My one desire
Krypto gave in a huge yawn before stretching his limbs, eyelids pursed as he shook any trace left of sleepiness. He blinked confusedly when he saw Kevin was still snoring away instead of getting ready for school. "It must be a Saturday!" the white Labrador Retriever said with sheer joy; tail wagging like a tornado (literally).
He was more than happy to spend quality time with his boy! They'll probably go to the park later, and he'll be able to chase all the squirrels he wants! Of course, without actually catching them. Those poor squirrels. Anyway, he was sure today would be a fantastic, wonderful day! He couldn't wait to go outside and sink his teeth in some Frisbees-
"Krypto."
He actually gasped when he heard a voice speaking just behind his back all of the sudden. Turning around, he sighed in relief, "Brainy... it's just you..."
"Oh? Did I scare you?" the violet Wizard Hound asked with a tilt of her puzzled head.
Krypto chuckled with an apologetic, charming smile. "No, no, of course not. Totally didn't take me by surprise," he joked, walking towards her all friendly as usual. "Don't mind me asking but... what are you doing here?"
"Huh... well..." the girl struggled to state her reasons, avoiding his warm gaze at all costs.
"Does the patrol need me?" he asked, immediately becoming alert of any danger.
"U-um... no," she finally managed to say. "Actually... the one who needs you..."
Krypto raised one of his floppy ears, waiting for the last words.
"... Is me."
"W-wait... what?!" Well, that sounded weird! Krypto thought inside his mind as he shouted out the previous sentence with eyes as wide as plates.
"W-what I mean-" Brainy stammered, becoming all nervous again. "Is that I need you to show me around the city!" she basically screamed out with a bright red blush, wanting to get herself out of the situation as soon as possible.
"O-oh... that..." He sighed in relief once again, his heart starting to beat after being paralyzed for a second. "Sure, Brains! Why not?!" he told her enthusiastically. "We can even go with Kiara, Kevin and Streaky if you wan-"
"No!" Brainy realized too late she had accidentally yelled at Krypto again. "S-sorry! I mean," she interrupted herself with a cough, "It's something personal, you know? Just... you and me."
"Oh... okay." She noticed that despite how much Krypto tried to hide his slight disappointment, his tail dropped a bit and stopped wagging, and his ears lowered as he looked away with an embarrassed smile.
"Anyway! I'm ready whenever you are. I'll wait downstairs for you. Bye!" She immediately rushed out of the window, jumping on her salmon pink pillow and the garden in front of the house.
Krypto saw her go, bemused over whatever the heck was going on. "Huh. That happened."
.
.
.
Krypto was ready in a literal blink of an eye (thanks to his Superspeed, maybe) and he ran to the porch with that happy, goofy grin on his face Brainy loved so much. "Hey, Brains! You ready?"
"Y-yeah," she responded, trying to smile back. "Let's go."
"Sure!" he chirped before making sure nobody was around, which he verified. Within less than two seconds, the white dog turned into a tornado of sparkles and wind. When he finished his transformation, he puffed out his chest and let his bright red cape float in the breeze while his 'S' badge reflected the sunlight.
He looked so majestic. Brainy stared at him in awe, unable to stop her eyes from shimmering.
Krypto didn't notice this, but he gave her a quick nod and nosedived into the air.
Brainy was still much to impressed and lovestruck to do anything else other than stare silently; but finally, she recovered her senses and flew off as well.
---
They two soared over Metropolis' beautiful sights for a while until they finally reached the extremely wide, colorful mass of grass and people.
"Here we are!" Krypto exclaimed joyously, deciding to land behind one of the many oak trees so he could transform back to normal.
Brainy looked at everything around her with wide, curious eyes; her mouth was slightly agape as she stared and inspected all the strange human customs. Earth was so very interesting to her.
"You okay, Brains?" Krypto asked with concern, standing in front of her. "You kind of zoned out there."
"Y-yeah... I'm fine," she replied, giving him a small, sincere smile. "It's just... I'm very excited to be here."
Krypto laughed; the curl on his head bounced, and it just added to his cuteness. "That's great! 'Cause I'm excited to show you around!" he told her, immediately running off and motioning her to follow him.
"Where are we going?" Brainy questioned, panting from all the running after a while.
"Wherever fun is!" Krypto exclaimed, jumping into the sky for a moment.
"Be careful!" Brainy warned him worryingly. "Remember they don't know your identity!"
"Oh, right!" Krypto admitted, letting himself reach the ground again, but afterwards he grinned to her again. "But don't be a worrywart, Brainy! Everything will be fine!" he assured her before speeding up.
He leapt again and managed to catch a green Frisbee someone threw high above them, impressing the person and all the dogs around.
"Wow!" the lavender alien breathed with surprise, stopping on her tracks as her crush approached her.
"Here, Brains! Catch!" Krypto shouted at her, launching the thin, green object from his mouth.
Confused on how to achieve the task, the poor dog fell on her tail as the disk hit her square in the face.
"Brainy!" Krypto immediately yelled, anxious because of what happened to his friend, as he ran towards her aid.
Thankfully she got up, though she seemed really dizzy. She quickly shook her head to get rid of the blurriness in her eyes and looked at Krypto with an unamused expression.
"Oops," Krypto muttered with a sheepish, apologetic grin. "My bad."
Brainy sighed; sometimes she wondered why she even liked this goof. Shoving away the unwarranted thought with a frown, she got up and stepped away with her nose tilted upwards.
"Come on, Brains!" Krypto whined at her ignoring him. "I didn't mean it!" He chased after her with a hurt expression.
She playfully opened one of her eyes and shoot him a glare, but her growing smile betrayed her. "Alright, I'll forgive you..."
"Yay-"
"But only if you teach me how to catch that mini UFO."
"Ah, ok-" Krypto's golden eyes suddenly widened. "Wait, did you call it an UFO?!"
"Yeah... the little green spaceship?" Brainy questioned, unknowing that the thing was actually called a Frisbee.
Krypto could hold his laugh in any longer, and it exploded in Brainy's face, much to her dismay. "Oh, my God...! An UFO!" He covered his mouth his paw as tears of laughter escaped his eyes.
Before Brainy could speak another word in protest, the two heard a salesman chanting out words that caught their attention.
"Hot Dogs! Come get your Hot Dogs!"
Brainy raised an eyebrow with confusion. "Hot Dog came to Earth, too? What is he doing here?"
"No, no, no, no," Krypto corrected her. "He's talking about food."
"Wait. Hot Dog's food?! They're eating Hot Dog!" Brainy exclaimed, utterly horrified at the thought of the humans eating her red alien teammate!
She rushed to go and save him but Krypto got in between, he tried to stop her but she slipped under him and ran anyways. "W-wait! Brains!"
Brainy leapt into the air, and was about to attack the man with her psychic powers when he went ahead of her and threw her a Hot Dog to attempt to pacify her. Without even trying, she caught it with her mouth and fell to the floor.
"Brainy! I was gonna tell you that Hot Dogs are human food, not actual dogs!" Krypto chided the girl, finally reaching her.
Brainy chewed the tasty food and swallowed with a big grin. "It's great!"
Krypto grinned as well. "It is!" His grin became even wider when the Hot Dog vendor shrugged and threw him some food, too, which he caught at the speed of light.
The two glanced at each other with their mouths full and tails wagging and began to laugh.

Meanwhile on the other side of the park, a certain dark hound was walking around while patrolling and making sure everyone was behaving. Bat-Hound sighed as he stared at the wide lengths of acres surrounding him.
Once in a while, even "night-time" heroes like him did daylight work. Especially since he hadn't seen Krypto around anywhere in the city that day. "So irresponsible to ditch duty like that..." he murmured, frowning at the white dog's carefree personality.
A small child came up to him and petted his head with an awestruck smile. Ace's tail wagged a little, something extremely rare, and the child squealed in delight before walking away.
The grey dog smiled a bit. Well, this wasn't so bad, after all.
---
Krypto pushed the canoe a bit so it could separate from the bridge and move over the water. He jumped into the the wooden boat and the lake took him and Brainy onward without having to do anything.
The two chuckled once again. This had been a fun day for both.
But for Brainy it was more than that. A life changing moment, perhaps? A choice that could change wherever her life goes now...
All she had to do, was confess.
---
Bat-Hound was satisfied: he had returned a soccer ball to some kids playing, and scared off a creep who tried to kidnap them, and avoided the robbery of a purse by attacking the guy before he could even grab it.
Oh, he also gave a tourist directions.
A completely normal and peaceful day for someone from Gotham.
As he was about to leave though, deciding he had done enough favors for Krypto, something in the corner of his eye caught his attention.
Next to him there was a long river as a natural part of the park, and inside it there were two dogs riding on a boat.
"Whitney...." he muttered, blank eyes narrowing slightly. "... And Barker?!" Now they widened with shock.
Without even a second to calculate what was happening, Brainy leaned in towards Krypto, getting dangerously close. And then she had this strange look on her face before he saw her taking in a deep breath and letting her nose touch Krypto's...
Then a freaking tree got in the way and he couldn't see the rest until they passed by it... when they were cuddling and nuzzling each other with the biggest smiles he had ever seen on them both (especially Brainy).
All Ace could do was watch them, astonished, and adding up to the pure shock, heart-broken.
