Michael's POV:

I was having an argument with my sister, Rachel, about whether high school or middle school was worse, and I was losing terribly. I guess that's what happens when your sister is the debate team captain for Middle Borough High School. I gave in, and we started watching the news. Rachel somehow hates video games, especially retro ones, which pissed me off to no end.

"It appears that a Connor Murphy has commuted suicide, and family members and friends have been giving speeches about depression. Now lets go over to Al with a short interview with the cofounders of the Connor Project." We listened closely as Savannah explained what happened.

"Thank you, Savannah. Our first founder is Jared Kleinman, who appears to be eating a... bathbomb? Could you tell us about that?" Al asked.

"Oh, I lov the cRoNcH."

"The cronch?"

"The cRoNch."

"Anything else?"

"Yes! A few actually! Ok so first, HI MOM AND DAD! IS THIS ENOUGH FOR CAR INSURANCE?! LOVE YA! Second, IM GAYY!1!"

"Ok then, next we have Alana Beck."

We stopped listening, because mom came home with--

"SLUSHIES! PRAISE JESUS! HALLELUJAH!"

She even got my "special blend". It consists of all of the flavors, so that it matches my sexuali-- I MEAN IM NOT GAY! NOPE! NO WAY! STRAIGHT AS A PENCIL! I was snapped out of my thoughts as mom kept saying my name, and Rachel just pinched me.

"As I was saying, a new kid is going to be joining you at Schuyler Middle. They say his name is Jeremy, and they want you to show him around. Him and his older brother have moved around a lot, so he's developed some anxiety. Oh, and Rachel, his older brother Jason is going to your school, so you need to show him around."

"What?! Why me?!" Rachel and I said in sync.

"Mom! Do you not realize that we are the most antisocial people ever?!"

"Relax, these two might give you a run for your money"

"Will you tell us about them?" I asked her.

"Ok, so Jeremy is adopted, and they found Jason of the streets and took them in. Their parents are queers! Two dads! Their names, not that it matters, are Alex and John. They know the principal of Schuyler Middle, so they got in. I mean Angelica would let anyone in! Anyways, they're from Ohio. Jason had some... problems at Westerburg, so they moved here." Mom explained their whole past, and I was ecstatic to learn that Jeremy loved retro games, and Jason loved slushies.

Maybe this year isn't gonna suck.

Jeremy's POV

This year is gonna suck.

I'm switching schools, because my brother blew up his. Great. I decided to play Apocalypse of the Damned, but it wasn't the same without my player one. I really missed Connor, but I was able to suck it up and watch Stranger Things on Netflix. I mean, what else would I do? Porn? Hell no. I overheard Jason doing the diddly do with that Veronica chick, and am officially asexual. Alex told me that I would be shown around by some kid named Michael Mell. I was also told that this kid liked Apocalypse of the Damned, and had even gotten past level 9! Damn, this kid.

Maybe I was wrong. Maybe this year isn't gonna suck.
