4: The Outside World
Lukas was uncertain about leaving his hotel room, but he hadn't seen the outside world for years. "It's summer, right?" He asked his nurse, who nodded.
"It's really nice and warm outside, so you won't need a jacket. I see you've changed out of your hospital clothes, so you're good to go!" Mathias said as he pushed the wheelchair to Lukas' side.
"Yeah, I have enough things in my room that I can use to keep my balance." The Norwegian said as he sat down in the wheelchair. As soon as he sat comfortably, Mathias started wheeling him out of his room, and into the hallway. The two kept chattering until they reached the doors leading outside, where Lukas went silent. Mathias stopped talking as well as he pushed his patient through the doors.
Outside, the sun was shining, and the trees all had healthy, green leaves, some even had flowers blooming in them, and birds were flying around. Lukas looked around him, and wondered if it had always been like that.
Mathias walked towards the park closest to the hospital, and walked around under the trees, which all wore white blossoms. The occasional flower would fall down and crown the head of a little girl, if it didn't land on the ground.
"The blossoms are even whiter than your hair, Luke!" Mathias commented. "And where did that nickname come from?" Lukas wondered, though he only nodded his head in response.
The two walked around a bit until Mathias spotted an unoccupied bench next to a fountain, which marked the exact middle of the park. He parked the wheelchair next to it, and sat down himself.
"You're an interesting person, Lukas... I look forward to taking care of you!" The Dane said happily, and there was no question he meant what he said. Lukas, again, said nothing, but groaned as a response, and you couldn't be certain if it was positive or negative.
"Don't you enjoy the sun like this? You have only seen it from the other side of the window for the last few years, so how does it feel to have it touch your skin?"
"I think I might want to go outside more often." Was the only response, though it made Mathias very happy. He hugged the patient, though when he sensed he didn't like that he pulled away. He didn't question it, some people just didn't like to be touched.
"I haven't been hugged since I was little." Lukas opened up a bit to Mathias, something he regretted immediately. He couldn't stop what this man was doing to him, but he shouldn't give in to it, and still, there he was telling him about himself.
"Oh?" Mathias decided not to act too interested, Lukas didn't seem to like that.
"My mum died when I was seven, and my dad became distant. My little brother had always been distant, so that's why I haven't gotten a hug since I was nine, when my father found a new wife, and became even more distant." 'Fuck, fuck fuck fuck, why am I telling him this? I can't give in to his tricks! I have never told this to anyone!' Lukas' mind was racing. How could he tell something about himself so easily!?
"I hate what you're doing to me, I can't stop it." He mumbled, and thank God Mathias couldn't hear that.
"Mm?"
"Nothing."
"Alright. Then, do you want to go back? It's around four right now. We could be back at five, and dinner is at six, so you could do something for a little while." Lukas nodded, and Mathias stood up to push him back to the hospital, pointing out every little thing the other might have missed on the way there.
Back in the hospital, Lukas was helped onto his bed by Mathias, before the nurse walked away, and left Lukas alone with his thought, which were all over the place. Although, the one main and most common thought was: "why?"

Short chapter, sorry: 666 words.
I apologize if you didn't understand the little story I prepared in the last chapter, but it will come back and make more sense.
Also, in regards to this story:
There will be no smut.
There might not even be any intimacy except for hugging.
Emil is (going to be) a dick, but that's only for the story. Do not hate on APH Iceland, please.
Berwald and Tino will probably appear around the end of the story.
Lukas can use his legs to support himself, but he has trouble keeping his balance, and this is why he can walk, if he has something to hold onto.
And the last one, and although this might be a shock, because fanfics usually do have this:
There is no happy ending.
There. To mentally prepare yourself. There is no happy end, and the end might turn out differently than expected.
