Thank you to Olivaughn, who was a massive inspiration and provided me with some insight while I wrote this story. This song is based on I Wish by Hayley Kiyoko, submitted for the LGBTQ+ Song Fiction Contest.

The song is about a girl (the singer; in this case Rhea) who wishes for clarity about a relationship she's in with a girl she loves (Dominic). The story takes a happy twist from the end, though, deviating from the song; Rhea does find love in Tammie, although it was less that she found love than she realised that it had been there all along. 

For all you curious, since I know it was kind of vague in the story, Tammie is indeed transgender. Trans rights, everybody. And why, yes, they do live happily ever after.
