The Age of Destruction Begins, The Reign of Rollins Ends!
Time Scale: 34 Days After Debut - Location: WWE Clash of Champions 2019
Since Destroyer had debuted on Raw after Summerslam: he had been nothing short of a destructive force in the WWE! Week in and week out: he had caused Seth Rollins no end of problems on Raw, and had managed to make sure that he had Seth's full undivided attention in the Universal Championship scene!
From attacking Rollins and Braun Strowman after they had won the Raw Tag Team Championships from the "OC" on the Raw after his debuted, leaving their bodies in a bloodied mess on the ground, which also involved hitting a "Death 5" on Rollins rib first onto steel steps; to attacking Rollins in the locker rooms, car park, and the ring each and every week; and even going as far as attacking Rollin's fiance Becky Lynch on the Raw before Clash of Champions with the "Death 5" before using the "One Way To Hell", his version of a Package Piledriver, on Rollins onto a pile of Steel Chairs right afterwards when Rollins tried to retaliate!
Now, granted, both had given the all clear to Destroyer doing that backstage at the time, because in reality Destroyer got on with both Becky and Seth: but either way, the fans were eating up the feud in a way that hadn't been possible in a while, and they were able to cover up their tracks backstage as well on their friendship so that the fans were non-the-wiser.
Now Destroyer had what he had wanted: a No Holds Barred Match against Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship at Clash of Champions.
What was even better, or worse depending on the opinion of others? Seth was pulling double-duty that night because he had to defend the Raw Tag Team Championships with Braun against the rather odd pair of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler earlier on in the evening.
Outside of the ring though: Destroyer and his IIconic friends, bad pun very much intended, had been spending a lot of time with each other, be it at the gym, at airports and plane rides, or even when they went out with fellow wrestlers, who sneakily suspected that the Aussie beauties had a thing for the King of Destruction.
The day after his debut, Destroyer even reintroduced Billie and Peyton to his family at an airport at one point via a video call, and to the female Aussies, it was like reuniting with a second family, in a good way. The trio promised to visit Destroyer's family whenever they got the chance to, since their busy schedules made visiting difficult.
On another note, he was also able to catch up with Charlotte on a few occasions. The two were like second siblings for each other, and it felt good to catch up with one another. This also led to Destroyer becoming fast friends with Charlotte's boyfriend, Andrade, as well on one of the occasions that Charlotte brought him to the gym where Destroyer and The IIconics were training in at the time.
It also helped that Destroyer, surprisingly to Charlotte, Billie and Peyton, could also speak to Andrade in his native tongue as well, so the two were able to have long conversations, share a laugh, or whatever else no matter what language they spoke. It kind of made them a little surprised that they never encountered one another in New-Japan or Mexico before.
Currently though: Destroyer was currently backstage, using a punching bag as he did multiple strikes with his fists, elbows, knees and legs whilst he was preparing himself for his upcoming match with Seth. It was a ritual he did every day when he had before a match or a violent segment.
In the area with him was one of his good friends from UFC and current NXT Women's Champion, Shayna Baszler, who was helping him in training for the match, taking the place for the punching bag every-so-often, and had even made the trip to the venue where Clash of Champions was being held to both help Destroyer out, and also to support her friend.
They also had both Roman Reigns, who Destroyer had a mutual respect for and whom was slowly becoming a friend with him outside of WWE, since they were on opposite brands, and Paul Heyman, who made sure that he (Destroyer) was adapting to the WWE system as best as the "King of Destruction" could. That and also to add a bit of familiarity to Destroyer's life.
Triple H soon arrived and was impressed by the preparations that Destroyer was taking, and the fact that the "King of Destruction" was taking this match seriously.
"Ready for tonight, Michael?" he soon asked as he came over, enabling Destroyer to break from his routine for a bit before turning to Hunter as he first bumped Shayna, turning to the King of Kings with a smirk on his face.
"Ready as I will ever be..." he responded, full of confidence as he briefly wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead with his taped up hands. Hunter smirked a bit and clapped his shoulders a bit. "Have fun out there. And put on a good show." he said, to which Destroyer nodded his head as he fist bumped Triple H before the latter left with Heyman to sort out last minute things before the paperview could start.
"Can't wait to see ya steal the show." Shayna commented as she handed Destroyer a bottle of water, which he gladly accepted and drank a bit from. "That makes three of us." Roman added in agreement, referring to the three individuals there. Destroyer could only smirk a bit.
"Seth's a good worker. We should be able to pull of a match to steal the show." the King of Destruction said in agreement. Roman and Destroyer fist bumped before Roman went off to get ready for his match later on in the night as well, and both Destroyer and Shayna went back to training.
As the show began, Destroyer and Shayna were joined by both Billie and Peyton, who'd come for more-or-less the same reason that Shayna had. Both whistled a bit when they saw Destroyer going at it with his training with Shayna, catching the attention of their fellow Australian and his UFC buddy.
Destroyer's Personal Observation:
I heard the Peyton and Billie whistling from behind me, and I knew it was them from the moment they did that. I couldn't help but smirk a bit, but allowed myself to break from preparing for my match to acknowledge my friends.
""Hey Michael!"" they both said, in sync, and I looked over to Shayna briefly with a look that asked 'Give us a bit?' She understood it and nodded, throwing me the bottle of water that I had started on, which I caught, as she left.
"What's up you two? Come to wish me luck?" I asked as I turned back to my IIconic friends. Take that for a pun if you wish to, I'm not sure if it was or not. Either way they nodded to my question.
"Of course! What kind of friends would we be if we didn't?" Peyton asked, serious in her question as well, despite the added bit of teasing. Billie's response was arguably predictable, but I didn't mind it at all.
"Besides, you look damn hot all sweaty, Micky!" I could easily make out the flirting nature in her tone, and as I said: I didn't mind it all. I chuckled a bit before soon saying. "Well, sorry to disappoint you then. I'll be getting into my gear soon."
Knowing what Billie would probably suggest, I held up my free hand to stop her and immediately responded with: "And no, Jess, you can't come and watch." The pout she gave made Cassie laugh, and brought a momentary smirk to my face.
"By the way, you never said you were friends with Shayna." Cassie said, to which I responded after having some of my drink. "We met up after one of her UFC matches. I was a fan of her style of fighting, and she agreed to teach me some tricks in the gym every-so-often. Even introduced me to her fellow Horsewomen buddies a couple of times. We've been friends ever since."
Billie was quick to jump to conclusions at my rather brief trip down memory lane. "Did ya date her at all?" she asked, a slight hint of jealousy in her voice, which she failed to hide well. I merely shrugged a bit in response, even if I had no intention to lie to her.
"We had a fling once or twice, but nothing serious. We agreed to just remain friends after a while, but there's never been any bad blood." I smirked a bit, coyly, before asking as I sipped some of my water. "Is somebody jealous, Jessie?"
Cassie laughed as Jess's cheeks turned a bright shade of crimson. Though I thought I saw Cassie have a slight shade of crimson on her face herself as well...
As the night went on, and matches went by, there was some interesting moments in what was a pretty decent show, all things considered. 2 out of the 3 tag titles changed hands with "The Revival" winning the Smackdown Tag Titles from "The New Day's" Xavier Woods and Big E and the odd-ball team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode defeating Braun and Seth for the Raw Tag Titles.
The only tag titles that didn't change hands was the Women's Tag Titles, as Bliss and Cross retained them in a pretty interesting match...though why the 24/7 title had to be involved is beyond me, besides adding in a potentially surprising moment when Alexa tried to win the title off of Truth. Don't get me wrong, I like Truth and all as he's a funny guy, but I couldn't wrap my head around the whole match interruption plan.
Apart from that, all the remaining titles didn't change hands: Bayley, who'd turned heel a couple of weeks after Sasha Banks had returned to Raw the same night I'd debuted, defeated Charlotte surprisingly quickly in their title match, which I thought was an interesting angle and probably a smart decision.
Shinsuke Nakamura retained the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz via interference from Sami Zayn, which I didn't know what to think of to be honest. The match was fine given it had too really good wrestlers, but Sami's constant jabbering was annoying. Still, nice that Nakamura got to hold the title longer.
AJ Styles and Drew Gulak retain their respective titles in the pre-show, though honestly I suspect AJ wasn't happy with how his match went, since it seemed more of a burial of Cedric than anything, and I wouldn't blame either for being mad at that.
Becky retained her Raw Women's Title against Sasha Banks, but only via a VERY confusing DQ finish that left a sour taste in the mouth, especially given the match was rather good beforehand, whilst Kofi Kingston retained his WWE Championship against Randy Orton in a rematch from their Summerslam match...and let me tell you, I felt bad for Kofi.
Orton just was not helping in this match, wrestling a rather slow paced and dull style, and none of the fault for their match being as it was could on Kofi. He at least tried to make the match interesting. Still, the right guy won, and there was enough to at least salvage the match.
I've gotta say though, I didn't mind the Roman vs. Rowan match. I get the argument it should of been on the pre-show, but it was still pretty decent enough, and seeing Luke Harper's surprise appearance near the end was interesting too.
Now though, it was the main event: Seth Rollin's second title match, this time for that Universal title...against me! I was currently awaiting for my cue, as Triple H wished me and Rollins luck. Both of The IIconics and Shayna wished me luck, and soon Seth's music played as he began to head to the ring first.

The crowd wasn't as fired up for Seth now as they were earlier in the evening when he defended the Raw Tag Titles with Braun earlier in the evening, though I suspect that was because the fans were rather tired out from the length of the paperview already. Not my problem, regardless.
I was getting into the zone mentally as Rollins made his way into the ring, holding onto his big red title like a kid with their prized cuddly toy, or just a prized object in general. I could feel the glare he had aimed at both the entrance ramp and, more specifically, me from the ring. He was ready to fight...and as luck would have it...so was I!
And then...
https://youtu.be/hqzKjPn7YSY
The lights to the arena went out moments before the gongs of my entrance music had started to play, and a demonic red fog-like mist began to appear all around the ramp and the outside of the ring as the gongs and my theme song began to play!
The lights that did come on set an eerie and bone-chilling scene as I began to make my way out to the ring: sporadic appearances of demonic red or blood red shone!
[Note: The first picture is what he's wearing in the match (minus the jacket and sunglasses), whilst the coat and the mask are what he is wearing to the ring in his entrance].
I my sight didn't leave Rollins once as I entered the ring, with the music ending and the lights returning to normal once I had removed my mask and coat, throwing them at Rollins a bit...shame he didn't react like how I'd hope, but oh well. We were soon announced one by one by the announcer.
"The following contest is a No Holds Barred Match! And it is for the WWE Universal Championship! Introducing the challenger! From Sydney, Australia: he is "The King of Destruction"...DESTROYER!!!"
I was admittedly surprised when I heard the crowd cheer for me, and quite loudly as well, especially given I was a heel. But hey, whatever gets the fans excited I suppose.
"And introducing his opponent! From Dawnport, Iowa, weighing 217 pounds: he is the WWE Universal Champion...SETH ROLLINS!!!"
The crowd cheered a bit, but not as much as they had done for me...but I didn't even let Rollins pose with the title for one last time, not for long anyway, because as soon as he started posing, he made the mistake of facing the crowd where it was harder to spot me, and I took the opportunity to immediately charge at him and smash him into the corner, laying stiff punches into him left, right and center!
What ensued was an all out war between me and Rollins! After pounding him into the mat with my fists and some stiff elbow strikes: I pulled him up and threw him halfway across the ring before charging straight at him and smashing my knee and some of my knee into his chest!
It wasn't too long before weapons were brought into the match: with me throwing a few steel chairs into the ring and even bringing a table out already...of course Rollins tried to throw off my momentum quickly when he recovered fairly quickly and attempted a Suicide Dive at me.
All he succeeded to do was smash the table into me and cause me to stagger back a bit, but not much else. I threw the table to the ground, and hit a fast clothesline onto Seth that caused him to crash into the side of the ring.
10 Minutes Into The Match:
If you could see the state of the ring and the state of Rollins, you'd assume that we really wanted to murder each other in that ring! Steel chairs scattered and horrifically bent, tables shattered into pieces, Rollin's back was covered in welts, bruises and lacerations from numerous stiff shots from me, some of the bent Steel Chairs, and from a few Kendo Sticks that were now laying in a torn to shred state...it was not a pretty picture!
And you know what? The crowd seemed to love the bloodied carnage!
Rollins looked exhausted, but STILL he continued to fight back...and bare in mind that he was also busted open after one of my stiff knee and elbow shots had caused him to blade, if you know what the term means. His face was a mess, but I he wouldn't give up. Made me respect him all the more.
He was the only one who was busted open either: about 7 minutes into the match, when Rollins was getting back into the match and going wild with a Kendo Stick and a few Superkicks, out of what I assumed was instinct alone, he had gotten one of the horrifically bent chairs that I'd used on him earlier and smacked it right across my face, causing me to blade instantly!
Though when the refs tried to get over to check on me: I hit Rollins with a "Destruction Kick", my version of the Superkick, square in the jaw when he charged for another chair shot, before shoving the ref out of my way and screaming in the face of any officials and medical trainers who tried to deal with the wound to get out of my way, less they wanted to suffer by my hands!
What can I say? I love being the bad guy!
They backed off away from me afterwards, which was a smart move, and the war continued to rage on! Unfortunately, Rollins managed to recover long enough from me scaring the officials and trainers to deliver another Superkick to me, causing me to stagger back a bit a little dazed, partly because of the open wound.
He then charged straight at me once again and attempted to hit the "Sling Blade" on me, sending the back of my head crashing down onto the lip of some Steel Steps near one of the corners!
Rollins took a bit of a hit from landing on the stairs too, but the back of my head had caught the lip of the stairs, and I'm not sure which is more worse.
I made the mistake to roll onto my front as I held the back of my head, writhing a bit in pain from that unplanned spot, and it allowed Rollins to hit his "Curb Stomp" on me from the steps onto a chair that I had rolled onto, before attempting to go for the cover.
1...2...Thr...!
I kicked out of the pin attempt before the ref could get to 3, and immediately I locked in a "Kokina Clutch" like submission on Rollins as soon as I got up, my face showing a vicious and bloodthirsty snarl as I locked it in!
Fortunately for Rollins, he was able to just roll us both out of the ring onto the floor, causing me to release the hold less my head got caved into the floor. Then when he attempting to hit me with another Superkick: I hit my "Destruction Kick" on him at the same time, knocking us both back!
I was the first to recover, and I immediately threw every chair I could into the ring into one big pile, before picking up and dragging Rollins into the ring by the hair, despite my own groggy state, and then, despite some resistance from Rollins, I managed to hit a Double Powerbomb that I like to call "Halfway To Sorrow" onto the pile of chairs!
1...2...Th...!
To my shock and mild annoyance, Seth kicked out of the "Halfway To Sorrow", and that pissed me off!
Whilst he was down though, I managed to make my way up to the top of the turn buckle and attempted to hit a Diving Elbow onto him...which, fortunately for Rollins, he just manage to counter by simply rolling out of the way, causing me to crash elbow first into the stacked pile of chairs!
I can't describe what it felt like, even with my elbow pads on, but the best I can say was it felt like hell after landing on the chairs elbow first. I think I even landed on one of the bent chairs as well, which isn't a relaxing feeling in the least.
Rollins though, off of my failed move, managed to scoop me up as best as he could before hitting his version of the "Pedigree" on me onto the chairs, my face smashing face-first into the chairs once again and further opening up my head would, before attempting to go for the pin afterwards in a hurry!
1...2...Thre...!
I kicked out, barely, in the nick of time, and Rollins was screaming and seething in disbelief at me getting up from the "Pedigree"! Especially given how beat up I was.
Rollins attempted to go for another Curb Stomp, but this time I managed to get out of the way quickly, causing his foot to connect sharply with the chairs...and I used this to deliver another "Destruction Kick" onto Rollins to stun him...and then I lifted him up onto my shoulders and hit the "Death-5" onto Rollins on the stacked pile of Steel Chairs!
I then, on adrenaline alone, managed to get up onto the closest top turnbuckle as fast as my body would let me, before launching myself off of the turnbuckle as I delivered my "Shooting Death Press" onto Rollins whilst he was still laying on the chairs! And then, finally...
1...2...3!!!
As soon as that 3 was said, the crowd went ballistic, and I was stunned a bit in temporary shock! My music playing in the background only confirmed it, and even more so when I was handed the championship.
"Here is your winner, and NEW WWE Universal Champion..."The King of Destruction", DESTROYER!!!
I slowly managed to make my way onto my feet as I grabbed the title off of the referee, smirking as I held the title above my head with my good arm, my face a crimson mess and my body screaming, standing on the unconscious body of my now defeated fallen foe, Seth Rollins!
It had been hell, it had been painful, it had been everything in between...and I had loved ever sick moment of it! This was only the beginning...now, the true reign of terror begins! The Age of Destruction is at hand, and I'll be damned if I was going to let anyone stop me!
Author's Side-Note: Hope you liked this chapter. I was originally going to do a side-chapter before this, but I was getting no where with it and I was starting to get a little disappointed with that chapter, so I forced myself to get rid of it and focus more on this chapter...which I surprisingly had a lot of fun doing.
I can't promise when the next chapter will be, but I will will try to get it out as soon as I can. Anyways, Happy New Year to everyone, I hope this year will be great for you, and I hope you all have an amazing day!
