Chapter 24: The Blood's On Your Hands

~Narrator POV~

You wiped the last of your tears and stood from the roof of the train. Taking a final deep breath, you looked up into the sky. You had made your final decision.

But is it really the decision you wanted to make?

You personally had no idea. It isn't what you wanted, no doubt. But it's what you had to do in order to keep Fiore in a state of peace. Granted, you had no idea if Daylin would keep his promise to leave Fiore alone if you went with him, but... if he did...

You had to risk your life to save Fiore.
To save Fairy Tail.

You nodded to yourself and headed down the staircase and back into the train car. You checked in one of the nearby mirrors to make sure your eyes weren't red or puffy from crying. Luckily they weren't, and you looked just the same as when you'd left.

You smiled lightly and entered the car where the other Fairy Tail girls were sitting. You took your final relieving breath and stepped forwards. Once you were standing in between the two booths they were sitting in, you waved with a smile before sitting down next to Lucy.

"Hey guys." You stated simply, not really expecting a response.

Although, Lucy did seem to notice your presence. "Oh (Y/n), you're back. We didn't see you leave, we just noticed you were gone. Are you okay?" She asked.

You perked up and looked to the concerned blonde. "What? Oh, haha, yeah. I'm alright. Just went to the bathroom." You laughed.

"Alright. Well, tell me if something's wrong, alright?" She questioned, still looking at you with a look of skepticism.

You laughed again, giving your most convincing smile. "Will do, Lucy. Will do."

She gave a small smile and turned back towards the others. Though you wanted to not get caught up in the drama, Erza ended up head-locking you and ruffling your hair. The most awkward part was, you had no idea why?

Struggling against her monstrous grip was futile, so you just sighed and gave in.  No use in trying to escape, so you just joined in on the laughing and insanity. But it only left the one depressing though stained inside your mind:

I'm gonna miss all this when I leave...

~~~~~~•••••••~~~~~~
The ride was over and everyone exited off the train. The surprising thing was is that you were so caught up in your squabble, that your motion sickness didn't even phase you. What a miracle.
All of you got to a certain point in town before splitting off and heading towards your houses. You walked with Lucy, Zuki, and (E/n)  towards your apartment complex. Still being lost in all your thoughts, you didn't hear a single word that the three were saying.
"....n)? (Y/....? .....(Y/n)!!" Lucy shouted, arms flailing.
You instantly perked up, surprise in your eyes. "Oh! Sorry. What were you saying?" You asked, trying to blow it over as if nothing had happened.
"Okay, now I know something's up. Tell me what's wrong." She persisted, hands moving down to her hips.
You sighed and began walking again. "It's nothing, Lucy. Don't worry about it." You say with a shrug.
"No! I'm not gonna just stand here and let my friend act all depressed! Please, tell me what's bothering you!" She pressed on, it was starting to irritate you.
"Yes Lucy, you are. Just drop the subject and it'll all be fine." You say darkly, glare growing with a small scowl.
Zuki watched timidly as the two of you argued. (E/n), also choosing not to get involved, sat on Zuki's head. (E/n) could tell easily... your Magic was beginning to corrupt again.
"(Y/n)! You matter to me as my friend, tell me what's wrong! I want to help you!" She shouted.
You've reached your limit. You couldn't control it anymore. "I said drop it, Lucy!!" You screamed, swiping your arm in a diagonal shape, causing a dark aura'd slash-like attack to emit from your hand.
Everyone gasped in shock as Lucy dropped to the ground, blood covering her body and dripping from her mouth. You covered your mouth and gave a look of horror at what you had done. The rain then began to pour, soaking everything and everyone around you.
"L.... Lucy!!" You screeched, dropping down next to the blonde, checking her pulse.
Luckily her heart was still beating, as she gave you a weak and shaky smile. "Y... You could have j... just told me you...r Magic was..." she paused to cough up more blood. "....becoming corrupted a.....again..."
"Lucy! Oh my God I am so sorry! I'm so sorry! Where... I need to... Fairy Tail! I need to get you to the Guild! The infirmary!" You sputtered, mind moving at a million miles an hour.
(E/n) took this as her cue. "I'll go ahead and tell the Guild to get a bed ready!" She informed, dashing off through the rainy sky towards the Guild Hall.
"Lucy I promise I'll help you! Just hold on, please! You can't die!" You cried, picking up your friend's frail body as she went limp and placed her onto your back. "Come on, Zuki! Let's go! Hurry!" You directed.
"R-Right!" She nodded.
The both of you began running towards Fairy Tail in the pouring rain. You almost couldn't see a few feet in front of you because the rain was so thick. You almost lost your balance a few times due to the slippery stones under your feet and Lucy slung onto your back. But you kept running.
This was all your fault. If you just told her the truth, she never would have gotten hurt. You never would have attacked her. You all could have just gone home and avoided being stuck inside this storm. Now you knew what you had to do for the safety of the Guild members...
As tears slipped down your cheeks, you kept your jogging pace through the pelting rain. You occasionally had to check if Zuki was still behind you. Luckily every time you looked, she was hot on your trail.
'Lucy, I'm so sorry...'
Hey y'all! It's been a while, huh? Sorry about that. I was on a road trip with my family for a while, so I only got now on our way back home to write. So, there's your next chapter.
