Dread
"How in the ever-loving lost Guardians did you forget where they lived!? You're nothing more than an overgrown sea-snail if I've ever seen one!" Ziah hissed, as Lucian tried to calm Ziah down.
"Calm yourself, Z. Vespera can't be expected to remember everything. Besides, the Guardian could've moved locations since they last met." Lucian offered up, as Vespera nodded. "Indeed. If I must, though, I may track them down using my magic. They should have more than everyone else in this... near barren expanse, no?" Vespera hummed, before dipping her head.
Lucian nodded, agreeing with her. "Did the green one just use us as an expression? Ha, that's so stupid. We're not lost!" Fehu cackled, as Uruz spoke up. "I mean, there are other lost Guardians, too... And we are technically lost to a good chunk of the worlds..."
Lucian sighed as Ziah reluctantly dropped the conversation, and Vespera quieted down. Fehu and Uruz, however, kept going at it. "So, Vespy, anything?" Lucian pondered, as Vespera's magic flared, the patterns on her body glowing an ethereal blue. "Yes, I do believe I have located the Guardian." Vespera confidently answered.
"-you really believe that story Lucian read? There's no way not a single thing saw the end of our fight! At least our story would've persisted-" Fehu. "Of course it's possible! Are you wanting to make me tear your throat out!?" Uruz.
"Can you two knock it off, you're making my head spin." Lucian grumbled under her breath, causing Ziah and Vespera to glance over at the purple dragon confusedly. "Ignore me. Talking to myself, not you." Lucian dismissed their concerns, as she focused on Vespera's words. "Odd. Regardless of Lucian's peculiar behaviors, it seems naught like the Guardian is too far from our current location."
"Whatever you say, sea-slug." Ziah snipped, as Lucian took in what Vespera said. "Directions?" She asked, as Vespera dipped her head, and flared her wing in the general direction. "They appear to be in that direction?" Vespera replied- albeit, confusedly.
Lucian nodded. "Off we go, then. Best not to waste time longer than it needs to be, I hate how off balance everything feels." Lucian grumbled, as Vespera nodded, leading the way as Ziah followed behind Lucian.
"Hey, Lulu, how can you trust anything that- that- einzeller says!?" Ziah whispered, as Vespera shot a glare towards Ziah. "I've known Vespera for most of my life. Plus, it's not like she's going to kill us." Lucian flatly commented, as Ziah rolled her eyes.
Silence passed over the group as they progressed towards a large town. Maybe it was classified as a small city, Lucian couldn't tell. "We have to look there?" Lucian asked, as Vespera nodded. "It does appear to be that way, yes." The gray dragon confirmed, as Ziah hissed.
"This will take forever! Ugh, you two old farts better find them quickly, I'm gonna try to barter around for stuff." Ziah groaned, before taking off.
Shaking her head, Lucian sighed. "In that case, find me if you need me, Vespy. I'll take the upper portions of the city." Lucian proclaimed, as Vespera nodded.
Shooting up into the sky, Lucian flew around the large tower-like structures that caved them in, the buildings in the city were much larger than any human building Lucian had ever seen!
Gliding her wings, each flap was precise as Lucian peered out into the town, trying to feel for any dragon- or any other creature, with large quantities of magic. It wasn't Lucian's main domain, but she could still use her abilities to her advantage if she needed to.
Landing on the highest building, Lucian took a deep breath of air as she looked out. Dragons flooeded one of the parks, surrounding what was likely a celebrity. "That's the Guardian, I feel it in my bones!" "You don't... have bones? You're an auditory hallucination of Lucian's at this point, Fehu." The two voices in Lucian's head argued back and forth as Lucian reached out to feel.
Sure enough, large waves of magic radiated off of them in this empty expanse. It was pitiful compared to Vespera, obviously, but it was still quite impressive. "I'm not an auditory hallucination! You've clearly never had one of those before!" Fehu snapped. "Knock it off. You're not even remotely close to a hallucination, you're literally the voices in my head that override my thoughts." Lucian hissed, before spreading her wings again.
Gliding down towards the park, Lucian caught sight of Vespera not too far from the new Guardian and was rapidly approaching. Ziah, however, was a complete mystery.
With a landing Lucian would classify as good enough, she tried to make her way through the crowd. "Excuse me?" Lucian called out, of course her voice being drowned out by the many others trying to catch the Guardian's attention. "Back off! I'm getting to talk to her first!" A dragon snapped, shoving Lucian out of the way.
"Let me at 'em! I'll make sure to get the Guardian's attention!" Fehu cried as Lucian had to force her thoughts back onto the Guardian.
This was going to be a long day, wasn't it?
