【 Zack's POV 】

"Koda! Look... I think he's alive!"

"Let's get out of here, Mae... This place is creeping me out.."

"And leave him? We can't just do that... He'll die!"

What is this?

CRACK!

A gust of warm air blasts in my face. I cough and splutter, bewildered at the sensation of being dragged.

"Almost there!" The feminine voice huffs. "I got him!"

My eyes feel like they've never been used before. I can only see a blurry image of my surroundings. Instead of seeing a girl hovering above me, I see a creature with tubes hanging from various parts of it. Its face is a sickly shade of green.

I choke out a scream and manage to scoot a few inches away.

"I told you he was alive!" One of the creatures exclaim.

"That is, if he survives the trip back home. Do I have to carry him?" the masculine voice is garbled and unclear in my head. I can't see him, but I don't have a doubt that he looks the same as the girl.

Someone hoists me up onto their shoulders. I shout in alarm and squirm a little before my eyes roll back into my head.

I'm able to open my eyes every now and then. Once I see a glimpse of a very cloudy sky, smog filling it until the clouds look green. The second time I see overwhelmingly bright lights and people shouting. I can barely hear them. I fall asleep again, for a really long time.
