3. You and Agreste
Then
"Stompp, if you can hear me, I hope you know that this was a terrible idea."
You were jumping across the buildings, adorning your hero costume. You would have to say, you really did like it. The nose ring was quite adorable and the skin tight bodysuit was a shade of medium blue that accented your skin quite nicely.
You also loved the wha it felt to almost fly through the air. You had always felt strong without the help of magic, but there was something addictively different about the way your body moved now.
There had been a villain that night but the array of miraculous ladybugs told you that they had already been defeated.
At least you could get a few minutes with the bug and cat team before they turned back into normal teenagers.
You found them on a roof near the Eiffel Tower.
"You guys having fun without me?" You called out as you landed firmly on the rooftop they had been standing on.
They both jumped and were instantly battle ready, but relaxed when they saw you.
"M'lady, I'm confused. She looks like one of us but she has to be an akumatized person right?" The boy you were assuming went by Chat Noir asked his partner.
Ladybug's brows furrowed but the tension in her expression eased as she looked you over once more. "No, she's safe."
You blinked in surprise, she trusted you very easily.
"Are you sure you aren't trusting her too easily?" The cat hero took the words right out of your head.
Ladybug shook her head. "No, I've been expecting her." She winked so smoothly that you almost wondered if she knew your relation to the guardian. She couldn't have, right?
That must've been something your grandfather would have told you.
Chat Noir blinked, looking almost as confused as you must have. He took a step towards you and looked you up and down one too many times. You felt irritation begin to rise within you.
"What's your name mystery girl?"
You rolled your eyes. You weren't fond of nicknames, especially when they were spoken to you by a stranger.
"If you don't speak now I'm going to have to do a pat down, you know to ensure you're not an akumatized victim." You glanced up at him with a horrified expression and he grinned wickedly—while winking smugly.
"You're a sick pervert." You stuck your tongue out and gagged as of you had tasted something nasty.
You glanced up at Ladybug and silently apologized to her for not taking your role your grandfather raised you to be. You were sort of relived though, after such a brief interaction.
"Ah, she speaks again." His grin never faltered.
"What is your name?" Ladybug asked as she pushed past her partner and stood face to face with you.
"(Hero name)." You smiled.
"Wow! So you talk to her!" Chat Noir yelled over Ladybug's shoulder and you glowered at him.
"She isn't being a brat!"
"I can't believe you were entrusted with a miraculous. You are so immature." Chat Noir fired back and you found yourself pushing past Ladybug and facing the cat menace.
"Funny that the word immaturity is coming out of your mouth when you have a bell in between your collar bone." You rolled your eyes and jabbed the bell.
"Oh wow how original." He mocked.
You turned towards Ladybug. "I feel sorry for you, and for myself. I think I'm going to return the miraculous." You almost thought you felt Stompp squirming in protest.
"Good riddance!" Chat Noir stuck his tongue out at you. Chat Noir truly had no real reason for acting this way towards you. He was used to this little routine that he had developed with Ladybug. He didn't exactly love the idea of adding you into that.
What could he say? He liked his alone time with his lady.
He also didn't like backing down from a challenge and you had very clearly offered one with your bashing comebacks.
He found himself grinning once more.
Game on, mystery girl, I'll show you a good time.
**
You were quite the diligent student, which made Stompp incredibly anxious.
The first week you brought him along to school with you after transforming into (H/N) he couldn't stop squirming in your backpack.
It took everything in you not to bang your head against your desk when your teacher asked you if everything was alright—after your bag fell over for the third time.
"What, did you sneak a cat in there or something?" Your friend Nathaniel whispered to you teasingly as your teacher turned her back towards you all again.
You sighed, shaking your head and leaning it against the palm of your hand. "Something like that." You had missed your friend's confused glance back towards you as you quickly scribbled down notes.
**
"Are you coming over after school?" You didn't need to stop packing up your things to know it was Adrien.
"Is that really necessary, Agreste?" You asked with a hum as you zipped up your bag.
"I mean I don't mind."
You picked up your bag and slung it around your shoulder. You sized up the blonde in front of you, not missing the minuscule smirk lining his lips.
"Is your dear old dad worried about those low A's again?" You asked with a mocking pout.
Instead of answering he shoved you forward so you would get on walking.
Adrien had learned with you a long time ago that you would never stumble. The two of you made it a game really, trying to see who could knock the other over first.
Let's just say, you win every time.
"Fine. I'll come over if you need me to tutor you that badly." You gulped, not liking the way he was staring you down. "Stop looking at me." You grumbled.
He didn't.
You never understood Adrien Agreste.
The boy was way more complex then he let on, had lots of trouble at home that he only allowed you to know bits and pieces about.
What's that saying? Keep your friends close but your enemies closer? That's what you would use to summarize your relationship.
Before Adrien joined your school you had been the top of the class without an issue.
Once he came, you felt way more pressure to keep that ranking. The boy was just so damn smart and wasn't allowed to bring anything lower than the highest marks home if he was to stay in public school.
It really gave you a run for your money.
Your grandfather didn't stress too much about your grades, but he instilled such a desire to be the best in you from such a young age—you just couldn't help but compete with him.
You and Agreste had come to a mutual understanding for each other. You didn't like each other, not one bit, but you were there to push each other and that was enough for you.
As long as that line was never crossed, the two of you could remain civil for extended periods of time.
You just hoped it would stay that way, no one wanted a repeat of the fight from the beginning of your first year.
**
"Y/n! Good to see you again."
Nathalie was always your favorite. She reminded you a lot of yourself and you decided the feeling must be mutual because she seemed to always warm up around you.
She was straight to business and you found that quite refreshing.
Adrien wasn't allowed to have people over at his house. There were a few exceptions here and there but you were the only exception allowed to stick.
When Gabriel found out that you were the one going back and forth with his son for the top ranking, he decided it would behoove (XD) his son to use your knowledge to improve his.
Yes, that's right, Gabriel Agreste has openly admitted to you that he would like his son to use you.
Parenting 101.
The two of you retired to his room and sprawled out across the floor.
The two of you went back and forth for a few hours, bouncing from problem to problem, bickering heartily when you found that you disagreed on an answer.
8/10 times you were the one who was right and your smug grin only got larger.
By the end of it you two simply laid next to each other and stared at his ginormous ceiling.
"It's unfortunate that father only allows you to stay over for an extended period of time." Adrien broke your silence.
You rolled your eyes and held at your chest dramatically. "You wound me, Agreste."
He snorted. "I still hate you, you know?" He spoke but you noticed that his body crept closer to yours, his hand slowly reaching for yours.
"Yeah." You spoke drily. "The feeling is 100% mutual."
Your hands laced together.
"Yeah." It was almost like he choked out his response. "100 percent mutual."
