We were lovers in a past life. Do you remember that?
(Author's Note: this starts in Last Life and is pretty much completely different than how it is in canon. Premises: Jimmy remembers everything over time, he doesn't just remember everything at the beginning.)

Jimmy's eyes looked over the strangers around him. This was his first experience adventuring in the world without his parents there to hold him back. He had always felt the curiosity of the new world flowing through his veins ever since he was growing up.
His eyes met with his best friend, Joel's eyes. He was also excited, being the one to bring up the adventure to Jimmy with a flier. He still remembers that day.
"Look!" Joel shoved the paper into his face, laughing as Jimmy attempted to push it away to read. He took a second, finally looking over the words and pictures covering the one-sided page.
"Another world we could travel to?" Jimmy asked, looking over at his friend.
"Yeah! An adventure! Just the two of us before our parents force us to do something with our lives." Joel nudged the paper closer.
"Fine but you are the ones convicing my parents!"
Jimmy shook his head out of his thoughts with a reminiscent smile. Of course that plan had gone downhill immediately. Both of their parents disagreed and claimed they were too young (Jimmy thinks they were fair, they were only sixteen when they made the plan) so that world went by and they forgot about it. Until this one was created.
Jimmy looked over to the leader, Grian, standing front and center, explaining all the rules. His face was scarred and his eyes were grey but that smile never left his face. He was the owner of the previous adventure that Joel had found out about. He had won the past tournament and from Jimmy's knowledge, nobody playing in this one had played in one of his before. His tone as he explained was serious yet kind but his eyes told a different story. A story of chaos, and misery. Jimmy didn't know what it was from, this was a harmless tournament after all.
Something caught his eye.
Jimmy looked over and saw another man with blue hair cut to a decent length. His sapphire eyes glittered in the bright sunshine, complimenting his hair perfectly. His skin was a light color and there was no imperfection to be found. The way his face was curved, how his cheeks and bridge of his nose were a rosy red. Everything about him was angelic. No, it was god-like.
Jimmy can't help but feel like he knows this man. He looked so familiar that it was almost painful. He tried to pull back every memory he has ever had, trying to think of this man and how he would have met him. A stranger walking across from him down the boulevard of tiny shops and restaurants? A cashier ringing up his snacks he would buy before heading home everyday? A customer at the cafe he worked at who probably order the same thing every time?
No, this man was different.
It feels like Jimmy and this man had started the world, ancient beings with a past so long ago that not even the grass or clouds remembered. Like he shared his life with this man at one point, holding his hand, sitting under the shade of a large oak tree, even giggling as they watched the world spin by. It feels like he had been the happiest he had ever been with this man and the saddest he ever will be. He lived with him, growing grey hair and getting wrinkly skin. Being taken too soon other times.
It hurt to look at him.
The man looked over, catching his eyes for a millisecond before Jimmy looked away. He felt the embarrassment wash over him. He had been caught looking at a beautiful stranger when he was supposed to be listening to the orientation of how this world worked.
Before he knew it, everyone was walking away, even the man with his blue hair bouncing with each joyus step he took.

"Why don't you just be nice and give me an extra life? We just started and I think it would be really wholesome if you would do it." Jimmy pleaded, hands clasped together. Joel just laughed, shoving him away.
"Nah, I'm not that nice." His smile seemed to grow, an idea shining in his eyes. "Who was that guy you were staring at?"
Jimmy's face turned red. "Y-You saw that?" He squeaked out quietly.
"Yeah! You were practically drooling over him, you know." Joel slithered his arm around Jimmy, patting his head. The blond man sighed.
"I don't know who he is but I feel like I know him." Joel paused, moving his arm to just rest on Jimmy's shoulder. "I feel like I know everything about him yet this the first time I've ever met him." There was a silence that fell over them. Joel looked over at Jimmy.
"Wow," he started, the smile slightly gone from his face, "that was poetic but what the crap does that even mean?" Jimmy looked over, annoyance on his face.
"I was telling you that I feel like I have lived a past life with him! This all feels so familiar, like I have done this before but this is my first experience outside. I wish I could tell him." Joel smiled, ruffling Jimmy's blond hair up.
"Then just do it."
---
The first encounter that Jimmy had with the man next wasn't very good.
Admittedly, it wasn't his fault at all.
Having one scope less left a sour taste on his tongue but at least he met a few people. Scar was the one to claim he was the 'Boogeyman' and cheat him out of his scope. Pearl was there, watching the interaction. Then finally, the man, Scott, was watching with interest.
"I don't believe we have met before, what is your name?" Scott asked, holding a hand out to shake.
Jimmy tried to swallow the fleeting hope that he had. "My name is Jimmy. Nice to meet you." Grabbing his hand, they shook them in greeting. Even just the light touch of his palm against Jimmy's was so familiar.
Then, they moved on.
---
It was a second, maybe.
Scott handed Jimmy a flower as Pearl watched. She was smiling just as bright as the two of them. Scott called it a gift of partnership.
However, Jimmy thought of it as more.
The rose was just like the ones he felt like he had grown before in a garden maybe. He tended to them with care while Scott watched over, laughing at jokes and stories Jimmy told. It was so familiar.
"Like a gift from a past life." Jimmy whispered under his breath, taking it carefully into his slightly shaking hands.
"Yeah, sure." Scott looked at him weird, like he didn't understand.
Surely Scott felt what he felt, right?
---
Jimmy asked to meet with Scott alone.
It was 'friendly period' where nobody would kill each other or make huge advancements. It wouldn't be serious.
Jimmy had searched all over for this meadow. It had flowers galore and where he was seated was a picnic blanket and basket with food. Just a small lunch.
"Jimmy?" Scott walked into the clearing, looking around.
"Hey," he greeted, standing up and brushing dirt off his pants, "I thought it would be nice to get to know you." Scott came over and sat down hesitantly. His eyes looked around at the flowers, one of them sat on the blanket for him. 24 flowers that exactly fit Scott's head were weaved with precision. All were green and perfect.
Scott's hands slightly hovered over the crown.
"Do you want something?" Scott asked skeptically.
"What?" Jimmy asked, trying to search for what Scott was thinking in his pale yellow eyes.
"Is this a trap or some agreement?" Scott clarified, standing up straighter.
"Do you... feel some deja vu?" Jimmy decided to just go for it, letting out a sigh. "Like this happened before?"
Scott looked around again. "No, not really."
Jimmy ignored the stinging in his heart. "Well, to me, it feels like we have been together many times. Many lives to be exact." Scott's eyes narrowed but he didn't talk. "We were... lovers. We had a cove. With flowers like these spotted all around." He gestured to the meadow for example. "A pond was in the middle. It was beautiful. We were husbands. We were together and it was the happiest I had ever been. It was another death game like this one. Almost all the people were the same. I died first and then it all goes blank from there. Scott, I love you." Jimmy murmered the last part. He looked to see Scott's reaction.
"What? That is crazy talk!" Scott shouted at him. "I have never even seen you before today! Multiple lives things? That is just plain science fiction!" Jimmy flinched, looking away. "I don't know who you are-"
"Well, I know you!" Jimmy retaliated. "I know you dye your hair every Tuesday evening. I know you have rose tea every morning and afternoon. You have lavender scented soap and you love to read under trees. You don't know how to dance properly but that never stopped you. I know how you-"
"Stop!" Jimmy paused. "Y-You are a psycho, how the heck do you know that about me!" Scott's face was red and he looked scared. "Get away from me, never talk to me again." Scott was about to walk away when Jimmy pulled up his own comm. He was going to give him this gift anyways.
"Wait just a moment." Jimmy said, trying to ignore the stinging pain in his eyes. "I have a gift in return for the rose you gave me." Scott turned, watching with his hand hovering over his sword strapped on his hip.
Solidarity gave one life to Smajor
Jimmy looked up from his comm to Scott who stood there in shock. His eyes started to turn green and the yellow flower crown on his head wilted. Jimmy bent down and grabbed the green flower crown, giving it to Scott who just stared at it.
Before he could get a response, Jimmy walked away.
---
News spread about the whole ordeal.
Jimmy was now considered a stalker. It scared people. They turned and stopped their conversations when he walked close. Green and yellow lives cowered in fear when he was around. Joel was the only one to visit.
"Jimmy, please just think everything through." Joel pleaded. "That was really stupid of you and it sounds creepy hearing it from everyone else. How do you know everything about him?"
"Like I said, we knew each other in another life. We were husbands. I made his rose tea, I dyed his hair, we danced until the sun went down. We were together. I just wanted to be together." Jimmy shivered as the wind blew through the cave. He didn't bother making an official house. It was useless when he had no allies or friends. That is dangerous on a server like this.
The roulette of the Boogeyman echoed in the cavern. Joel and Jimmy looking at their comms. The dead beep of a failed attempt to get the role and the triumphant ring of the confirmation. Jimmy looked at the red on his comm to see the green light up Joel's face. He looked terrified.
"Jimmy?" He asked, voice filled with fear.
"You can kill me, you know." Jimmy slumped against the cave wall. He was tired.
"I can't just do that! I can find someone else or something!" Joel begged, putting the comm away.
"But if you don't, you will only have one life left." Jimmy responded. "It would be better for the two of us anyways."
"No, Jimmy, you are my friend." Joel had tears rolling down his face, trying to put all his emotion into his voice." I can't do that to you. We are best friends, there is no getting around it-"
"It's best for us." Jimmy said again. "I don't have anything here. No allies, no chance, not even a house!" He cackled with dark laughter. "Even if I did make it out of here alive, I would be labeled as a stalker. This is the best opportunity you would even get. Just do it." Jimmy put his own sword into Joel's hand, putting it at his stomach.
"Jimmy-"
"No hesitation." Jimmy closed his eyes.
And felt the pain enter his abdomen.
---
An eternal reunion of lovers that had lived centuries in love passed. The glitch that caused Jimmy to remember ended it. They will no longer fall in love with each other when they die.
When they died, so did their eternal love for each other.
