Shira tells Diego she's pregnant with his cub

Diego had woken up with a yawn and stared out at the morning sun " gotta admit that sun makes me feel like I'm gonna have a good day today,what about you Shira?" He stood up and stretch his body and legs but when he didn't get a response he looked at his right to find that his mate was nowhere."Huh?Shira?Hmm..." He spotted his friends Manny and Sid and decided to ask them if they've seen his mate.Meanwhile Shira was with Ellie talking to her about something important that Ellie would understand
"Shira's POV"

"So you think Diego would be really happy about it?" I asked looking up at an Ellie excited " Well of course after all if you and Diego have been planning to be parents ever since that whole asteroid thing then I'm sure he's gonna be happy" Ellie told me placing her trunk on my shoulder and I smiled a bit excited to tell my mate the big news..he's going to love it."Shira!" I turn my head to see my mate with his friends " Well time for me to wow Diego I guess" I told Ellie standing up while she helped me "Good luck""Thanks" I made my way over to my mate.
"Diego's POV"

"You know it's not like Shira to just wake up early and leave all of sudden without me" I told my friends as we made our way over there to Ellie and Shira " Maybe Shira's planning something for ya but she doesn't want you to find out" Sid told me as he tried to pry open a coconut but instead he lost his grip and it hit his face I silently laughed at him "Although I think Sid's right,maybe Shira is planning something for ya" Manny told me and I thought about it deeply,I realized we arrived to the two girls " I'll ask her.Thanks guys" I told them before making my way to Shira.

"Hey Kitty" Diego approached his mate as Ellie went to talk to Manny"Hey Softie""I um...I notice you weren't there this morning" Shira had her ears down but kept a nervous smile " Sorry about that.I didn't feel well this morning so I thought I see Ellie...you know...girl stuff" Diego nodded " Hey since we didn't get breakfast wanna go hunt for some""um yeah sure" the two sabers made their way over to a spot where there were some wild boars,Shira was excited to tell her mate the surprise she had and she wanted the right moment too.
"Diego's POV"

We found a boar that was away from the group which made it perfect for me and Shira to stalk it,I crouched down sneaking upon it but I notice Shira was struggling a little " Shira you alright?" She gave up on the crouching and lied down completely " Yeah just um not feeling well" I wasn't sure what's she hiding,I'm hoping it's nothing bad " tell you what I'll hunt the boar,you wait here ok?" She nodded to me and I turn back to the boar getting closer too it.I snarled quietly before jumping at it.
"Shira's POV"

I watched Diego chased the boar for awhile, I stood up following him.When I arrived he caught the boar and smiled at me triumphly " Breakfast for two" I chuckled blushing a little before enjoying the meal,after that I told him to meet me at the meadow the spot where he confessed his love for me.We spent the whole day there,playing a bit and chatting until nightime.I was resting on his shoulder closing my eyes and enjoying the warmth he was giving me " So nice day huh?" I just nodded to him yes but then he asked me something out of the blue " Shira are you ok?Lately today you've been acting strange like waking up early and leaving me and not hunting with me plus I won every game you and I were playing.Is there something your not telling me?"

Shira took a deep breath knowing now was the right moment to tell Diego the big news,she stood up from her spot away from Diego,he was nervous now and worried for his mate his friend.He made his way over to her hoping she was ok"Shira...you can tell me.Were mates,friends" What the brown saber didn't see was a smirk appearing on Shira's face.She instantly turn around and pounced on him surprising the male.
"Diego's POV"

I stared at Shira surprised at what just happen,she smirked at me and leaned down to me ear whispering something " I'm pregnant.And your gonna be a dad"

I got off of Diego and he had a stun expression,he slowly stood up and looked at me almost if he was unsure to believe me " So let me get this straight,I are having a cub""Yes" I said it nervously,I know that before the asteroid he wanted to start a family and so did I."Diego?" I asked a little worried but I gasped when he tackled me to the ground,he smiled at me really big " I'm gonna be a dad?!And your gonna be a mom?!""Yes!""hahah!This is the best thing I've ever heard!"
He started nuzzling and licking my face making me laugh.

"ok! Ok!I get it your happy" She laughed from the affection, swatting at him to stop.Diego finally stopped and rested on his side as Shira snuggled with them,her head under his chin " We're gonna be the parents" he whispered completely overjoyed as Shira giggled " Yeah.Looks like we're gonna need parenting advice from the mammoths " we chuckled a bit " So having a cub on the way,is that what you were hiding?""Yeah,it's why I woke up early.I didn't felt well so I went to Ellie and well when I learn you and I were having a cub,I wanted to find the right moment to tell you""Well you found a good one" Diego placed his paw on Shira's stomach feeling the cub's kicks and the two smiled before falling asleep.
