Chapter 103: Haters (TW)

TW: violence

"Leave me alone, LEAVE ME ALONE!!" Taehyung thundered urgently, no longer taking any precautions to try to snatch the girl who was clinging to him with all her might and preventing him from rushing to Jin's rescue.

"Taehyung! Go get Seokjin quickly, I'll take care of her," Han said, as he suddenly popped up and grabbed the girl by the scruff of the neck, making sure to get her to let go of Taehyung's neck.

The girl screamed and squealed as she felt herself torn from Taehyung and lifted off the ground.

The manager seemed in bad shape and limped so badly that he probably couldn't run to Jin himself or at least accompany him. But Taehyung couldn't afford to take care of him now, even when he saw the girl biting his hand in an attempt to escape him, because time was running out.

"Thanks," he just said quickly, before thoughtlessly rushed after Jin, not giving a single last look to the girl who kept screaming her love for him.

"Nooooooo, Tae oppa, stay with me, I love you!!!!" The girl cried with heartbreak, seeing the one she loved move away from her to join the one she hated. "I love you so much!!! Let me go," she added angrily to Han, "I want to stay with Tae oppa!!"

She began to claw as best she could on Han's face to free herself from his grip which was lifting her off the ground but couldn't. The man held her with his iron fist and did not intend to let go.

"It was you who stabbed Seokjin and Jungkook," the man pointed out without even bothering to ask the question.

Against him, the frenzied girl froze and began to sob.

"It-it... it wasn't my fault, Kookie oppa threw himself to protect Jin oppa, I didn't see him coming, I never wanted to hurt him!"

"It doesn't make you any less guilty for wanting to kill Seokjin," Han retorted with harshness.

"You don't understand anything, he deserved it!" The girl screamed, starting to wiggle harder to get out of the man's grasp. "He purposely interferes between Jungkookie oppa and Taehyung oppa, it's obvious! One day he is on one arm and the next day on the other, everyone noticed and it's unacceptable!"

     Han frowned at that statement.

"Your perception of what is going on between them is one thing because you have the right to imagine what you want, even if it's absurd. But dreaming until wanting to kill someone for such a futile reason is another totally separate one that is going way too far and which comes out of what you have the right to do. I therefore advise you to think seriously about your actions 'cause I don't think you realize yet what you've done what you're up against. But let me tell you something: you're very lucky that neither Seokjin nor Jungkook succumbed to your stab wounds."

"Lucky?!" the girl repeated, incredulous. "You don't understand anything at all!! I missed my chance when I failed what everyone expected me to, removing the obstacle that was hindering Kookie and Taehyung oppa : Jin oppa should never have woken up, I'm so unlucky! You can't imagine how disappointed people will be that I failed again today. But it doesn't matter, other than me are taking care of it."

Her face showed the mad fury that had taken hold of her and Han, bewildered by her words, understood that she was totally in the grip of her excessive love for Jungkook and Taehyung. It was a disease that touched the hearts of far too many young idol fans. Wanting too much to make the fans dream, some had ended up confusing the dream and the real, fiction and reality and some fans had become even more dangerous than kpop haters.

Moreover, the manager understood that the company had been wrong to not listen to the boys and underestimate these threats on the vlive because it was to forget the reality of the darkest threats of kpop. And given the increasingly extreme enthusiasm for kpop, this phenomenon seemed destined to worsen rather than reverse if nothing was done to change things.

He put the girl back on the ground while holding her firmly by the arm and exhaled:

"Listen to me young lady: it's you who didn't understand anything."

The man's aura was so menacing that the girl, suddenly nervous, stopped moving and paid him full attention.

"First, no one expected you to do what you did, you did it for yourself. Didn't you hear that your head had been put on a price by Army? They want to find you to do the same thing you did to Seokjin and Jungkook..."

"But on my social networks I am supported by..."

"A minority of people," Han cut her. "The majority hate you for what you did. You're in danger now that you showed your face popping up here. As for the members, do you sincerely thought they wanted that you kill one of them ? Did you thought they will love you more ? They have all the right to hate you now!"

Remembering Jungkook's look of hatred at the Stade de France and Taehyung's just now, the girl shuddered in horror. She understood that the man wasn't lying : wanting to obtain the love of her idols, she had attracted both their attention and their hatred. She grabbed her hair and started screaming in pain while the manager continued under her screams :

"Secondly, I will repeat myself but you are very lucky that Seokjin and Jungkook are still alive after what you did to them. Their lives was in real danger but they were strong enough to survive."

The girl fell silent and became attentive again. She seemed gradually relieved to understand that her fault was lessened but Han wanted to make her understand the seriousness of the situation because she seemed completely lost.

"Despite that, you will still be arrested and you will be judged for what you have done because it is a terrible crime. You didn't realize that, right?"

The girl's eyes widened in surprise, as if she hadn't thought of it until Han told her. She parted her trembling lips as if to say something but the man didn't give her the chance and continued coldly:

"However, as neither of the two boys you stabbed died from your blows, that will work in your favor. Your prison sentence may be lighter."

"I... I... I'm going to jail?" she stammered before to try again to escape from Han, this time to flee far from here.

Indifferent to her distress because of what she had done to his boys, the manager, holding her without difficulty, replied:

"Yes. And that's probably the safest place you'll be for a while."

The girl, seeing that she could not escape, burst into heart-rending sobs, realizing what awaited her.

"No, no, I don't want to go to jail!! Please let me go! Let me go! let me go! Let me go!" She yelled, scratching and biting the arm we Han who however did not let go of her.

"You should have thought about the consequences of your actions earlier, it will be useless to cry now. In fact, even if it's not for me to judge you, I think you deserve to go to jail for the rest of your life. Think about what you did: you wanted to take someone's life - an innocent life - and you ended up putting thousands of people in mortal danger, this is madness! Seokjin didn't deserve to suffer what you did to him and the people who died in the panic movement at the Stade de France because of what you did didn't deserve that either."

"I'm s-sorry, p-please, please!!" she begged desperately, "I-I didn't think... I d-didn't realize how bad it was, I realize it now, I understand how wrong I did, I'm so sorry! I'm never gonna do it again, I promise, so let me go, I don't want to go to jail..."

Her young face streaming with tears and her deep distress did not crack Han's cold resolve to make her understand the gravity of her actions.

"It's is not to me that you will have to apologize but to those to whom you have hurt. And it won't be easy for them to forgive you. By the way, I told you earlier that you were lucky that Jungkook and Seokjin didn't die from your blows. However, if Seokjin or Taehyung dies today because of the knife you smuggled into the airport, things will immediately become more serious for you."

In a gasp of horror, the girl placed both hands over her mouth. Han concluded coldly:

"You just have to hope that Taehyung brings Seokjin back safe and sound. If they don't both come back alive I will do everything in my power to ensure that you finish the rest of your life behind bars. And given your age, it promises to be a very long life."

However, even if he had not told the girl, he had the feeling of being much more guilty than this kid. She was not entirely responsible for her actions because of her youth and her enlistment in a system that was clearly beyond her.

As for himself, he is one of the artisans who worked for the system at the origin of this madness. He had encouraged - no, forced - his boys to always go further to respect the fantasy of their fans. And they were the ones who had paid the high price. It was unfair. Soon, he should do what is necessary in turn to repair his wrongs and in turn pay the necessary price.

Taehyung took long to reach Jin. He easily followed with fear in his stomach the trail of blood left by his shoulder blade that had been dragged on the floor but he was then plunged into the chaos of a crowd running towards the exit and blocking his way to Jin. Despite, with his tall height, his eyes found him surrounded by at least half a dozen of people.

He realized very quickly that he was not dealing with Jin extreme fans, especially when he saw a young man with shaved head and a face half hidden by a mask giving him a violent kick in the stomach. The kick took Jin's breath away and cracked a barely healed rib, under the mocking gaze of several other boys also with a mask that covered half of their face to make them unrecognizable.

"Another rib for me!" The boy shouted triumphant before addressing one of his friends. "Your turn hyung!"

As the rest of the public present at the airport finally seemed to understand that the airport had to be evacuated and ran chaotically around this tight circle without realizing what was going on in the middle of this crush, the boys surrounded Jin in what looked like a little boxing ring where the spectators shouted and laughed with excitement and alternate in turn the beating sessions.

Two of them, the only two one who hadn't shaved hair and did not take part in the hunt, were even filming live social networks. While the shortest of the two seemed uninterested in what he was filming and looked away when Jin received the blows, as if unable to watch or more as if he had just been forced to be there, the tallest was from the start the more excited of the two, talking like a showman for other spectators at home or elsewhere while Jin was cruelly beaten. Each blow made him laugh badly, especially if they aimed at one of Jin's injured limbs and that he managed to make him push more than muffled cries or grunt.

"Now, scream like the girl you are!" the showman ordered Jin when he tried unsuccessfully to wake up, his good arm pressed against his side.

The young man had his cell phone pointed at Jin while to make him scream, another with shaved hair and a mask with the scary drawing of a shark mouth, kicked Jin in the left shoulder, just above his wound, squeezing a faint cry that made the audience chuckle.

"That's it, show that idols are just trained to be pretty like girls and obedient!" The shark guy laughed.

"Everyone knows you have no talent you were recruited for your face. Maybe we should disfigure it to prove that without it, you won't have a place in an idol group," a young man with a black cap above his shaved head said.

Jin looked up at them with a terrified face that made them laugh.

"Be careful, you scared him, ha ha!" The shark said.

"Poor thing. He's gonna cry, I can feel it," the showman noticed with an grin, pointing his phone and zooming excessively on Jin's face.

"Oh no, don't cry yet, not when we haven't really started the serious things!" The black cap said, patting exaggeratedly Jin's head.

"Aren't you gonna try to run away again?" a young man with a red coat said, with a cruel smile which dreadfully reminded Jin of Lee's and made him want to run away more than ever. But he couldn't.

He had obviously tried to flee by ramping up earlier but he was caught buy the red coat guy who pulled him back into the cercle by his broken ankle and was amused to hear him scream in pain before beating him badly. Now he dared not move a muscle as the young men all looked at him and laughed at his weakness, happily discussing the pain and the public humiliation they were going to inflict on him.

He had vague but terribly painful memories that sometimes flowed in like sharp stakes and made him bitterly regret that his heart was still beating when he was so simple that he just didn't wake up from his coma.

At least he wouldn't have had to go through that, another painful death experience that was much slower and humiliating than the first one. And in the solitude.

Taehyung wasn't within sight because he was already stopping the girl from jumping on him. Finally, wasn't it better to deal with her? Everything would have been faster...

But remembering the pain of the stabbing, he had a spasm and reminded himself that he never wanted to feel such pain again. No, he didn't want to deal with the sasaeng girl, or with that gang of bullies, or the excited crowd : he just wanted to be taken out of this hell and to be left alone far from this madness and this suffering.

He suddenly jumped up and became attentive again when he heard the showman said:

"What do you guys online think? Answer in the comments it's up to you to decide the next shot he will receive!" shouted the boy who was filming excitedly.

The comments were as excited as the words of the boys surrounding Jin and seemed to call for more violence even though some ARMYs started joining one of the streams that was public and tried to shout their outrage at what they were seeing.

Many started to share the live in order to let as many people as possible know what was happening around the city, the country and soon, the world and for some, contacting the authorities, for others, heading for the airport in order to save Jin.

Everyone suddenly became truly aware that the hate Jin was receiving – and behind him, the other idols – was real and extreme. Those people really hated him gratuitously, like the girl who had already wanted to kill him except that they wanted to make him suffer. Worse, they seemed to revel in his suffering.

Just like the fans who had joined the live, Taehyung, just arrived, was unable to watch this macabre scene any longer, as the Shark was about to kick Jin.

"STOP!" He yelled, breaking into this ring and roughly pushing one of the boys who dropped his phone and swore. "Stop this immediately!!"
