Chapter XIV
Kylo led you to a smaller hangar than the one you'd landed in. There were several stormtroopers marching around, weapons in hand. Behind large windows you could see deep into space, explosions all around.
"Are we safe here?" You asked Kylo, and he shook his head.
"No, we're leaving, going to train on a desolate planet." He threw his own bag into a small ship. "After you." He held the door open and you jumped in quickly.
"Woah, spacious." You looked around, surprised at the open space inside the ship. There were two comfortable chairs in a small lounge and a cabin for the pilot. "Who's flying?" You asked, but Kylo was already in the pilot's chair. "You fly?!" You had no idea. It made you realise that you really didn't know anything about Kylo.
He grinned at started the engine. You had to admit, he looked incredibly sexy doing that. The ship floated smoothly in the air before shooting out the enormous starship, flying away from the explosions, away from the war.
"Is no one going to follow us?" You asked, suddenly a bit frightened of being blown up. It was a war after all, and you had no idea what these space-aliens had for weaponry.
"Don't worry, we're sending out an extra fleet to draw attention away from us and we're too small to show up on the radar."
The flight took a few hours and you were nervous, obviously, since this would be the very first planet you'd visit beside Earth. "Can I float? Is there water? Are there trees? What kind of animals are there? Is it hot or cold? Or just an average temperature?" Questions kept flying out of your mouth and you saw Kylo getting more annoyed by the minute.
"Please just..." he started to say, but you got the hint and shut up. The aircraft started to lower down into the clouds that covered up this planet. A frown formed upon his face and you sunk further down into your seat while closing your eyes.
After what seemed another few hours, the ship finally landed smoothly and only when the last whirring had stopped, you dared opening your eyes. The surroundings stunned you: beautiful blue lakes, green scenery, trees reaching into the clouds as far as you could see. There were birdlike creatures flying around and the ground crawled with tiny animals. You'd never seen a more beautiful sight than this, but while you were gazing into the unknown world, Kylo opened the ship and jumped out. He made his way into the woods, and you hurried to follow him before he would disappear.
"Wait!" You yelled after him, but he kept walking. You ran to catch up with him.
"What's the hurry for?" You were out of breath but the time you'd covered the distance that had formed between the two of you.
"We barely have time to train." Kylo coldly said, again not adjusting the pace, so you kept a jogging pace to keep up with him.
He kept walking for another thirty minutes or so, before slowing down a little and eventually stopping. "Here we'll make a camp to sleep."
With we he apparently meant you, because he sat down, made a fire and considered his job done. You started to wander into the woods surrounding you and looked for logs and large leaves, but what you found instead was quite astounding. It looked almost solid, yet just a little like what you imagined a hologram would look like. The greyish bark looked vivid yet old, it stretched high into the sky. A massive, old tree. It made a sound that called to you, as if it was calling for help. It wanted you to step inside. You followed your feet as they marched you inside a cove in the tree, bent into its heart.
Inside there was fog and a dripping sound. "Hello?" You asked, suddenly realising you were on a literal strange planet, inside a literal tree without even checking whether that was safe to do. I need to get out. Yet your body wasn't responding to your brainwaves. Aaargh- move!!!
The ground started to shake, first soft, subtle tremors but soon they were near earth-quakey and you had to grab onto an ingrown branch to keep your stance. A sudden gust of wind blew you to the ground anyway, and a bright light appeared right ahead of you. Through your fingers your eyes were adjusting to the brightness and slowly there were figures appearing, only their silhouettes visible to the human eye.
"Hello?!" You tried to say again, but your tongue felt paralysed. The figures came closer and soon you could make out Kylo's large and broad body. He was blocking the second person with his muscular appearance, but the man opposed of him seemed a little older. Kylo carried his lightsaber. You felt a shockwave go through your body and as if it wasn't bad enough, you now found yourself in completely other surroundings. An industrial hall, filled with red and blue light. In the middle, a bridge with two people standing on it. Again, you recognised one to be Kylo and the other... no bells rang. He looked about the same age as Luke, back on the other ship. The atmosphere in the hall was quiet but tensed. As if something that was always supposed to happen, was now finally about to happen. The colours shifted, the red outbalancing the blue. A small gesture on the bridge and the old man was holding Kylo's hand. The platform you stood on started to tremble and soon you were falling into the deep darkness and above you, the old man got impaled with a lightsaber and followed you into the abyss.
