-Mairin's POV-

I walked along a dirt path. It was quiet and you could hear the sound of chirping Fletchling.

I stopped. A small river was in the way. I hoped onto a gray stone and walked on the stones until I got to the other side.

I walked along some bushes and trees, also passing lots of large and small rocks. And then that's where it hit me...

This was the same place I met Alain.

Alain...

No! No! No! Don't think about him Mairin!!

"Hey Mairin! Is that you?!" A voice called. I looked over. A girl with long blonde hair, in a braid, blue eyes, black pants, and a brown T-shirt with a black bow stood a few paces away.

"Mairin! It's me! Bonnie! Remember?!"

Bonnie!

Bonnie! I ran over to her and hugged her. She is so tall! She's grown so much!!

"Has it been...7 years?!" I guessed.

"Yes! I'm 14 now!!" Bonnie smiled her usual toothy grin.

I sniffled.

"Don't cry!" She paused. "Say...where's Alain?" Bonnie asked.

"That's why I'm here. See, I worked for the professor for 8 years. Alain...he-he l-left me. And the professor talked to him a few weeks ago, and found out that he was in Anistar City–w-with a girl a-and I wanna see him again." I took a breath.

"Ooh! Someone is J-E-L-O-U-S!" Bonnie snickered.

"N-N-N-No! It's not like that!!" I blushed.

"Mmmmmhhhhmmmm" Bonnie frowned.

"So, can I come with you?" She smiled.

"What?" I asked.

"To Anistar City. I haven't seen you in 7 years. We need to catch up!" Bonnie smiled.

I paused. I wanted to do this alone but, I haven't seen her in 7 years.

"Sure!" I smiled.

"Yay!" She hugged me.
