Spring

She was water.
He was ice.
They thought they would get along together.

She used to melt his heart,
but never destroyed the cool ice core he was made of.

He used to cool her down
when she was too hot-headed
when she didn't knew what's right or wrong.

But one time they both drifted apart.
She didn't get through his wall of ice.
He didn't get to cool down her fever.

And one day, they realised:
He froze her.

Or maybe she just never was meant to break through his walls.
Or maybe he was condemned, never having the ability to catch up to her.

So they parted.
So she left him, left her fear of being frozen.
So he left her, left his fear of being tiresome.

She was water.
He was ice.
Although so similar, they weren't meant to be.

She stayed still, being frozen.
Hoping, her frozen heart would stop hurting.

That's when she met Spring.

She was frozen.
He was Spring.
He melted her.
He sang her lullabies.
He warmed her heart.
He didn't expect anything.
He never was one to brag.
He never considered himself as Spring.
But it's what he is to her.
He made her realise.

She was like water.
Changing,  but also longing to be stable.

And she fell in love with spring.
And he fell in love with her.
Although she's not always warm.
Although she doesn't see herself.
Although she doesn't like herself.

But it all doesn't matter to him.
Because nothing else matters, when you're truly in love.
