"Pops I'm so glad you're ok." I said kissing his cheek they had just taken the tube out so it wasn't good for him to talk much but I just wanted to him feel all the love we had for him

"Don't scare us like that again." Uncle Jay said taking his hand. He smiled at us

"I have to tell you about the accident." He said

"Don't worry about it, we're looking for the guys you just focus on getting better," James told him I agreed btu I did want to ask him about him being Wakandan

"No, use your kimoyo beads and call the king, I have to tell him about the case."

"Dad what was in the case?"

"Call the king." He said and they looked at me the last thing I wanted was to call T'Challa after what just happened a few hours ago. I pressed on my bead and he answered instantly

"Is everything ok?" He asked

"Pops wants to talk to you, can you come over?"

"I'll be right there." He said then his face disappeared

We waited until T'Challa got there about 15 mins later

"Senator Rhodes I'm glad to see you awake." He said and pops nodded

"My king." He responded James and I looked at each other as Pops pulled down his bottom lip showing a holographic tattoo

"What the hell is that?" James as standing up and I looked at T'Challa

"It's the symbol of a Wakandan war-dog." T'Challa said

"What? Can we start at the beginning?" James said and I nodded

"I was born in the mining tribe of Wakanda when I became of ago, I joined the kings guard, and I became friends with your father and uncle N'Jobu. I moved to America as a war-dog after I married your mother, she wanted to train her powers at a school for the gifted upstate, so I followed her here. T'Chaka came to me after N'Jobu went missing and left the Totem of Wakanda with me for safe keeping."

"What's that?" I asked

"It was lost centuries ago, my father told me." T'Challa said and pops shook his head

"It is one of the most powerful artifacts, if properly wielded it will show one the way into Wakanda undetected."

"Where is it now?" T'Challa asked

"Gone, it was taken by a man named Klaue."

"Klaue?" We all said

"He's a popular guy."

"He attacked our country many years ago, stole a quarter ton of vibranium. My best friends' parents were killed in that attack."

"He also played a role in Sokovia, he sold some of the vibranium to Ultron to make that device." I added

"Are you sure it was him?" James asked

"It was him, but he was working with another man I've never seen before."

"What did he look like?"

"Black, dreads, tall I didn't get much before they were gone."

"No, no, no everything you given us will help. We know now Wakanda is his target." I said then I looked at T'Challa who was typing on his phone

"I hate to do this, but I need to get back home." T'Challa said and pops nodded

"You are welcome to come back home at any time." T'Challa said shaking his hand then he nodded at James then left the room without looking at me

"I'll be right back." I told them him followed him out of the room

'T'Challa." I called but he kept walking, I caught up to him and grabbed his arm

"What Ayesha?" He asked looking down at him I could see the hurt in his eyes

"I um I don't want us to leave it like this." I said and his phone rang then he looked at me

"I can't do this right now," He said repeating what I said earlier then he walked away. I watched him disappear around the corner, once he was out pf my sight, I felt an ache in my chest. I put my head down and walked back to pops room

I looked over the agreement, then I looked at my lawyer

"It's good." She told me and I nodded then I picked up the pen and signed the deal. I had a year to be apart of Everette Ross's task force to bring down Klaue. If we bring him in a year I will be pardoned if not I would be doing 10 years in the raft prison. Ross shook my hand

"We have a lead in Europe, we leave in three hours." He said and I nodded

"I will be ready; do I have to keep this on." I said nodding to the ankle monitor

"Until we leave yes." He said then I walked out and headed back to the hospital. It's been a week since pops woke up and ever the fighter, he was getting better every day. I walked in the room and saw that women and her two kids. Yeah that right TWO!

My brother showed up yesterday he goes to Stanford he honestly seems like the only one with a bit of sense.

"How did your meeting go?" Pops asked

"Fine we worked out some details, I'll tell you later." I said sitting next to him. I listened to them make small talk but since our last fight she has not brought up the retirement home. They didn't stay much longer of course but once they were gone, I looked at Pops

"So?"

"I have to leave for Europe tonight, but once we catch Klaue I'll be back to take care of you."

"I'm fine I've been thinking about some things since the accident."

"Like?"

"Retiring, selling the house unless you or James want it and move back home to Wakanda."

"That's not a bad place to retire."

"And the way I see it they may have a new queen soon."

"I'm no one's queen,"

"Oh sweetheart you have got to stop fighting yes falling in love can hurt if it the wrong person, but with the right person it can bring you the greatest joy you never could have imagined."

"But what if it's the wrong person?"

"You never know until you try." He said and I thought about what he said. I felt terrible everyday that went by and T'Challa and I have not spoken but I didn't know what to say I don't know what being in love was so how do I know if this is it?

"I'll be right back Pops." I said then kissed his cheek I walked into the empty bathroom then I pressed the beads to call T'Challa, but I couldn't help but feel a disappointed as Okoye's face appeared

"He forwarded all calls to me for the time being, like I'm a secretary." She said with a frown I laughed

"How is he?"

"He seems fine all he does is work."

"I have some information about Klaue."

"The murdering colonizer?"

"Yes, I'm on a team, we're tracking him, but I think Wakandan justice would be best in this situation."

"It would be there are a lot of people dying to get their hands on him."

"Let's keep this between you and me when I get a lead, I will pass it on."

"Will you get in trouble for this?"

"I made a deal to bring him in it didn't say whose custody I had to turn him over too. This is personal for me too,"

"I understand." She said

"Take care of him for me Okoye."
