Shira was licking herself clean, her ears twitched at sound of rain dripping down and rumble from the thunderstorm. Diego was out on a bros trip with Manny, and Sid so it was only her and her cub Tackle in the den. Speaking of Tackle, he was curled into a ball, fast asleep.

Boom!

"Gasp!"

Tackle jumped to his feet, startled by the sudden loudness in the den. "Ah! What's that?" Tackle asked, his senses on high alert and ears down afraid. He scanned the den around for what could've made that sound. "Easy, baby" his ears perked up at his mom's voice, turning his head to her. Her presence and voice calmed him down a little.

"It's just a little thunder. It will pass" she assured him, continuing to lick her paw. He heard it rumble again, and quickly ran to his mom, seeing her as the one thing that can protect him. He hopped into his mom's open arm, curling into a ball against her chest. Shira turned away from her paw and down to her son, smiling in amusement at how cute he can be.

"Aw. Is my baby scared of the thunder?" She playfully teased him, licking his head. "I'm not scared. I'm fierce! And brave! And-" Tackle denied strongly, further amusing his mom as she rolled her eyes.

Boom!

"Ah!" Tackle yelled startled, going back into Shira's warm embrace, shaking. "Aw, it's ok, baby. It will go away. You just gotta sleep through it" she told him calmly, running her paw across the fur on his head.

"I don't think I can sleep through it. It's way too loud" Tackle said, thinking otherwise as he shook his head. Shira thought to herself what to do to help her cub sleep easily. Normally, Diego was the one in charge of that sorta thing. Her ears then perked when she did think of something, and the best part, Diego wasn't here to see it so he wouldn't make any comments about it.

"Hey, buddy" she told him, getting his attention so he could look at her. "I know something that might you sleep baby" she told him slyly, getting his ears perked up curiously. "Put on your listening ears, ok" she instructed him as he adjusted his position so he was looking up at her, wrapped around her strong arms.

"Ready?" She told him as he nodded, waiting anxiously to see what she had planned. Shira never thought she would openly do this with anyone. She only did it with herself. But if it would help Tackle sleep easily, then she wouldn't mind this time. Taking a deep breath, she opened her mouth and Tackle's ears perked at a voice from her that he never heard before:

"Here I go, here I go"

"Feel better now, feel better now"

"Here I go, here I go"

"It's better now, feel better now"

"Do you remember when we fell under?"

"Do you expect me to reason with thunder?"

Tackle completely forgot about the thunder storm outside, just staring at his mother, amazed. He never thought to hear her sing. But it was beautiful. Her voice was deep and soothing. It calmed him down. The cub relaxed in his mother's embrace, resting his head on her large paws as he listened to her song.

Tackle's ears twitched at the rumbling outside the den from the thunderstorm, but it didn't bother him. He was lost in Shira's lullaby to pay attention to it. He felt his eyes getting heavy and his head, too. Tackle leaned against his mother's furry chest, feeling sleep take over him.

Shira glanced down to look at her son. He was fast asleep, softly breathing as he was in a ball, curled inside her arms. She smiled softly at him, glad to see her son resting easily. The storm had passed so now Tackle can sleep without being disturb. Shira leaned down to lick his forehead before nuzzling it, and resting her head near him, pleased to see her song helped her baby sleep peacefully.
