Chapter III

"You're saying you have this power that only five others have?" Catherine snickered, and curled her mouth into a pensive smile. Impossible, with this many people... or like, aliens, in the galaxy there's got to be more than five creatures that have this power. Kylo Ren blinked and swallowed. He wanted to tell her that it wasn't impossible, but he'd decided it would be wise to keep his mouth shut about his mind-reading powers. That way, he could always know what was going on in her mind, without her altering her thoughts.

"Correct. Now, I don't have any more time for chitchatting, so please leave." He said and pointed at the door. She looked at him like he'd gone crazy. She probably thought he was crazy.

"Okay, mister, this is still my house and you're not commanding me." She tried to go against him, but he stretched his arm in her direction and she slid backwards to the door. When she was across the doorstep, he shut the door with a flick of his wrist. A careful twist with his index finger and the lock turned round. She was locked outside and slamming the door. "You did NOT just do that! You did NOT just DO that!" She yelled, still slamming her fists on the door.

Catherine was still a bit taken aback by the ease with which Kylo had removed her from the room and had locked the door. She didn't even have a key to the room. She could only go into her bedroom and wait until he'd unlock it. I could block the door with a chair from the outside, so he can't get out. She thought, but realised that if he could move her around, a chair wouldn't be a problem either. And so, she slid into bed and started to process everything that had happened that day.

A scream woke Catherine up. She looked checked her phone. 3:35 AM. What the hell is going on. She stepped out of her bed and walked to the living room. She realised too late the door was shut, so she ran into it headfirst. "Fuuuck!" She yelled, rubbing her head. Why is this door closed? She tried to open it, but found it to be locked. "Hello?" It took a minute for her to realise what had happened the day before. The man, Kylo, outer space, space ship, wires, special powers. She knocked on the door. "Please open up, I need a glass of water." She lied, oblivious to the fact that Kylo Ren could read her mind. She saw the door knob turn around and the door swung open. Kylo sat in the same place she left him in, looking furiously frustrated. She eyed him down, and proceeded to the kitchen to grab a glass. "How's it going?" She knew it'd annoy him.

"If you know something will bug me, don't do it. You don't want to get on my bad side." He growled. Catherine chuckled and let water run over her hands. She splashed some of the cold water into her face, and then held her glass underneath the stream. "Bring me that glass." Kylo's voice sounded a little different from before. More... authoritative, demanding. Shit, I can't let him know I kind of like being commanded like that. She hurried over to him and gave him the glass of water. Kylo looked a bit disturbed, almost as if he'd read her mind. Oh god, can he read my mind?! It wouldn't surprise me, with all that invisible power and all. Can you read my mind? She looked at Kylo insinuatingly. Just a sign will do. He kept a stern look and drank the cold water until the glass was empty. "Refill, now."

"Wake up!" The strict male voice penetrated Catherine's dreams. She blinked a few times and realised she'd fallen asleep on the couch. She wiped away a trail of drool on her chin. "We must leave now. Pack some essentials." The dark-haired man was busy on his glass-plate tablet. She started to get up.

""Where are we going?" She had no idea what to pack for.

"The South Pole." Kylo answered. Catherine stopped dead in her tracks.

"Are you mad? How are we going to go there? Do you have money? Do you have any idea of how long it will take us to get there?" Catherine's mind felt like it was on fire. "Won't the North Pole do? That's closer to England, and just a bit easier to access." She had no idea what to say or do. This man was really about to take her to the South Pole.

"Listen up, weakling," Kylo began saying, suddenly seeming very threatening, "you're going to come with me to the South Pole. I don't care how we're getting there, as long as we are. You're going to take care of it."

Catherine was now starting to become a bit scared. This had been a bit fun up until now. "You want me to just leave everything behind here? I have a job, I've got to go to school, my friends and family... what will they think? They'll be worried sick.."

"Do you think I care even in the slightest?" Kylo rose to his feet and Catherine only now noticed how tall he really was. "You're a puny, young girl. I could kill you with my bare hands, and not feel any sort of remorse." His hand appeared from behind him and he made the same movement as earlier. An invisible force close her throat slowly, only this time it wasn't any fun. Oh shit, shit, shit. This is not kinky, this is scary. I don't want to die. Her face slowly turned a darker red, verging on purple, when he let her go. She gasped and almost cried from the pain he had caused.

"I'm not puny and young." She whispered, more to herself than to Kylo, but he heard her. All he did was laugh. A cackling laugh that turned her blood cold. She stood up. "I'm NOT puny and young! You heard me. I can stand up for myself, and I don't need funky powers to prove myself or make up for my lack of self-confidence." Catherine mentally slapped herself in the face. Fucking! Hell! Cath! Way to make this situation better for yourself!

The smile melted off Kylo's place and made place for a nasty grimace. "Really? You can really defend yourself? Ha, I beg to differ. You'd die if I threw a tooth pick in your general direction." Then, Kylo turned around and fumbled a bit with his glass plate. "Get ready." That was the last thing he said to Catherine, and she decided to obey his order. She knew he was partly right: he could kill her if he wanted to.
