and inching away from him

"I am the man who burned. But for now, call me... Abraham," the bandaged man said, raising a hand

"A-Abraham?" Lynn stuttered

"Yes?"  the man replied. Lynn was silent, still trying to figure out what was going on, until Abraham sighed, "You're wondering what happened, correct?"

"Yes, please tell me," Lynn asked.

It was then, Abraham closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, "You were driving somewhere, I do not know where. You crashed as a result of a drive-by. Luckily, I was in the area, and I patched you up," he said.

Lynn looked down at her arm and then touched her neck, feeling more bandages wrapped around her. She then remembered. Several men on motorcycles, carrying automatic weapons. They shot her down. She remembered the crash, slamming into a fire-hydrant and spinning into a lamp-post. Lynn's breathing soon accelerated to the point of hyperventilation.

Breathing in and out, Lynn felt her heart race. But in the midst of her crisis, remembering the pain, she felt a hand touch her back, "I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished. Luke 12:49 - 12:50," Abraham said, rubbing her back. "I was baptized twice in my life. Once with water. Once with flames. And so have you,"

"W-what's that supposed t-to mean?" Lynn questioned, looking up at Abraham. His blue eyes looked back at her as he removed his hand while still looking at her.

"Do not let this incident keep you down. You lived because the fire inside of you burned brighter than the flames around you. Now it's time to make something of it. Let go of your burdens... and live, Lynn Loud Jr.,"
