Chapter 34 (Edited)

Pain, that is all I felt. I couldn't move away from it, no matter how hard I tried to move in myself. It felt as if it was everywhere. A small bit of me was laughing happily, since I now know what the touch of a Walker was like. That might be the crazy talking.

It felt as if they were ripping me from myself. It seemed like I didn't have any future, no friends, no one to care about me, and definitely no way of getting away from what hurt the most. Everything was just black or bright red from the pain.

I went deeper into myself, deeper than I had been for a long time. There, I felt a small bit of bliss, as I tried to turn the powers that were at me, back towards them. I have no idea if it worked, but I heard a screech, as if one of the W's might've been shot.

The hands were lifted from my head and I fell to the floor, panting. My whole body still shook, as I tried to get my bearings. I was wondering what had happened and why the Walkers were screeching. It sounded maybe like a train, but I couldn't tell, as I was still feeling fuzzy.

"Eira!" a voice screamed in my ear. "Come on, we need to go."

I shook my head, getting the cobwebs out. Finally, I was able to see and think clearly. I saw that all four of the W's were on the ground, screeching loudly. "Ho-?"

"No time," Ralph said, helping me up. "Whatever you did, made them stop. Now, it's time for us to escape." With that we both stumbled towards the portal and went through it. Somehow, I was still clutching my dagger and was glad. I didn't know what would've happened if I had lost it.

❄ ❄ ❄

Have you ever seen that Scooby Doo episode where it was so foggy and Scooby used his finger to cut a hole through the fog, so that he could see? Well, that was how thick it was here, wherever here was.

I couldn't see my feet, nor could I see my hands. I can't even see Ralph. I only knew that he was there, because I was leaning against him. "Don't let me go. If you do, then I might fall into nothingness," I warned. I was still unsteady on my feet.

"Wasn't planning on it," Ralph said. "If it wasn't soo... foggy white, I would get something for you." He paused, and I knew that he was thinking of something. "How did you... stop them?" he asked, as he pulled out his gem and tried to find his way to a new place.

I shrugged my shoulder ."I don't know," I said, truthfully. "I just went deeper into myself to escape the pain."

Someone chuckled to our left making me stiffen.

"T-that wasn't you, was it?" Ralph asked, nervously. I could tell that he was squinting a little, trying to see me.

"N-no," I said, still not over the fact that the Walkers had touched me. "I-it wasn't me." I tried to look to the left, but all I saw was white and nothing else. I took a deep breath, trying to cure my frayed nerves, as I stood up, putting some more weight on my own legs. "Show yourself," I commanded. Beat. "Please?"

There was another chuckle, and I could see a form of a lion. I didn't scream, as it bowed his head towards me. "Princess, it is finally a pleasure to meet you," he said. "Let me let some light show through, so you two can see each other." With that he made it less foggier around us. He looked at Ralph, after he done that and nodded his head ."It is good to see you again."

Ralph cleared his throat and nodded his head. "It's good to see you again also, Arzon,"  he said, respectfully. "Thank you for letting us see each other."

The lion, or Arzon, nodded his head. "It is my pleasure," he said. He looked at me, a smile gracing his face. "You must be really stupid or brave to go towards the Walker."

I looked down and shrugged my shoulder. "It was stupidity," I said, shyly. It was weird talking to a lion. I mean I haven't done it and if I had done it before, then I didn't remember.

Arzon chuckled. "Yes, it was stupidity, but it is, also, showed bravery. That is what a true leader needs."

I snorted and rolled my eyes. "A true leader is someone who won't back down from a battle. I backed down from the W's, until they had us cornered."

"But then, you stood up to them," Arzon replied. "You pushed Ralph towards this place and didn't think about yourself."

I shrugged. "I was thinking what their touch felt like, and I knew that Ralph had went through more pain before me. I don't know what would happen if he got killed, so I shoved him." I paused and took a deep breath. "I knew that my uncle wouldn't want me dead. I knew that he wanted to kill me, and I guess that is what I wanted. Or not really, but I would've been at Angesia and maybe my stone would have came back to me."

Arzon studied me for a minute, before nodding his head. "You might have gotten your stone, sooner, but your destiny would've been ripped from you. That's what the Walker's touch do. It takes away your destiny and makes you just mush."

I nodded my head and looked around. "Do you think we will be able to find David and Laura while staying in here? I think more Walkers are out there, and I don't have the strength to do what I did to the first group." To be honest, I didn't know what I did to them.

Arzon nodded his head. "Follow me," he said. With that, he turned one way and started to walk away.

Ralph and I followed him. We stayed silent, thinking about stuff.

It's strange following a lion. It made me think of either 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe', or The Wizard of Oz'. Huh, tiredness must've been speaking.
