Chapter - 2

Found him.

Would you still want the blueberry even if it isn't perfectly ripe yet?

Finding the real identity of ice cream wasn't as difficult as accepting the prospect that it might not be to my liking. A few naturalistic observations and a few more search engines later the shade of blueberry wasn't hidden anymore. Must add it was a team effort. Another ice cream lover found me his details and here we are considering whether to laugh or cry at the newfound information. He is the utmost perfect being but might not be perfect for me.

His smile doesn't trigger that giddiness anymore now that it's pretty much clear he might not be preferable for my taste buds. A family person. A friendly guy. Moreover, an egocentric early adult. Might as well be in his late teens.

No wonder they say never judge a book by its cover. The cover was pretty deceiving. Not the first time though. This is one of the repeated patterns that has been taking over for ages now. The only difference this time is that I was never too expressive on this matter. Now that I am no longer lying to myself, I hate to admit it hurts. It hurts when dreams shatter spreading the tiny molecules of your hopes everywhere.

Days earlier the plan was to find. Now the plan is to forget. Forgive, forget, you will never regret, is what they say. But do we ever forget? Can we ever forgive our hearts for distracting us from the bigger picture only to be torn into pieces?

It's a never-ending game for me, hence never felt the lasting side effects. But for those who are involved, those who invest, it is always a big deal for them to let go of something that made them smile. Hope is what we search for. A reason we always need to survive is to want to thrive. Those who have yet to discover their mission on this plane of existence usually mistake short-term goals for long-term achievements. That's where the rift originates gradually destroying everything.

In this scenario, ice cream was only one of the many available desserts. Now, the moral is we can't live on sweets forever. Every dish, every flavour has its nutritional and satiety in our lives. Why be obsessed over one?
