A/n: I have taken the full liberty of imagining things , so kindly bear with me.

It's a normal day . A person can be seen sitting on the corner of the bed , looking to nothing in particular , just busy in his thoughts .

" Ro, bacha Kiya huwa ?" Mahi Bhai asked entering the room.

" Kuch nhi Bhai , mujhe kisise Baat nhi Karna." Rohit said plainly.

" But me uss kisime nhi aata Hu , so mujhse Baat karoge na " Mahi Bhai said sitting near Rohit.

Rohit didn't say anything but just snuggled to Mahi Bhai. After a while , he said (more like complained) " Bhai even I want to go there , why only Jaddu can go, why can't I ?"

" Ro, you know na bacha , even I want to go , but if we both go in the middle of the series who will lead the team. You are the vice captain , in Cheeku's absence , it's your duty to lead the team, won't you do this." Mahi Bhai asked lovingly.

" Par Bhai , Shikhar can also lead the team na " Rohit said.

" Haa he can but then he will be sitting here in place of you and will be complaining like this." Mahi Bhai joked.

After a while , Mahi Bhai said " Kiya huwa agar hum physically nhi ja sakte, hum virtually toh attend karenge na and my little Ro knows that this duty is more important. I know you have lead the team in IPL. But leading the team for the country is a very different feeling in itself. It's always a sense of pride to lead the team, you will not always get this opportunity , so , you should enjoy this and cherish this moments. And about Virat's wedding , we will attend it virtually though video call and Cheeku ne promise bhi toh Kiya h that he will saw the recording , har moment Ka recording hoga , hum Aram se dekhnge ."

After a lot of hardwork, Mahi Bhai managed to convince Rohit but still he looked unconvinced . So, Mahi Bhai thought to change the topic .

Mahi Bhai: Ro, first match ki playing eleven decide ho gya .

Rohit: Ha Bhai, Woh toh Aapke samne hi toh huwa tha , aap bhi toh meeting me the na.

Mahi: Haa but fir bhi , me yeh puchne wala tha ki kya Tumne Shreyas se Baat ki , jiss Tarah tum first time India ke liye captaincy karoge waise hi Woh first time debue karega. Woh bacha Kitna nervous hoga , tumhe ek Baar usse Baat karni chaiye . Woh bacha nervous hoga, you should go and boost his confidence.

Rohit: Haa Woh nervous hoga jiss Tarah me huwa tha , but tab Aapne mujhe handle Kiya tha , don't worry Mahi Bhai , me usse Jake Baat karta Hu.

Shreyas's pov-
I am sitting in my room talking with my roommate Jasprit or I call him Jassi as everyone around calls him. Just than ,Jassi's phone ring , he excuse himself to answer it. Jassi is an amazing person , every one in the team is quite fond of him .I have seen during the T20 match how all the seniors treat him just like a small brother . I have heard from my friends and seniors that everyone in the team treat each other no less than family. I hope I can one day be part of this family. I don't even know I will be playing in the match or not. I'm just here as a replacement for Virat sir and who knows Rohit sir will make me play because there are many other senior players in the team who are playing this game from a long time . It's obvious he will give preference to them not to a newcomer like me.

Just than there is a knock on the door. Opening the door , I was starstruck , I can't believe The Hitman is standing infront of me. I was completely shocked , so shocked that I was just starring at him with my mouth wide open.

" Shreyas gate pe aese hi khade rahoge ya mujhe under aane doge " Rohit asked.

As Rohit said this Shreyas realized what he was doing and he was embarrassed and he uttered " Sorrryy......Si... Sir... I didn't mean."

" What sorry , no need of it Shreyas , it's alright hota h , Mera bhi yhi reaction tha jab Mahi Bhai se me first time Mila tha and tumne mujhe Kiya bulaya SIR. Please mujhe Bhai ya B-Ro ya bhaiya but not sir , I don't like that." Rohit said making himself comfortable on the bed.

" Wha khade khade kiya Kar rahe ho , idhar aao, betho , dinner kiya " Rohit asked picking the landline.

Before Shreyas could reply Jassi said " Rohit bhaiya aap Shrey ko Kuch bolne toh do , tab hi Woh Kuch bolega and humne dinner nhi Kiya , hum abhi just niche hi Jane wale the "

" Ohh tab thik h , Jassi Tum jao Mahi Bhai aur Bhuvi wait Kar rahe h dinner ke liye , Mahi Bhai ke room me " Rohit said.

" Sirf Mera kiu ,Aap nhi aaoge aur Shrey bhi toh h " Jassi asked.

" Nhi me aur Shrey nhi jayenge , mujhe Kuch kaam h Shrey ke sath , tum jao , hum log dono aate h thodi Der me" Rohit said.

Hearing Rohit saying he has some work with Shrey Jassi's possessiveness was about to kick in but Ro said he will treat him with ice-cream just him after dinner and that made Jassi bounce with joy , he hugged Ro and ran to mahi Bhai room. All this was witnessed by shrey with wide eyes. He started thinking ' Woow , kitne pyaar se baat karte h yeh.'

Seeing Shrey hadn't move from door, Ro again called him saying "Arre abhi tak tum wahi khade ho, Tumhara hi room hai Shrey idhar aajao muhje tumse kuch baat krni hai . " Still seeing that he is hesitant , Rohit further said " Shrey Bache , you don't need to be afraid from me . Come sit here."

In the meantime ,their dinner also arrived , which Rohit had already ordered before coming.

Shrey came and sat on bed with some respectful distance from Rohit but Ro being Ro also pulls him more near him and by putting hand on his shoulder was about to say something, but before Rohit can start saying , Shrey with nervousness said "IknowyouareheretotellmeIwon'tbedebutinginthismatches.Don'tworryIwon'tmind,it'sjustaGreatthingformethatIwillgettoyouseeyouallplayinfrontofmyeyesandwilllearnsomanythingsfromyouall."
Shrey was no nervous that he said whatever he intended to say in breath only. While Ro made a face seeing Shrey😮

" Shrey calm down bacha, I didn't get a word of what you said. Drink this and then say" Rohit said handling a glass of water to Shreyas. Same time, he served the food too.

" Shrey Dekho jo bhi Baat Tumne boli , I think it can wait a little , pehle mujhe Bhook lagi h boht Jada . Dinner finish kare warna thanda ho Jayega." Rohit said.

After the dinner has been done, Rohit passed a chocolate to Shreyas saying " Yeh lo, I know your dinner us incomplete with having chocolates. And aab batao , what were you saying earlier."

" Woah Bhaiya I know you are here to tell me that I won't be in the playing 11." Shreyas said calming down his nerves , at the same time, seeing the chocolate in Ro's hand with puppy eyes, still hesitant to take it.

" Who said you this , you will definitely be making your debue , in the very first match, and don't worry , whether we win or loss , you will always my back. And this is not your captain speaking, it's your elder brother, feel free to tell me anything, I will always be there for my kids, not only me , the same is with Virat too, he may not be part of this series, but remember he will always stand by you , by his team , by his family, we take this very close to our heart ." Rohit said making Shrey eat chocolate.

But seeing that still Shreyas was looking upset. , Rohit said " Aren't you happy with the fact that you and me boht are making our debut in the same match, me as Captain and you as a player ?"

" Nahi bhaiya , me boht Khush Hu, but----" Shreyas stopped saying .

" What happened Shrey koi baat h Kiya ?" Rohit asked in concern.

" Woh Bhaiya aap Jassi ko toh ice-cream treat de raho ho and mujhe sirf chocolate, not done." Shreyas said poutingly. But regretted the next moment. But seeing Rohit's reaction , he found himself at ease.

" Ummm, yeh toh boht badi Baat ho gyi " Rohit said smilingly. Pretending to think he said " mere pass ek idea h "

"Kiya idea " Shreyas asked

" How about after the match, I take you for an ice-cream treat." Rohit said .

Shreyas eye's perked up listening to this.
" Will you really take me ?" Shreyas asked still not believing.

" Ofcourse, I will take you Yas, pinky promise." Robit said.

Fast forward to match day,

Shreyas was handed his maiden cap by his captain. Shreyas was on cloud nine while playing. But it didn't go well. Wicket were falling . Meanwhile , MS provided a hope amidst the falling wickets. But alas! Still the team lost the match. Everyone was feeling miserable , Rohit never wanted his first game as Captain to be like this,like any other youngsters , he too has dreams. He was very upset.

Just than , a text pop up into his phone.

" Not every day is our day! We are warriors , we will make the best comeback, as we always do. Take care yourself as well as my kids" The text read .

Reading the text , Rohit realised the promise he gave to Shreyas . He rush towards Shreyas room at jet speed , but it was locked. A member of the supporting staff told Rohit that he saw Shreyas going towards terrace.

Reaching the Terrace, Rohit saw Shrey was starring at the sky.

" Not everyone is our day bacha" Rohit said .

Shreyas was startled to see Rohit there, he said " Bhaiya aap yha."

" Woh Mene promise Kiya tha na, ice cream treat after the match, toh chale." Rohit said trying to ease the environment.

" Par bhaiya, we---" Shreyas was saying but Rohit cut him. " I said na not everyday is our day, we should cherish the small small moments , in the long run, this are the one which will bring smiles on our face, it was just a bad day at office ." He further said " chale"

" Wait bhaiya me change Karke aata Hu " Shreyas said and rushed to his room to change. Not before Rohit has ruffled his hairs.

Meanwhile , all this was witnessed by Mahi Bhai, who thought to check on Rohit after the loss. There was a proud look on his face seeing that his little Ro has grown so much that now he is taking care of his kids. He was smiling all the way .
