Meeting Halloween
Idk what this is but I have been listening to the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack and got an idea. Happy October!!!
"One day, a widower and his daughter went for a walk in the moonlight. They walked into the woods and to a nearby creek and sat down. "I'm gunna go pick flowers, ok daddy?"
Her smile was wide and she pointed to a clearing with bushels of wild flowers.
"Ok sweety. Just be careful!"
She nodded and ran off towards the clearing. As she was smelling the flowers, she saw an owl. She moved closer and closer until accidentally spooking it away. "Come back!" she shouted as she followed the flying owl. She ran and ran until her feet fell from underneath her and she felt her stomach drop. "Help! Daddy!" she screamed as she plummeted down the chasm.
Her whole body started aching before going numb. She saw the owl again. It was a fuzzy white everywhere. Like an infinite room. The owl flew farther and farther. She chased it for what felt like hours before seeing a golden staircase and a man in a silk robe. He had a beard and was very tall.
The owl had disappeared. She looked aimlessly for it, with no luck.
"Hello little girl." The man said.
"Hi sir. I'm looking for an owl." her eyebrows furrowed as she continued to look.
"Come with me ok?" He had a warm smile.
"Were am I?" she asked, still looking.
"Your at the border. Where you get to choose where you go for the rest of eternity."
"Eternity is a long time." She said, not stopping.
"Yes it is young girl. That's why you need to come with me, so you don't end up with-" his voice trembled. "Them." he pointed to a dark misty void. And there sitting on a crooked tree, there was the little brown owl. She smiled with determination in her bright green eyes. She ran past the man as far as her little legs could, only hearing a "wait!" from the man. She ran to the tree and the owl came fluttering down towards her. It passed into her and she became it, before becoming herself again. The darkness had overcome her, with no trace of white around. There was only the crooked tree, and a stone path, twisting and turning into darkness.
She started hesitantly following the path, occasionally being spooked by shadows in the darkness. After what felt like an eternity, she saw a small fountain in the middle of a town square. The town was dimly lit, and had dirt and grime all over it. "Hello?" She turned around, looking at the town. "Is anybody here?" Her voice trembled. A tall woman with red hair and blue-green skin hobbled towards the girl. "Hello? Are you lost little one?" Her voice was sweet and had a high pitched tone. "Yea. I don't know where I am." She sniffled and you could see a few tears escaping her eyes and running down her cheeks. "Your in Halloween sweetie." They both sat down on the fountain edge.
"Halloween? Like the holiday?" She made a funny confused face which made the woman giggle.
"Yes. Like the holiday. What's you name?"
"Mary."
"Well Mary, you are going to be here for a long time. Can I take you to my house?"
The little girl nodded and took the woman's hand.
"I'm Sally by the way. Sally Skellington."
They walked to a tower structure. It looked as though it was about to fall over but in the window you could see a tall, lean, figure with skinny little figures running around.
"Those are my children. And the tall one is my husband Jack. We also have a dog, zero"
(AN: Imagine there wedding. Leave ideas in the comments! Let's build this thing.)
They walked up a long flight if stairs upward until thy got to a big black iron door. They went inside to see a big room with Jack and the kids wrestling and having fun, Jack chasing them around, and zero barking loudly. Sally laughed and yelled, "Boys!"
They all froze before engulfing her in a big hug. "Momma!"
Mary took a look at the boys and Jack. They were white with black and white stripped clothing. Then she tilted her head and yelled. "You guys are just bone!"
Jack smiled.
"Yes little one we are. Seems your the only one with skin here." Jacks voice was caring and held just the slightest bit of sarcasm. Everyone including Mary laughed. "What's it like to have skin?" one of the boys asked. "Yea!" another shouted. The boys crowded her asking tons of questions and having fun with her. After a few minutes of getting to know everyone, all the kids noticed that Sally and Jack were whispering to each other.
"What are you guys talking about?"
They nodded And parted. "Well, since you'll be here for a long time, Mary would you stay with us? We could be your family." Mary looked around at everyone and smiled, hugging Jack and Sally. The boys joined in.
"We have a sister!" they cheered. The family snuggled on the couch with there new member. "Love you guys."
"Love you too Mary!!!"
