"Dad. Daaaad. Wake up"

Diego grumbled in his sleep as he opened his eyes tiredly. The cub was gently pulling on his ear and climbing on top of him. He glanced at the cub and grabbed his scruff, gently dragging him over so he could look at him.

"What's up kiddo?" He asked as he yawned, showing his sharp teeth in front of Tackle which amazed the cub at how powerful a hunter his dad was. "I heard mom calling. I think she's looking for us" the little cub explained and on cue, they heard a roar far off. Diego's ear twitched at it, recognizing it belonged to his mate.

"Heh. She must be looking for us. Come on bud. We don't wanna keep her waiting" he told her, getting up from his sleeping spot and stretching his body. His stomach felt better after eating a full meal.

"Hey dad. You had fun this Father's day right?" Tackle asked with excitement, hoping to hear a good answer from his dad. Diego smiled warmly at his kid and ruffled the fur on his head. "Yeah I had fun. With you, it's always a blast" he told him as his cub beamed at him, smiling big as he was glad his dad had fun.

The two cats' ears twitched at another distanced roar calling them back. "Come on. Let's get going before your mom comes looking for us" Diego said as the two walked back to the den. The brown saber smiled at his cub. The one thing that made him glad, whether it was fathers day or not, was spending time with his son as much as possible. He knew one day Tackle would no longer be a cub but for now he wanted to enjoy this time with him.

The father and son had made their way back to the den where they found Shira waiting, licking her paws. She glanced away from her paw when caught their scent and spotted them arriving. She smiled at seeing those two getting along and talking. Shira always took the advantage of Father's day to allow the two bond together.

"Hey boys. You had fun?" She told them as she walked up to them. The striped feline nuzzled her mate first and then her cub who eagerly rubbed against her front leg. "Yeah we did. Did some hunting and took a nice long nap. Tackle here made sure I had fun" Diego told her, placing a paw around his cub who looked up at him happy, wagging his tail.

Shira smiled glad to hear. Little did her mate know that she had a mishevious plan that was put in motion.

"Hey Taaaaackle!"

The cub's ears perked up, recognizing that voice and he turned to his right. His smiled widened at seeing some familar faces. "Vibe! Kiko! Talia!" Tackled yelled excited as he ran over to them. Kiko and Vibe charged at him and got into a playfight with the cub.

"Talia hey how's it going?" Diego asked the she wolf, surprised to see her and the kids here. "Pretty good. Shira told me to come take Tackle to spend some time with us" she explained to him and that surprised the cat.

"She did?" He asked, surprised to hear that. He wondered what led to his mate doing that? "Thanks Tal. Diego and I will come by later to pick Tackle up" Shira popped in, telling the wolf. "Alright then. I'll see you later. Come on pups" Talia told the kids as Shira headed back inside the den. "Bye mom! Bye dad!" Tackle called out as he and his friends followed the brown wolf.

"Shira. You didn't tell me you made plans to have Talia babysit Tackle today. What gives?" Diego said suspicious as he followed after his mate in the den. To his confusion, she was nowhere in sight. He felt something was up with his mishevious mate.

"Oof!"

All of sudden, he found himself pinned to the ground by his mate who stood above him with a smug grin. Part of Diego was annoyed that she caught him by surprise while the other part was enamored by her right now. "I told Talia to take Tackle so that I can give you my fathers day gift. Alone" she explained to him misheviously and Diego smirked at her, already understanding what his gift was and looking forward to it.
