I - 2

Sanskar was all ready to leave from home. "Sanskar" his Dadi called him while he was descending the stairs. He walked to her. She handed him a bag. "These are some gifts for..." "I know Paru." he smiled at her.

"And this is for Nitara. I had forgotten her birthday sorry" she said cutely. "She will be happy" Sanskar smiled taking the gift box. "So you are going to the orphanage before airport?" Abhi walked to him.

"Yup" Sanskar adjusted his tie. Sanskar looked at his brother through the mirror. He found Abhi in his own thoughts. "I am thinking to visit Sarala Maa also on the way" he said and observed the changes in his brother's face.

"And sometimes it isn't difficult to say sorry brother. You just need the right courage and right realization" he held the suitcase and looked at his brother for one last time and walked out.

Placing the luggage in the back side of the car he sat in the driver seat and ignited the engine. Abhi watched his brother from the window of his room.

His words ringed in his mind. "Abhi" he drifted his gaze when he heard Raman's voice. "Aren't you coming to office today?" asked he looking at his brother who was not yet ready.

"Um. Yeah. I will leave in an hour Bhai" he said moving to the closet. "Still worried about Chote's word is it? Don't take his words seriously. You know how he is don't you?" Raman said and Abhi nodded his head looking at his brother and walked to the washroom.

Raman nodded his head and walked down the stairs to reach the dining table. "Chote left?" he asked his Dadi. "Um hm" she nodded her head and served him the break fast. "Dadi... why do you keep doing this stuff? Aren't the servants there?" Raman stopped her.

"Servants are not for taking care of the home Beta. They can't look after you like a family member. Who could take care they are already gone" she sad sadly. "Dadi we had enough discussion about it. Both the sisters are not any small kids. They have enough brain to think what is right and what is not" he said leaving the break fast half eaten and stormed out of the house.

"I wish you ever understood the importance of self respect for a woman. I am the unlucky person who could not teach you all this. I let you grow up under your father who was lovelorn and had a bitter experience with his marriage. I thought at least your wives will teach you but you made them to accept the defeat that they cannot change you people. And what is left? A broken family" she said sitting on the chair.

Abhi strode down the stairs. He sat in his place and was having breakfast. "Ohho. You always have to eat the snacks early morning" he felt Pragya's voice and turned to his left. It reminded him of past.

He moved his hand to touch her but her image disappeared. His face fell. He unwillingly had the breakfast and walked out of the house.

Sanskar stood outside a small house waiting for the door to open. He pressed the calling bell again. The door opened and he smiled at Sarala- Pragya and Ishita's mother.

"Why have you come here? Anything is there which your brothers have spared?" she spoke sternly. "Sarala Maa" he tried explaining but Sarala stopped him by showing her palm.

"Chachu" they both heard a squeal and changed their expression. "Ruhi" Sanskar moved forward and took her in his arms. "You had promised you will come yesterday" she pouted cutely and crossed her arms.

"Sorry Princess" he held his ear apologetically. "You know na Sunshine's birthday yesterday?" he said squeezing his eyes. "I know you always love her more than us. Don't you?" she complained. "I can't help that though" he said bending his head.

"Yeah of course Chachu always loves Nitara more. Any doubt in that Ruhi" they heard a voice and turned to see Kiara standing with her both the hands placed on her waist.
"Oh my my. Someone is looking so gorgeous today" he walked to her and lifted her also in his other arms. "I'm not talking to you" she crossed her arms and twisted her lips.

"I'm doomed. Two of my princesses are angry on me. Hey Bhagwan you only have to save me today" he said looking up helplessly. "Oh you forgot what you used to call me chachu? Am I your princess?" Kiara asked and Sanskar smiled at her.

"I got you talking. I did not forget I call you as my Gudiya" he kissed her cheek and she opened her mouth. "You are so so so bad chachu" she whined. Ruhi giggled looking at her.

"He he. Where is that Ruhi Maatha ka prakop you were talking about ha? As soon as you saw chachu you forgot about it" Kiara rolled her eyes. "So. He is my favorite favorite chachu" Ruhi dangled her hands across Sanskar's neck.

"No he is my favorite Chachu" Kiara dangled her hands across Sanskar's neck too. He stumbled but held them tight.

"Of course I am both of your favorite chachu. No competition in that" he said and they both kissed his cheeks on either side.

Sarala looked at them emotionally. "Kiara, Ruhi. Go get ready you will be late to the school" Sarala told them and they got down from Sanskar's arms and ran inside.

"Chachu" both peeped from the door of the room. "You will come back soon na from London?" they asked and he nodded his head smiling at them.

He turned to Sarala who stood stiffly. "Maa" she showed her palm to stop him. "Don't argue from your brothers side. They don't deserve it" she walked inside and he stood defeated.

He then drew to the orphanage. Nitara stood crossing her arms in front of him. "You are five minutes late lambu" she narrowed her eyes. "Traffic you see sunshine" he smiled sheepishly at her. "Every time the same reason" she cocked her head towards left.

"Now if they build a road every week and change the root every second day, what am I supposed to do? We are in a developing country sunshine. Though we know it has been four years still we are waiting for those promised ache din. And we will again fall in the same trap of ache din again" he sat in front of her.

"It was a bouncer" she moved her hand above her head signing. "Satire in front of a 10 year old kid. Are you in your senses?" she asked waving her hands in air.

"Sholly"he held his ears cutely. "You know every time this expression saves you" she rolled her eyes nodding her head. And Sanskar hugged her drooling happy.

"You are the best" he said. "I know" she said with attitude and then chuckled and Sanskar kissed her cheek lovingly.

"I will miss you" he said emotionally. "I will miss you too Lambu. But for that you are not supposed to be careless about your food alright? You have to have food on time and also sleep on time. When you return I don't want to see a single wrinkle on your face. Or else I'm gonna hulk smash that toy breaker for sure. Tell him" she raised her chin.

"Aye aye captain" Sanskar saluted her and kissed her forehead and Nitara hugged him. She felt the pain of separating from her lambu but maintained the stiff face. Sanskar smiled when he understood his Nitara was trying not to show that pain.

She walked with him till the car holding his hand.

She has never got so much love in her life. She did not even know what love is. It was always Sanskar who made her realize that there is this pure emotion called love which is so selfless. Without any relation the way Sanskar cared for her and loved her made her believe that the world is not that bad.

She folded her lips when they neared his car. Her hold on his hand tightened and Sanskar could feel how much she wanted him to not to go. Who else was there in her life other than him. Nobody.

He dragged his hand out of her hold and she let it go with difficulty and smiled at him forcefully while he sat in the car and looked at her. "Take care Lambu" she waved at him smiling. He nodded his head feeling emotional. When his car started to move Nitara ran behind it till the gate and stood looking at it while it disappeared. A tear dropped her eye which she held.

"God ji. Please take care of my Lambu" she looked up praying and walked inside the orphanage sad. She knew till she sees him back she will not be happy again.

Ragini was in her balcony early morning. She sipped the coffee while she was talking over the phone. "You promised to meet me today" she said furious. "I don't care what came up suddenly. I will be waiting for you at the place we decided to meet at the same time. If you will be late remember this will be the last time I will meet you" she disconnected the call and threw it on the swing.

"Ouch" Ragini heard Sheena's voice. "I mean you did not get any other place to sleep Sheen?" Ragini asked looking at Sheena who was lying on the swing with her closed eyes.

"I was happily sleeping till the great Riya's snoring did not start" she said adjusting the cushion below her. "Waw what a jodi. One doesn't get tire of eating and other of sleeping" Jiya walked to the balcony with tray having bowls of breakfast.

"Again you made oats Jiya. Not fair" Riya walked to them complaining. "Oh Maharani. I am not your mom. Don't show me all those tantrums" Jiya warned.

A cushion landed on Riya's face. "Shut your honking mouth will you? Don't let me sleep in the room and here also" Sheena complained.

"Sheena" Riya charged towards Sheena. "Okay then we will finish the breakfast. You continue your fight okay" Ragini sat on the chair and took the bowl. Riya stopped and turned to them.

"You don't like oats right" Jiya took the second bowl. "No no. Who said I don't like oats. I just said you made it again. Have I despised anything which is edible. Maa says we should not disrespect food" she sat in front of them licking her lips staring the bowls.

"Even if it is neem ka phal?" Ragini asked. "So what? Bitterness is also a taste okay. If it wasn't there you would never have known the importance of sweetness" Riya grabbed the bowl.

"OMG. Finally the doomsday is here" Sheena got up with a jerk and sat. Ragini and Jiya looked at her. "Riya maatha is talking sensible things" she said widening her eyes.

"Shut up Sheen" Ragini threw the cushion back at Sheena and Jiya spoke in chorus with her.

"Get freshened up now. You will be late to the college" said Jiya walking inside holding the tray of empty bowls. Riya had made the bowl upside down so that she can take the last piece of oat on the spoon. Jiya snatched and placed in the tray. Riya tried grabbing it but Jiya walked away. Ragini gave a back head slap to Riya who sat pouting.

"I'm still sleepy" Sheena complained. "What else you do in the class? Do it today also come" Ragini said dragging her. "Wo na. Sheena has got a crush on the new professor. So now a days she doesn't sleep in the class" Sheena smiled mischievously.

"Ri..." Sheena chased her. Ragini smiled nodding her head looking at them.

It was evening when the college was over. "Okay girls. I will meet you in the night okay. Have your dinner don't wait for me" she said waving at her friends outside the college.

"I should find a boy friend" Riya placed her finger on her chin. "Why have you even thought. The job which does not suit you?" Sheena teased Riya.

"And why have you thought that?"asked Jiya amused. "So that I can go on a date every evening with my boyfriend and will spared of your horrible cooking" Riya ran from there and Jiya chased her. "And drain your boy friends fortune and make him sit on the street begging?" Sheena asked and Riya hit her with her books while Jiya gave a high five to Sheena.

They moved from there towards their apartment.

Ragini looked at her watch again. "He takes my words so lightly always. Idiot. First thing I will do tomorrow is break up with him" she looked at her phone and started typing the message.

She was at the edge of the footpath. Her leg slipped and there was bus coming on her way. But she felt a pull. She was being dragged by a strong hold. She stumbled landing on her savior's chest.

Her face was covered with her hair strands.

"Are you blind? Who walks so near to the road? Surely you have forgotten your brain at home don't you?" she heard his voice and fumed. She moved her hair strands and glared at her survivor.

"Oh hello. Just because you saved me you don't get a license to talk non sense. I agree I did not see the path I was walking. You saved me thank you very much but dare you give me lecture" she warned him. She did not get any reply. She jerked her hand from his shoulder and walked from there adjusting her coat.

"I'm sorry Jaan. See I had something really important. Please na" Dev stood in front of her and she glared him. "See I am sorry. I will make sure I will not be this late and won't cancel my plans at least with you" he held his ears apologetically.

She rolled her eyes. She crossed her arms as she was not yet satisfied with his apologies. Dev looked behind her.

His eyes narrowed as the person's face was not visible in the dim light. As the head light of a vehicle on the road flashed on his face it was clear.

"Bhai" his eyes widened and he walked to him passing Ragini. Ragini looked at him confused and turned to find Dev hugging the same person who just saved her.

He was baffled. "OMG I'm such a jerk. I forgot your fight was scheduled early" he said coming out of the hug.

"Ragini" he called her and she walked to him. "This is my brother. Sanskar" he said and Ragini widened her eyes shocked.

I had to talk to him so rudely' she thought looking at him horrified. His expressions were different. He looked lost.

"No" he whispered. "Excuse me?" Ragini bent to him. "I'm so sorry I did not knew you are Dev's brother" she apologized.

Dil charkhe ki ek tu dori....

Sufi iska rang haye
Isme jo tera khwab piroya
Neend bani pathang
Dil bharta nahi ankhe rajti nahi
Chahe kitna bhi dekhti javu
Waqt jaaye mai roku na pavu

Tu thodi der aur tehra jaa ....

He looked at her horrified. His heart started beating fast. Ragini moved to Dev. "Why is he staring like that?" she whispered in his ear.

Dev glared her and then his eyes moved to his brother who was shocked. "Bhai" he shook him and Sanskar landed back in reality. A tear tripped his eye which he wiped immediately.
How can his destiny turned this way. He held his head and closed his eyes tightly. "I will be at your apartment" he walked from there walking from there along with his luggage.

"He did not tell me Hai also" Ragini pouted cutely. "Aww Jaan, He is tired. Next time he will tell you hai bye properly" Dev rubbed her shoulder.

I hope he will forget what I spoke' Ragini spoke in her mind worried. "What happened?" Dev asked. She pushed him a bit away.

"I'm not talking to you. Pakka wala break up this time" she fumed walking from there and Dev followed her in that dark street in the opposite direction Sanskar walked.
