Previously on Chapter 8

"We better get out of here now..." I said, looking over the edge. I turn to look at Mirabel to see her nodding her head in agreement. We quickly move across the bridge and out of the Bruno's room. Man... that was scary.

-We're In Deep Trouble-

Y/N P.O.V

Mirabel and I quickly leave Bruno's room. Mirabel turns grabs my hand. I turn to look at her. "What?" I said. She grab the my sketchbook and pencil. I look at her in confusion.

She starts scribbling something and hands it to me. I furrow my eyebrow at her. She just gesture towards the book. .I turn my head to look at the book, to see she have written something.

Sorry I had to write it down. My cousin Dolores can hear anything from far away. So... I'm doing this to make sure she can't hear me. We've to go separate ways. So no one knows you're with me. I don't want to get you into trouble, Y/N. Thank you for coming with me.

I turn to look at her with a worried expression. She just give me a small smile. She pat my shoulder and walks away. I let out a sigh and turn around. It has been a while since I visited the lake. I need some me time. But first, I gotta make sure to help the people in town. I make my way out of the Casita.

As I help the people in town, I hear someone calling for me. I turn my head to see Camilo. He kinda look restless. He runs towards me and stops. He hunched forward, placing both of his hands on his knees as he breathe heavily.

He finally regain his breathing. "Are you okay?" I said. He looks up at me and pulls me into a tight hug. I froze at his sudden moves.

"Um... Camilo. What's going on?" I said. "I have been looking all over for you" he murmured. "Why?" I said. He pulls away from the hug and looks at me. He rubs his neck.

"Well... you've been saying things about wanting to leave Encanto. When I can't find you anywhere. I thought you actually leave..." he said. "Oh... sorry about that..." I said. He shakes his head and smiles at me. "At least you're still here..." he said. I just smile at him.

Camilo accompanies me around the town. He watch in silence as I fulfill the people's requests. Right now I'm drawing a chicken den for a farm. I slowly move my hand across the drawing.

I turn to look at the man to see him pointing at a certain spot. I turn to the spot and outstretch my hand. I open my hand with my palm facing forward. A den slowly starts to form.

"Thank you!!" The man said. I smile at him. "It's my pleasure" I said. I turn to Camilo to see him looking at me in awe. I slowly walk towards him. "Why are you looking at me like that, Camilo?" I asked. "Huh? What?" He said, seemingly snapping out of his daze.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked once again. "Uhhh..." he stammered. I can see his cheeks slowly turning red. I let out a chuckle at his reaction.

Camilo P.O.V

I don't know why I feel so scared that Y/N would actually leave this town. Ever since I met her that day at the lake. Something about her just intrigues me.

Her h/c that looks so soft. Those e/c eyes are just so beautiful. When I saw tears falling from those eyes the day I found out about her secret, I feel the need to hold her. So I did... and I feel... good. She's small in my arms. Even so... it felt so right.

Am I falling for her?

Y/N P.O.V

I head back to the room I've been staying since I first got here. Pepa is in the room with Mirabel, who look nervous as if she's just been caught. This makes me worried. What if Pepa finds out that we break in Bruno's room and found the vision. How will they react when they find out the family knows that she is involved in the vision.

"Oh hello, Y/N..." Pepa said. I can see the cloud on top of her head. "Oh... hi" I said. She looks up and sighs. "Shoo shoo shoo! I just wanted to get the last of Tonito's stuff..." She said, trying to shoo away the cloud. The cloud appears again.

"Great now I'm thundering. And a thunder will lead to sprinkle. And a sprinkle will lead to drizzle!" She said, as she keeps talking the cloud gets worse. She takes a deep breath. "Clear skies, clear skies..." she said.

"Uh... Tia Pepa... if Bruno..." Mirabel starts. I quickly nudge her. Pepa turns to look at us as another cloud slowly appear on top of her head. She give me a look. She turns to Pepa.

"If HE had a vision about someone... what would it mean for them?" She said. I let out a sigh. This isn't going to end well. "We don't talk about Bruno" Pepa said.

"I know, it's just, hypothetically, if he "saw" you..." Mirabel said. "Mirabel. Please, we need to get ready for the Guzsans" she said. "I just want to know if it was generally positive... or... like less positive or-" Mirabel tries to say.

"It was a nightmare!" Felix said. I jump in fright at his sudden appearance. "Felix!" Pepa said, looking angry. "Ey, she needs to know, Pepi. She needs to know" he tries to argue her. "We don't talk about Bruno!" Pepa said, shushing him. Felix ignores her and turns to Mirabel.

"He would see something terrible and then crack-ba-boom, it would happen" he said. "WE DON'T TALK ABOUT BRUNO!" Pepa said, sounding agitated. "What if you didn't understand what he saw?" Mirabel said. "Then you better figure it out, because it was coming for you!" Felix said, grabbing Mirabel by her shoulders.

They begin to sing. I just step aside as I watch them sing to Mirabel.

Camilo appears after Dolores sings. He starts to shift to a man I never see here. I'm guessing he's Bruno.

A seven-foot frame, rats along his back
When he calls your name, it all fades to black

I follow Mirabel to our shared room. She dunks all the emerald shards. She turns around and notice me.

"You shouldn't be here, Y/N. And I shouldn't have brought you along with me. You're going to be in trouble..." she said. "I just want to look out for you, Mirabel..." I said. She just smiles at me. She turns her attention to the shards and starts placing them together.

I gasp when she finally get it done. "I should have never brought up about Bruno" she said. As soon as she finish said that. The door burst open to reveal her dad.

"Miraboo! Get your party dress on, 'cause I do-" he stops mid-sentence. He gasp as he stares at the shards. The cabinet moves behind Mirabel to hide it. But he had already seen it.

"I... Y/N and I broke into Bruno's tower, I found his last vision, the family's in trouble, the magic is dying, the house is breaking, Luisa's gift is fading and I think it's all because of... me?" Mirabel rambled. He walks closer and stare at it. He turns to Mirabel.

"We say nothing, Abuela wants tonight to be perfect 'til the Guzmans leave, you did not break into Bruno's tower, the magic is not dying, the house is not breaking, Luisa's gift is not fading, no one will know, just act normal, no one has to know" he said, whispering the last part.

I hear a quiet squeak. I turn my head to look across from this room. Dolores is standing there. "I know..." she whispered. She lets out another squeak and walks away. I turn to look at Mirabel and her dad. "She's gonna tell everyone..." Mirabel said. Oh no...

We're in deep trouble
