At first, Nyx thought she imagined the voice.

 But it spoke again. "Come," it said. 

Nyx looked into the forest and then a dragon emerged. The dragon's scales were reddish pink with some gold, and her wings were pale blue. She had spikes like an IceWing, but only on her neck and tail. Her eyes were blue, but they seemed to have flecks of gray, too. 

"Who are you?" asked the dragon. 

"Oh, I'm Nyx. Sorry, I didn't really hear you the first time." 

The dragon seemed to stare at Nyx for a bit, but then said, "I'm Alpine. Before you ask about my scales, I'm a hybrid. My mom was a SkyWing and my dad was, unfortunately, an IceWing. No offense." 

"It's fine," Nyx assured her. But it did sort of make her wonder why Alpine didn't like IceWings. 

"Where am I?" Nyx asked, realizing that she might be trespassing. 

Alpine looked a little puzzled and said, "You're in the rainforest. Can't you tell?" 

"Oh," whispered Nyx. "Uh, I was never really taught geography." 

Alpine looked at her again. "You're not a normal IceWing, are you?" she asked.

 "No." It was hard to admit, but for some reason this time it felt easier. 

"Hey, it's okay," Alpine reassured her. "An IceWing killed my mother before I hatched, but you probably didn't have anything to do with that. So, I'm guessing you didn't grow up in the Ice Kingdom." 

"No WAY," Nyx replied. "Those dragons in the Ice Kingdom just kidnapped my dad and my sister and tried to kidnap me. I would never want to live there." 

"Your dad and sister?" Alpine repeated. "You must have done something terrible for Glacier to want to  capture you." 

"The funny thing is I don't know what we did," Nyx explained. "All I know is that I need to save my family."

 Alpine looked at her with  understanding. "I can help," she said, "All of us can."

 "All?" Nyx asked and Alpine nodded. 

"Follow me," Alpine said.

Nyx followed Alpine through the rainforest and was amazed by it. There were flowers almost everywhere, and there were so many colors. Nyx loved this place. 

Finally, the two dragons arrived at one of the most majestic places Nyx had ever seen. A giant treehouse was in the trees and had smaller treehouses all around it. But as Nyx was looking at the amazing sight, she saw a throwing star whiz past her.
