Today Simon was very eager to go home.

He nearly ran outside and even bumped into Zhan, "Why are you in a hurry brat?"

"I need to meet my father."

Zhan smiled, "You see him every day."

"I know but I don't feel good today, I feel really worried."

Zhan frowned a little and sat down in front of him, "Why are you worried?"

Simon sighed, "I just feel that something is wrong and my father is in danger."

Zhan ruffled Simon's hair and walked him towards his carriage where his nanny was waiting for Simon, he got on the carriage but Zhan stopped to talk to his nanny, "Miss Nancy."

"Lord Zhan, how can I help you?"

"Nothing just..." Zhan thought, "I wanted to ask is the duke at home?"

Nancy smiled and shook her head, "The duke had plans to go on a hunt today."

Zhan listened to this, "Hunt with who?"

"With the duke of South Callum."

Zhan's face became pale but he refused to worry about Yibo, however, his heart wouldn't be at rest so he said, "I will be troubling you but I will be coming with you."

He just wanted to see Yibo, healthy and fine.

So he sat in the carriage with Simon.

Simon smiled when he saw Zhan, "brother why are you here?"

Zhan gave him a smile, "I want to meet your father."

Simon laughed and sat beside Zhan.

When they reached the residence, Simon ran in, "father! father!"

He ran to the study and then to Yibo's bedroom but he was nowhere even Haoxuan was nowhere to be seen, "FATHER!"

Simon ran to Zhan looking distressed, "Brother Zhan I don't see father anywhere, Brother Zhan."

Zhan hugged him and gently patted his back, "Calm down... your father has gone for a hunt."

Simon broke the hug and asked, "With who why, and when?"

Zhan licked his lips, "He is gone hunting to hunt with Dule Callum he will be back soon Haoxuan is also with him."

Simon thought a little, duke of the south? Callum the one who helped him in framing Zhan? and the one who also gave him the idea of poisoning Yibo, who also killed his ears against Yibo.

Simon was enraged and grabbed Zhan's hand, "Brother I want to go, I want to go to my father right now."

"SIMON!" CALM DOWN I SAID." Zhan yelled and Simon became quiet but he glared at Zhan.

He didn't like this pathetic position that he was in, a child listening to orders from others.

Zhan sighed and felt sorry for yelling at Simon, "Simon... your father I am sure that he..." Before he could complete his sentence he saw someone coming towards them on the horse Zhan didn't see the one riding but he saw the unconscious Yibo sitting behind them with his head lying on the orders shoulder.

Forgetting what he was saying or doing he ran outside followed by Simon who was equally horrified.

"DUKE!"

"FATHER!

Zhan hurriedly Pulled Yibo down and seeing that he was unconscious he carried him bridal style and ran in.

Nancy, Simon's nanny when she saw this she ran to call a doctor.

Haoxuan came after some time as well and ran inside the house the rider also followed them in.

Zhan laid Yibo on the bed and Simon sat beside him on the bed, "Close the door."

Simon spoke to Zhan and Zhan was about to question that but then he saw Simon taking a knife, Zhan quickly went to the door but he saw Haoxuan running towards them and he let him before closing the door."

Haoxuan went beside Yibo and was panicking, "Duke!! duke, duke!"

Zhan also came beside him as Simon cut his hand and Zhan opened Yibo's mouth while Simon kept his hand in his mouth letting the blood drip in.

"How did this happen?" Zhan asked.

Haoxuan sighed, "Callum, he did something, we don't know when, but  he managed to slip poison, but god knows when I mean duke didn't eat anything either drank then how."

Zhan thought as well but he then saw the wound on his hand he saw that the skin around the wound was rotting.

Haoxuan also saw this, "So this was how... "

But thanks to Simon's blood the skin was slowly healing.

Haoxuan sighed and sat on the floor, "I told him to leave but no this idiot had to act stupid."

Zhan slowly grabbed his hand and squeezed it tightly, as if holding onto the thread of his life.

He enclosed Yibo's hand between his own and bought it near his forehead thanking the gods.

Simon also retracted his hand but didn't take his eyes off Yibo. But after some time he asked Haoxuan, "Are you hurt as well?"

"Just minor injuries."

Simon raised his hand but Haoxuan waved his hand, "No way, I am going on a vacation thanks to my injuries, there is no way I will drink it and get healed and serve his hard-headed idiot."

Soon a knock was heard on the door, "Lord Zhan the doctor is here."

Haoxuan sighed and walked out he opened the door and swung his arm around the doctor's shoulders, "Ima the patient I am injured doctor please treat me."

He then saw Nancy, "Duke is okay, lord Simon and Lord Zhan are in there."

Nancy understood and nodded before looking at the doctor, "Please see him, doctor, "she said pointing at Haoxuan.

A few minutes later the unknown person who had saved Yibo came there as well and Haoxuan fglared at him, "who are you?"

"How is the duke?"

"None of your business."

The person with the scarf covering their face rolled their eyes and barged inside the room before Haoxuan could even stop them the person came near Yibo and Zhan stood up while Simon hid his hand. 

"Who are you?" Zhan asked coldly,  "This is the Duke's room how dare you to enter here?"

Haoxuan took out his sword and placed it at the person's neck, the person raised their hand and slowly removed their scarf.

Revealing a beautiful woman, thin lips, beautiful sparkling black eyes, and white pale skin flawless face but her face was a little tanned indicating the days she spends in the sun.

Haoxuan's eyes widened and he quickly removed his sword before kneeling, "I apologize, your highness,"  while Zhan bowed before the Lady.

Before he spoke, "What brings you here?.... first princess Wen Qing?"
